Love the idea of this mod.

My only issue though:

Everything is working and running fine, but as I friend people,
they aren't being added to my chat friends, so I can't chat with them. I know this is a
mistake on my end, I just need a bit of guidance!

installed it, read the instructions. looked around for where the settings were.. i couldn't find them lol. but after i did, it showed up perfectly fine on the forum.

I got the Pro version, it makes the site so slow I wanted to pull my hair out waiting to get back to ACP to turn it off! $60 down the drain, thanks buddy!

Performance issues seem to be a recurring topic. Hopefully this can be addressed?

We are constantly working on this script and some even more advanced code concepts to make it more optimized than it currently is. We also have some performance related settings that are in the admincp which are able to drop the load down at the cost of slower message response times. By default the script ships tuned for almost instant messages which is not ideal for large sites which don't have the hardware to support the extra load. So tuning of the sleep time and other time related settings to higher values should help drop the load from the script.

uninstalled, regret buying the pro version, slows down my website a lot, sometimes even takes it down. I switched to cometchat, much better, also looks nicer.

You obviously needed to tune settings somewhere in your server, as there have been a few benchmarks performed and our chat outperforms cometchat by over a 50% margin, and soon to be even greater as we are working hard on a memcached based stream to avoid even needing to touch the database between 75-90% of the time depending on how active your site is.

when i try to edit the usergroup permisions i dont see anything regarding the iwt chat or so

Installed the product, but soon after enabling it, I started to get 503 Errors on my server, couldn't even log on to the ACP to deactivate it, had to rename some files to at least get a propper php error after which I was able to get back to the ACP and deactivate / uninstall it.

Refreshing des not work and this database fault is in the output!

Whats wrong??

I have installed this and I am not able to use it. When I type a message it doesn't appear to the other user. After sending the message my chat box shows up blank. I have to close the chat box, and refresh the page to see anything.

agree removed it myself also found out it does not remove 5 tables so had to delete them myself

Everybody having issues please go to our site and start a thread or open a support ticket, so we can help you all on an individual basis. Theres just to much going on in this thread for us to effectively keep track of all the problems to make sure we fix everything.

Support isn't bad we just don't have time to monitor this thread every hour, but we monitor our sites frequently and have helped quite a few people who have done things the way we asked and opened support tickets.

The reason it doesnt remove the 5 tables is for people to be able to upgrade from lite to pro without losing all their data. It wasn't an accident they were left, that was done on purpose to avoid issues with upgrading from lite to pro.

You are experiencing a bug that we are working to fix but not many people have gone to our site and opened a support ticket so we can test patches on your server to get it working, as with all the different server configurations out there we have to make some specific patches for some of them to fix issues. Once we fix them and build them into the release then there will be less issues for everybody. As most the people not getting the messages without reloading are suffering from a similar bug that we have already fixed on a few sites but we need more to test it on to make sure the fix is enough or if we need even more work arounds to fix server configuration conflicts.

Please go to our site open a support ticket and provide the charset you are using as well as some sample words to test with, as we don't speak other languages so without data to test with we can't fix the charset issues to make sure that all languages work perfectly.

I will setup that mod on our dev board and see what is going on so we can try to work around what ever is conflicting.

This is already a planned feature and will be in one of the upcoming releases.

You are suffering a bug with the stream that is happening to several servers due to buffering issues most likely. If you would go to our site and open a support ticket and provide an admin account and ftp, we will test the current patch we have on your site to get things working, and if that patch isn't enough we will figure out what the problem is and make a patch for your setup and build it into the next release.

The 503 errors are most likely being created by your server being overloaded, I would suggest setting the time settings to higher values to decrease the load put on the server.

I will take a look at that and get a fix made as the problem is that we used some query tricks that aren't supported by older version of mysql. So if you would go to our site open a ticket and give us an admin account and ftp we can test some new queries on your server to get it working with older versions of mysql.

The chat looks great, it doesn't seem to be working for me though! I've uploaded all of the files and i've imported the two products. Nothing shows up though? :S

I like this mod a lot, however it caused random 500 server errors which were due to memory usage. Great mod, but too consuming! Sorry!

Are you on a shared server?
Most chat mods won't run on shared servers due to process run times and memory usage :(

I got it to work but did not like it so removed and installed a chat box

I had the same issue and its cause is too bad. It might not be as bad if it did not retain old message data. I noticed that message windows would be "open" days after I ended conversation. The chat info was gone, so that part worked, but the tab with the users I chatted with remained.

Could that be fixed to help with such issues?

Worked ok for several days, then a few members started to complain about not being able to access the forum. A day or so after that the mod caused the servers 4 gb memory to max out and freeze up requiring a reboot. It's a dedicated server and has never needed a reboot like that.
We have an average of 200-300 users browsing the forums but only members and mods were able to see the chat bar, it didnt handle more than 40 users before seizing up.

Based on other reports on this thread I disabled the chat mod after the reboot and all is well now.
