Going to need more info- any error? Did you enable the mod? How do you have it setup?

Spangle 03-07-2013 07:00 PM

Decided to uninstall this after lack of support on developers site (over 48hrs)

Installed this instead http://www.autolinker.com/forum/content.php?54

Worked out of the box, with one simple template edit.

If it link to other 3-5 threads automatically finding relative words then it consider a best mod

.

Glad you found a solution that works for you. Will be deleting your requests for help from my site since no longer required.

My mod also work out of the box with NO template edits. ;)

You have to setup each word and each link, nothing is automatic.

Not for me ;)

JustAskJulie 04-03-2013 02:39 PM

Been needing this.

JustAskJulie 04-05-2013 01:05 PM

I notice that the links created don't carry over into mobile apps like TapaTalk. Any idea on how we can make them do so?

JustAskJulie 04-05-2013 01:16 PM

One more question. I've got a keyword that i need to link that is basically a three letter abbreviation. Unfortunately, it is also a set of letters that commonly appear in other words. Is there a way I can cause them to auto-link when they are standing alone (surrounded by spaces) but now when found inside another word. I tried adding a space before and after the 3 letters in my word list but it didn't make any difference.

I found the answer to this. Just in case any one else out there is as blind as I am. The answer is in enabling the option "match whole words only".

Still wondering if there is a way to make the links carry over into mobile readers like Tapatalk.

BirdOPrey5 04-09-2013 01:26 PM

Unfortunately no way to make it work on Tapatalk without editing tapatalk files that I know of. They need to figure out how to enable the postbit_display_complete hook- they have been adding in vBulletin hooks over time but no idea if they will ever bring that one in... it's not n 3.6.3 as far as I can see.

Thanks. Maybe they will add it at some point. At least this hack helps make up some for the clicks I've lost to those using Tapatalk.

Hejo, great Plugin but got some trouble. Everything is installed fine, the thanks/like statistic in posts work, the admincp work, just there is no thanks button in the posts to thank ?o maybe check http://www.raptor-board.net ... any ideas?

BirdOPrey5 04-13-2013 05:14 PM

Can you post the list of keywords you are linking to? My guess is one of them is conflicting with the thanks button.

Naijasite 07-30-2013 07:17 AM

Max Number Of Links Per Word Per Post is 2.
Max Number Of Links Per Page is 4

But it keeps linking all the word that has been set. It link more than 2 and 4 words.
Please how do i fix this error.

BirdOPrey5 07-30-2013 09:21 AM

Please post a link to an example where this happens.

Note the setting says:

Quote:

This will attempt to limit the number of links generated per SHOWTHREAD page. (Works for Posts only). Unlike the above setting this will limit the TOTAL number of links so it's best used in conjunction with the limit per keyword above. This is not an ABSOLUTE limit- it will prevent keywords in additional posts after the limit has been reached. If the limit is reached within a single post it will still link additional keywords within that post. Enter 0 for unlimited links.
It is not intended to be an absolute limit. If you have 5 different keywords in the same post they all get linked.

Hey, BOP - first, I LOVE this mod. Works great for us. We have about 15-20 sponsors and we word link each of their names. The URL's include our affiliate ID's - it's perfect for that use case.

What I'm looking for is a way to notify a sponsor when their name is linked. So if someone typed "I love Sponsor1 because of x, y, z..." not only would Sponsor1 include our affiliate link, but Sponsor1 would get notified (email or PM, or something) that someone mentioned their name on the forum.

Is it possible? I know there are other @mention type mods, but that's not really what I'm looking for. Would gladly pay!

Cla75 08-06-2013 04:03 PM

Would it be possible to add the ALT attribute (description) to the link of the word?
I think it would be very useful
I hope for your support
thanks

mikez006 08-08-2013 04:18 PM

works with 4.2.1, but I still can't use it because it overwrites existing URLs and I don't want members to get upset that I'm replacing their links with my own.

It appears to only happens in multiple word links.

For example, the below is a text link from a member

"selling boat supplies"

I then create a word link for

"boat supplies"

The URL for the "selling" text remains the same, but the "boat supplies" URL is overwritten with the new URL I added.

If you can make it so no existing links are overwritten that would be awesome. Tagged for future use.

smirkley 08-08-2013 08:08 PM

Can this mod be used to hyperlink all words in posts that are contained in the tag lists? Think that would be great to get more traffic on otherwise untrafficed posts. IE, if I saw the word in a post that was hyperlinked to the thread list page of a tag that is in my database.

Know what I mean?

nobody knows if possible?
ALT attribute or popup for description

BirdOPrey5 08-17-2013 12:10 PM

ALT is used for images. A title attribute would be what you want... What would you want the title pop-up to say?

Cla75 08-17-2013 01:08 PM

I'd like passing the mouse on the word may seem a comment / description.

better if you could write using html for font colors

iglow 09-29-2013 12:59 AM

used to work great for me but now when i turn it on i get:

Warning: require_once([path]/includes/functions_bop_wordlinks.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/includes/class_postbit.php(345) : eval()'d code on line 6

i had older verison, now i installed newest. im on latest vb 4.1.2 on original theme.

ozzy47 09-29-2013 01:12 AM

That file does exist in the zip, please ensure that the file, functions_bop_wordlinks is in your includes folder.

You need to upload the file from the .zip file to your server, the file functions_bop_wordlinks.php needs to wind up in your /includes/ folder.

DemOnstar 09-29-2013 12:01 PM

Installed! Working perfectly well in 4.2.1...

Would like to nominate..

This man is unstoppable................ Great stuff JD...

Where can I find a hats off smilie....?

BirdOPrey5 09-29-2013 07:51 PM

Thanks, but it already won "Mod of the Month" so it can't be re-nominated. ;)

DemOnstar 10-26-2013 12:22 PM

Is there anyway here to control the size of the lettering in the links created?
I mean, is it possible to BOLD the link as it is created or/and push the size of the font up a notch.
Possibly add an underline if necessary?

Thanks......

john7911 10-26-2013 12:43 PM

Thank you :)

Yes, in the mods setting choose - Enable Custom CSS? to YES.

Then in your additional.css template add some custom css for the element boplink. There are examples in the instruction/readme text file.

Not exactly sure your question. In the mod settings is the option - Disable For Specified Usergroups - where you can hide the links to specific usergroups, including guests.

tpearl5 02-09-2014 01:25 PM

Joe - thanks again for providing this.

One other little annoyance that I noticed. If the keyword is already within a link then this mod will erase that link and enter the one in the definition. I can see where this would be useful in some cases, but for my purposes I would like to keep the link that I entered. Any easy workaround for to do this?

MaLTRaiN 02-19-2014 05:57 PM

Hi. I couldn't find it on the thread, so I ask... is there a way of excluding this from words within a link?

Like... when you put a link but with a "custom title" containing the word.

Can I do something about it?

BirdOPrey5 02-19-2014 06:58 PM

The mod is designed to not affect keywords already part of a link...

So if Amazon is a keyword

and you have a Link like-

Use Google to Search Amazon

Amazon should NOT be getting linked...

If it is please send me a URL where I can see it happen and the keyword(s) that are getting linked that shouldn't be.

BirdOPrey5 02-19-2014 07:17 PM

You can see a live working example here- http://www.qapla.com/mods/showthread...ord-Links-Test

Mn3m0n1c 02-24-2014 03:02 PM

Dear BirdOPrey, thanks a lot for this mod!!
I'm testing it and i have a little problem with some words. Words finishing with accent were not automatically linked (for example "gravit?", "novit?" ecc). Other words with accent inside has no problems (example: "Attivit? solare").

After a bit of debug, i see the words "gravit?" correctly inside arrays:
$bop_find_array and
$bop_replace_array

but the links were not generated, nor span tags etc... the words with accent at the end were simply ignored.

Any ideas?
Thanks again ;)
