Any update please

I know there's been updates to this Mod since the summer but am sort of unsure about exactly which features have been added and which ones are on the way. Back in the summer I had asked if a couple of features were going to make their way into this Mod :

Any chance of getting a couple options in a future release?

1. Option to allow only Threads started by specified usergroups to go in the slider?

2. Option to allow Threads with specified "Pre-Fixes" to go in the slider (so if someone has a heavy use or Prefixes they could choose to only have something like "news" go in there.

3. Option to have the vbSlider on Specified Forums. (Different forums have different topics so instead of something that was more "global" this would allow for you to choose which content is see specifically in that forum's slider.

Please ensure you've enabled the correct settings in the Instance Management, there's 2 configuration areas. One for Forum and one for CMS slider :)

Please ensure you've added yourself to Super Administrator

Try re-downloading the Lite version from DBTech - I may have resolved this in a hotfix.

For feature requests, we ask that you post them in our support forums @ dragonbyte-tech.com - that way, they get logged in the system and won't get lost to the mists of time :)

Did you try re-downloading the Lite version from DBTech as I suggested? If you told me that that also had issues, I missed that post, sorry.

Is there any chance of having this NOT show threads AFTER the thread date ?

So as soon as the thread date has passed, It does not show the thread in the slider ?

Even if this is a Pro feature i would buy it, Cheers

Many thanks and i just did a repair cache and that fixed the issue of it posting from other forums

Unfortunately that's not an option at this time :(

Well, I'm a bit bamboozled.

I uploaded files (twice). Installed .xml (twice). Added widget to the cms layout.
I don't see it anywhere on my site and I've done a hard refresh.

I've cruised all the settings to familiarize myself.
For the most part in admin, it appears to have installed correctly. Only thing I don't have based on your preview images is "custom content" section.

I haven't the slightest idea what to try next and I feel stupid.
I have to be missing something simple.

Update: I've been trying things for hours now it seems! I really want this to work. I've bought another VBTech product I love and might consider this one too, but I'm nothing but frustrated.

I actually tried creating a new widget that looks exactly like the one created by the product and it at least shows up a box, but there is nothing in the box. The widget that the product created is right below the blank one you see in the layouts, but it doesn't show on the site. So frustrating.

I want the slider to just show images from one section. Example News, but some reason it won't show anything unless I pick the option for all sections. Is this a bug?

That's not an issue I can replicate, though I do remember a similar issue being reported on our forums. Can you please try downloading the Lite version from www.dragonbyte-tech.com ? Thanks :)

Ah ok - I got confused as I had the lite version over a year ago and it was there but I guess you've changed it - shame :down:

I can't answer for that since I was not the developer of v1, which is what you must be talking about for it to be over a year ago.

in my forum all work perfect, but on CMS it shows once, and then i need to clean cache if i what to see him again...every time after showing i must clean cache again...bug?...

so i installed the product and i can not find were it installed the drop down in the admincp so i can change the settings. and the widget will not show up on the home page of the CMS. am i doing something wrong or am i just missing something?

I placed "{vb:raw show.vbslider_instance1}" into the navbar template and disabled "Auto display" but it wont show up, any idea why?

Even with "Auto Display" on, the slider won't appear anywhere :/

Did you remember to set the number of items to display to a number greater than 0 in the instance management page?

I'll need more information than "does not work" to help solve your issue :(

As per the OP, custom content is a Pro-only feature :)

I got it to show up. i had to place the code into one of my template.

Did you configure the CMS settings in the Instance Management? Keep in mind that in that interface, there's two configuration sections - one for Forum and one for CMS.

I installed, I dont see any images. How to associate images?

Inside Instant mgmnt, i did set : Content Display Time,Content Location
Content Text Alignment etc. thread details are showing up, no images are pulled from the thread, always i see the DBtech default image. Please help

Installed, don't work. Doesn't display anything anywhere. And yes the widget is placed in the CMS but nothing.

I have the problem, that the pictures in the cms-widget only display one or two times. If i click reload in my browser, then i can the the widget, but collapsed and with no content. Now i must wait 5-10 minutes and then the widget works again. But again only for 1 or two reloads.

I use vB Suite 4.2.1. and the free Slider (lite). What could be the problem?

The widget cache settings, I would imagine.

OK yes, must something wrong with the cache. I have tryed to set the vbSlider-Widget cache Setings to 5 minutes and to 60 minutes. Same Result: The widget loads one time and when i reload the site, the widget is collapsed. But everytime i go to the configuration of the vbSlider Widget and save them, the widget works again for one time.
