Does 5 support Vbadvanced ?

DragonByte Tech 05-04-2010 08:41 PM

vBAdvanced appears to have some bugs that renders parts of it unusable with vBShout.
I'm going to investigate whether there's anything I can do about it.

SoltanWorld 05-04-2010 08:59 PM

Thanks just how much does it take to solve this problem?

I'm interested in using this mod on Vba

DragonByte Tech 05-04-2010 09:00 PM

Not sure yet, haven't looked into it extensively, been busy with the features of 5.1.
I'll post back once I have more info :)

SoltanWorld 05-04-2010 09:07 PM

Thanks please publish Change log that integration with Vba is added :) I wish

Log on with your FTP program, navigate to the folder described in the error message you posted, and download the file somewhere to your computer.
Then open it in a program that shows line numbers, and find line 87, then paste it here.

Is it possible for me to receive an FTP account and an account with full AdminCP access?
I can't seem to immediately solve this problem without said access.

Hi
Thanks for the awesome mod!

I am having a problem. The drop-down menu's at the bottom of the chatbox are not working. They get cut off by the border of the chatbox frame. This affects all the drop down menus at the bottom. I have included an image of my problem

Our website: http://www.royalbritishcommandos.co.uk/forum/forum.php

Please reply.

Adam

DragonByte Tech 05-05-2010 07:36 PM

That's very peculiar, I haven't seen that happen anywhere else.
I registered to your forum, and it seems that even the font name isn't being written properly.

Have you customised the CSS for those dropdowns?

adamdavidconn 05-05-2010 07:38 PM

I have not as far as I know. This once affected a past mod, but I uninstalled that one a while ago, so It may not be a result of your mod. Would reverting some of the css work?

adamdavidconn 05-05-2010 07:54 PM

ok, Ive jsut hcecked, and the mod is working perfectly on my test enviroment, with my theme. I guess its my install. Whats wrong with my install is a different matter

adamdavidconn 05-05-2010 08:01 PM

ahh, Ive managed to fix it. There was an old plugin I had, which added some javascript effects. Turning it off fixed it. Sorry for the inconvinience.

DragonByte Tech 05-05-2010 08:54 PM

Not a problem, glad it got solved :D

Tamtams 05-05-2010 10:00 PM

I too am having sound problems - Quicktime plugin is installed, sounds are selected / enabled through the admin control panel settings - the embed appears on the page :

<embed id="dbtech_vbshout_sound_shout_1" autostart="false" volume="0" src="dbtech/vbshout/sounds/pop.mp3" width="1" height="1"></embed>
<embed id="dbtech_vbshout_sound_invite_1" autostart="false" volume="0" src="dbtech/vbshout/sounds/pop.mp3" width="1" height="1"></embed>
<embed id="dbtech_vbshout_sound_pm_1" autostart="false" volume="0" src="dbtech/vbshout/sounds/pop.mp3" width="1" height="1"></embed>

Yet still no sound. Tried on Firefox, also tried on Chrome - any ideas?

Thanks

DragonByte Tech 05-05-2010 10:07 PM

What's your website URL? I'll go check it out there.

Tamtams 05-05-2010 10:11 PM

<a href="http://rottweilersonline.com/forum/forum.php" target="_blank">http://rottweilersonline.com/forum/forum.php</a>

I don't know if this is related, but I can't seem to enable the Shout sounds on a per-user basis - i.e. click the shoutbox title just drops down "Archive" - options is not listed...

UPDATE
it appears as though the sound does work for some users, which is strange as there seems to be no consistency as to what OS/Browser/QUicktime version it works for ...

DragonByte Tech 05-05-2010 10:33 PM

Seems like it was a browser issue, some had it working but others didn't.

Maybe Mac builds of Firefox + QuickTime isn't playing nice - any other Mac users care to confirm / deny?

Arachnophiles 05-07-2010 09:02 PM

I'm getting the following, when importing the vb40 xml file:

XML Error: mismatched tag at Line 2012

Have uploaded files several times, and chmod folder as instructed, still no joy.

Any ideas?

DragonByte Tech 05-07-2010 09:15 PM

Fixed, download the new zip file and try again. Sorry bout that :(

The only hard-coded phrases will exist in /dbtech/vbshout/clientscript/vbshout.js

In a future version, we will make these translatable as well :)

That's the control_background stylevar I believe :)

Well ... new version is really awesome .. but one little thing .. is that any way to change the bg color, of that text entering, from whit to black? as my forum has a dark theme .. :| and I am not able to find the way through style_vars :|

tlwwolfseye 05-10-2010 12:17 PM

Is there going to be a update now every day ?

Haha nope, This was the update cycle for vBShout (which worked out roughly a version each week for 3 weeks) The cycle is complete now =)

Enjoy this version, it'll be the last significant update for a few months ^.^

Thanks. ;) Already felt like not in the loop anymore. :D

Its a hell of a great Shoutbox, I really like it. One thing I wonder is why isn't it, without using BB Code, that when I change the font color, all that I wrote in my Shoutbox turns into that color. That doesn't make sense.

Usually its like that when I change the color for a shout, it only effects this particular shout, and not all the other comments I made before, at least in my personal view of the Shoutbox. Any chance that could be changed ?

And I wonder the same btw. Having a dark forum and that gigantic white field just doesn't fit. :)

It's intended to change the colour of every shout, because that's a way for you to preview your colour changes without needing to spam up the Shoutbox with "testing colour change" ;)

stylevar control_focus.

I only have "control_focus_background" and that shows a different color, in fact if it would be that color it would fit the rest of my forum. But instead that background is just white.

When I click into the Shoutbox, then I get the color set in "control_focus_background". But I want the field to have a different background color even before I click into it. Any ideas ?

It probably wouldn't be such a big problem if the textfield would be, like with almost any shoutbox, just a few pixels high. But here its huge compared to others, then the white background in a dark board becomes a problem with the looks.

DragonByte Tech 05-10-2010 12:52 PM

Oh sorry, I'm an idiot.
The correct stylevar is control_background.

Fillip

tlwwolfseye 05-10-2010 12:59 PM

Thanks but...

http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/9828/stylevar.th.jpg
http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/9828/stylevar.jpg

As you can see, in "control_background" a background color & image is already chosen by the theme. But still, the background in that window stays white.

http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/7...ylevar2.th.jpg
http://img101.imageshack.us/img101/7660/stylevar2.jpg

And its not because the background color or image ain't working, for some reason that happens only in your shoutbox.

Any ideas ?

P.S: Sorry for bothering you with this. ;)

DragonByte Tech 05-10-2010 03:21 PM

Okay, I should stop talking without doing research.
It seems it's the input_background stylevar you need to modify.
If this doesn't work either, check the following CSS attribute in vbulletin-formcontrols.css:
Code:

.textbox,
textarea,
select {

Sorry about so many false answers :(
