Thank you Paul ... :)

Very gracious of you to patch the old version, when I know you prefer to support only current version .... sent along a PayPal donation.... ;)

My best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family ...

You know what ? It?s damn long ago, that I read such a pleasant thread. A guy with a problem asking for help, a real bug found and an (hell, well respected!) author, who responded quickly, fixed the bug immediatly and even more supported his mod for nearly outdated versions - and: the guy comes back to say, thank you!

I know, it sounds a lil bit confusing wth I?m referring to that - but I?m so sick of it, that most people forget about, that on the other end of the line, there sits a human being ;)

Paul, thx for your efforts and contributions.

Martini-man 12-22-2010 03:19 PM

I'm using 4.1.0, PL2 and I still have this problem while uploading it:

"vB_Database_Alter: fetch_table_info() has not been called successfully.
MySQL server has gone away"

It only happens with this mod, so I'm really clueless to what's causing it. Help anyone?

Paul is the "bees knees" of mod authors, he's really rather good at the whole support thing.

They are displayed according to the vb usergroup/displaygroup markup rules (using the standard vb musername function). That isnt going to change.

Your mysql timeout is far too low, so its timing out while loading the existing data.

djbaxter 01-10-2011 08:53 PM

...or your hosting has too many sites on the same shared server, or someone else on the shared server is using too many resources.

Either way, this is a server issue: You need to contact your host.

Thanks. It was all I needed to hear :)

horussjr 01-20-2011 12:01 PM

1. do yout have this problem with all the styles? if not, it's a style problem
2. are you using other hacks related to users and threads? if yes try deactivating them one at a time and see were is the conflict
3. try to uninstall and reinstall first of all

Vowgaming 01-31-2011 09:38 AM

Is there any chance you could change this mod to show users posted

The reason for this is we have a gaming clan site and one rule of the site is to respond each month to the current monthly checkin thread.

It is becoming an issue to have to manualy check through the thread and tick of each user.

Paul M 01-31-2011 11:05 AM

No, there is no chance of that.

You do know you can see who has posted in a thread by clicking on the "Replies" count on any thread listing ?

Vowgaming 01-31-2011 07:04 PM

Thankyou for your quick reply and the helpfull tip, this will do the job fine for the moment and once I get familar with vbull I might try and create a monthly checkin module to automate the whole process.

But again thankyou for the tip being new to vbulletin I'm finding new things out everyday.

Hi Paul M,

This is a very handy mod and have it on a few of my forums. Currently on one of my forums running 4.0.8 we also run Tapatalk.

We have discovered that if a post is read via tapatalk it does not register with this mod. Today i updated your mod & Tapatalk to the latest version and still it does not work.

I am not sure if the issue lies with the mod or Tapatalk?
I thought i would ask here first.

Regards,

V8Owner

Paul M 02-03-2011 10:50 AM

That would most likely be tapatalk not running the appropriate hooks when viewing a thread.

Valerio 02-24-2011 02:20 AM

So this one it work also in vbulletin 4.1.1 and 4.1.2?

Paul M 02-24-2011 11:16 AM

Its for 4.0.8 onwards. :)

elz3abi M.D 03-11-2011 09:00 AM

Suggestion : can u please add an option to show invisible user to all members or certain group cuz now if iam a thread owner but don't have the permission to see invsisble user i will not be able to see them all in this hack .

thanx

Rofo 03-14-2011 02:13 AM

In version 4.1.2, I am missing borders and first line is indented... causing page error?

Paul M 03-23-2011 10:20 AM

Check your Display_Readers.. templates, make sure you are not using any old versions (revert them if you are).

FTForums 03-23-2011 11:17 PM

Thanks Paul - you are a star!

Updated version from 4.0.14 to latest 4.1.2 and that provided the borders...

The indentation of the first name remains - indented.

Thank-you for the suggestions!

elz3abi M.D 03-28-2011 11:17 AM

Hi Paul , are considering my suggestion :(

Paul M 03-28-2011 06:42 PM

Sorry, no, I wont be doing that in the forseeable future.

BadgerDog 05-16-2011 11:33 AM

Hi Paul .... :)

Just updated our site from 4.04pl1 to 4.1.3 and then updated ALL your mods accordingly ...

We're now running 4.1.2 of this mod and I started receiving emails from members that they can no longer view who has read a thread that they started? They now get a message saying that they aren't permitted to view the list of names. (see pic)

I went to the AdminCP and checked, but I have the "Allow Thread Author" box (If set to yes then this allows the thread creator to see the who has read display whatever usergroup they are in.) set to YES, so I'm not sure what the problem is that has changed?

Way back in the earlier version, I had that problem with Google CSE displaying private threads which you verified was a bug and then you had me make an EDIT change to the XML file to fix that, as I wasn't able to update to a more current version of this mod because I was still stuck with 4.04. I only mention it as I wasn't sure if that's a factor in this problem, but I doubt it as I assume the importing of 4.1.2 contained all the fixes necessary?

The authors of the threads are also a members of usergroups which are not checked off with permissions to see the list of names, but that wouldn't be a problem would it?

Any help would be appreciated ...

Regards,
Doug

That would be exactly the reason.

"Allow Thread Author" only allows them to see the actual box - if they dont have names permission then they still wont see the names.

Gotcha ... :)

For whatever reason, these folks who have been complaining are thread starters (authors), who no not belong to the selected user groups, but claim with the previous version of this mod under 4.04 of vBulletin, were able to read the user name list.

Being an Admin myself and part of user groups allowed to view the list, as well as click on names for more info, I've never had an issue with either this version, or the old version.

I'll go back and check the user group options again and see if I can somehow permit the thread starters to see more than just the box by adding them to a user group.

Thanks Paul ... :)

Regards,
Doug

Paul M 05-16-2011 03:55 PM

I've installed this mod, thank you for it, I have set Days Limit to 0 but its only showing the last 7 days or so, should it be showing from the start of the thread or will it be only the last few days because I've only just installed it? I'm running the latest vb4.14.
