Hi all is possible to show this shoutbox in all Pages ?

DragonByte Tech 09-28-2010 07:58 PM

To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

Step 2: Change the Auto-Display Shoutbox setting to Disabled.

Step 3: Change the Shoutbox Deployment setting to include the script names of all the pages you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter index, vbcms for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd remove the contents of this setting.

Step 4: Change the Manually Display Shoutbox setting to include the template names you wish the Shoutbox to appear on. For instance:
To have it appear on the front page (CMS) as well as the Forum Home, you'd enter FORUMHOME,vbcms_page for this setting.
To have it appear on every page, you'd enter navbar for this setting.

Step 5: Enter the Style Manager and add either {vb:raw vbshout} (vB4) or {$vbshout} (vB3) to the templates you named in Step 4 in the desired location.

Follow these steps as described and you will have total control over the position of the Shoutbox.
Please note that some locations may not work as intended on vBulletin 3.8, and also note that it is not designed to go in the Forum Blocks side-bar (vBulletin 4).

Hope that helps :)

I was interested in buying your pro version as i used the vbinfernos SB before. Anyways i decided to try the free version before i made the purchase. It installed okay but the SB just refuses to show in one of our custom skins (it displays okay in the rest though). The skin is fixed style not fluid if that helps ?

Blacura 10-05-2010 01:08 PM

Shoutbox is not showing anywhere to anyone but admins.. how can i fix this?

Instance Management -> Edit Permissions.

Blacura 10-05-2010 01:46 PM

Wonderful i got it working. The only thing now is the pop sound. it doesnt work and the fresh at times does not refresh.

But This is possibly the best shoutbox i ever used

DragonByte Tech 10-05-2010 02:07 PM

If you are having problems with sound, please follow this check-list:

1)
Did you select a sound to be played in the Instance Manager?
AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout -> Instance Management -> [Edit] -> Shout Sound / Invite Sound / PM Sound

2) Are sounds turned on?
AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout -> Settings -> Enable Sounds

3) !!!Pro Only!!! Are sounds turned on in the UserCP?
UserCP -> Shoutbox -> Shoutbox Settings -> Shout Sounds / Invite Sounds / PM Sounds

4) Is the QuickTime browser plugin installed?
QuickTime Plugin- Please note that you need to restart your browser after installing the plugin.

5)
Does it work in other browsers?
If you only have one browser on your computer (Internet Explorer) you should try out Firefox.

6) Is the following text present in the source of the page: <embed ?
Right click -> View Source -> Ctrl+F -> <embed
If this is not found, and all the above steps are completed, then you may have an out of date template. Please revert any customisations to dbtech_vbshout_shoutbox

If none of the above steps fix it for you, then it's a browser issue that we are unfortunately unable to assist with.

How do i get the chat to show on my Vb CMPS?

DragonByte Tech 10-05-2010 03:32 PM

Please see this post: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=247 for how to get it on the vB CMS.
If you're looking for the vBAdvanced CMPS then you will need to look at their forums, because there's specific instructions for that I'm not familiar with.

Those are integration for the Advanced @User Tagging mod by DBTech :)

Deleting all text from one user is a Pro-only feature, as is the automatic deleting of text by date.

I really like the product ;) Just having some refresh problems with it!? It doesn't refresh automatically when others write in it?
i have put the refresh at 15 but doesn't do anything, so, we always have to make a full page refresh :( any idea???

Oh by the way, is it ok if i styled it a bit?????
Cheers

keharris53 10-15-2010 02:30 PM

Hello,

I have over a dozen forums and want to install this on just one of them. I guess I have to change the page from index to the forum I want this to appear in. Problem is, I have no idea how to identify the forum (or page), other than id 70. What exactly would the input look like in the Shoutbox deployment, or is this a manual entry. If it's a manual entry, again, how do I locate the script? I don't want this on the index page. I hope I'm making sense. Thank you!

Did you CHMOD the directory as per the readme file? That's the most common reason for this problem :)

Here's the basic information on manual placement:
---
To put vBShout in a custom location, do the following:

Step 1: AdminCP -> DBTech - vBShout-> Instance Management -> [Edit].

---

To only make it show up in a specific forum, instead of {$vbshout} use this code:
Code:

<if condition="$forum['forumid'] == 70">{$vbshout}</if>
I believe that's the correct code for vB3 :)

keharris53 10-16-2010 04:55 AM

Thank you Fillip. The page I want this to appear on is the following: forumdisplay.php?f=70. I disabled auto display, and used the above for the deployment location, not sure if that is correct and in the manual display input forumdisplay, and then copied the code you provided for a specific forum in that template. The shoutbox still does not appear. I'm sure I'm missing something simple, but I don't have coding experience and haven't any clues. I appreciate your assistance.

i get a 404 error whenever i install this product and try to edit the features via the left side in the admin panel...this is also happening in your facebook hack aswell...any knowledge of how to fix this?

I tried reuploading all the files and it went good..but still cant edit it in the Cpanel

Enter forum in deployment, see how that works.

Have you renamed your AdminCP directory, per chance?

legion! 10-17-2010 11:48 PM

yes i did...hahah wow why da hell didnt i think of that....

keharris53 10-18-2010 11:33 AM

Fillip, I changed it to forum, but still no luck. I double-checked permissions, I have the code you provided under $navbar in forumdisplay. I had tried it in forumhome with no luck there. I see the ref to it in the source code on the page, but no shoutbox.

I have this set up at /forumdisplay.php?f=70. I set the deployment to forumdisplay and template to forumdisplay.php?f=70 and vice versa. Tried forum as suggested but no luck. Also tried forumhome as the template.

DragonByte Tech 10-18-2010 01:40 PM

Aha, upon further research then try these settings:
Shoutbox Deployment: forumdisplay
Manually Display Shoutbox: FORUMDISPLAY
Template Code
Code:

<if condition="$foruminfo['forumid'] == 70">{$vbshout}</if>
Hope that works :)

Fillip

keharris53 10-18-2010 02:05 PM

Thank you Fillip! That did it. Much appreciated.

fxwoody 10-19-2010 12:33 AM

Ok good for the refresh! Totally didn't Chmod the folder! ;)
Now, i have different skins for different forums and the shout works A1 in all of them except for one!!! The template is a fix one but i changed the width to tune it and i can't get the shoutbox to show :(
Tried to add the {$vbshout} as mentioned in the forumdisplay under $navbar, tried $template_hook[vbshout]..........but no good results!

Strange since in every other ones they are all ok

Any idea on this???

Greatly appreciated

legion! 10-20-2010 05:29 AM

Hrmm your premium edition of vbshout...always brings up this error that says 500 internal error 755 permissions and then it like shuts my whole site down for a second or two...any idea?

legion! 10-22-2010 05:49 PM

This hack is giving me this error in my CP

Premature end of script headers:/public_html/forums/ajax.php

and its giving my site a 500 error saying nothing on the servers permissions can be over 755

i know in your directions it say make it 777

\wuts that about?

DragonByte Tech 10-22-2010 06:31 PM

There's sadly no way to operate the mod without those permissions set. You should contact your host, because that's a restriction that really is too draconic to use advanced web apps :(

I don't believe any of our other currently released plugins require CHMOD, no.

Please flush any cache systems like vBOptimise you may have installed.
In any case that's not something I'm able to fix I'm afraid; vBShout uses vBulletin's own uninstaller system :)

Installed your vBShout and the users love it, so many nice features included.

I do have two simple questions.
1. Is there a way to flush, delete or limit the Unhandled Reports list?

2. One of my admins cannot see the DBTech - vBShout admin section in the admincp, what setting is needed for him to see and manage that?

Thanks again for the killer add on!!
