OK. Understood. But may I please ask that you improve how the information is shown?

Example: if you are looking at (say) 10am in the morning, and someone was on within the 24hr rolling window, at (say) 9pm on the previous day, the mod shows "09:00pm". Not only is this incorrect (there are no preceding 0's in the am/pm format; a preceding 0 is only for 24hr clock format) but it is also a little confusing.

Better would be "Yesterday, 9:00pm". The format is then consistent with how posts are represented in the forum threads. (And therefore doesn't require much coding work on your side since you can recycle existing code).

Yes, you can ask. ;)

However, I can also decline. I am perfectly happy with the way it displays, as it seems are the thousands of people who have installed this over the years. I do not intend to change it. :)

BTW, the time display uses your own forum settings, so you have it set to display as "09:00pm".

Thanks for pointing that one out Paul. It seems that vB's default (and suggested use) of h:i A for AM/PM clock is actually wrong and should be g:i A.

To remove all ambiguity, I have now set my forum with the following time format H:i (g:i a)

Your prerogative to decline, no problem, but to validate the response by saying that thousands of people were perfectly happy with horse and cart over the years, is rather weak as a socratic argument.

On your own forum you are free to alter it as you wish, as long as you do not release it to anyone else. I will also not support any changes you make. :)

This is a known bug in the vbulletin product install system, you need to delete the -10 templates. See https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost.php?p=1968704

That was easy. Thank you so much for the quick response!

LoneWolf71 02-11-2010 01:58 AM

Great mod! Thanks, I was looking for this. Working great! Has anyone gotten this to also work in vbadvanced cmps? Or does anyone care to tell us all how to do it? :)

Thanks Paul, nice mod! Keep it up!

cool mod, installed.. thanks for sharing this one

Philippe J 02-19-2010 07:24 PM

Very nice mod that I used with vb3.8, and now with VB4.

But I have one issue since I've upgraded to vb4.02 : IE8 crashes all the time if "Members have visited today" enabled, unless it's in compatibility mode.

I use this tip (here) to force compatibility mode in my forum :

Add to the headinclude template :
Code:

<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=7" />
Any idea ?

That has to be an error from some other add-on or custom template modification. I'm running it with IE8 and it's not crashing browsers for me.

Make sure you revert the templates for all active styles. When I upgraded to 4.02, a couple of them weren't "merged" correctly and it broke the styles. That may have injected a fatal but in your case that the browser ignores in compatibility mode.

Paul M 02-19-2010 09:34 PM

Works fine in IE8, must be something on your forum.

ComoEstaEso-com 02-20-2010 01:02 PM

Just installed the latest version.
Works like a charm.

Thanks Paul M for the hard work! Much appreciated!! :)

LoneWolf71 02-20-2010 03:48 PM

Guess there is no integration for vba?

Paul M 02-20-2010 04:26 PM

For vba integration you would need to goto the vba forums.

Michael Tsai 02-24-2010 10:16 AM

Installed, but disabled, thanks anyway.

MrsZippy 02-24-2010 01:30 PM

This is a great mod and have used it on VB3.x and now on VB 4.0.2.

I just have one little niggle which is kinda bugging me. When this mod is enabled it changes the font in the rest of the "What's going on" section to bold. You can see the difference in the 2 attachments.

Other mods I have installed for this section are "Guest Tracking" & "User Group Color Bar".

I have the same issue with the "User Group" Mod so is it possible that these 2 are clashing? If I turn off the members mod but leave UGCB enabled then it is still bold, turn both off and it goes back to normal.

I've tried all mods individually and only guests mod on its own keeps the text as it should be.

Thank you

Paul M 02-24-2010 01:49 PM

I would say you have some mismatched usergroup markup html somewhere - an opening bold tag, but no matching close [bold] tag.

MrsZippy 02-24-2010 05:53 PM

Ok, so just how stupid do I feel :o I didn't even think to check them, but thank you sorted now

Cybeth 02-24-2010 06:05 PM

Paul M 02-24-2010 10:31 PM

I see three red arrows and a red line and no explanation of what they are supposed to be showing. Im not going to guess.

balkanboy 02-25-2010 12:34 AM

Well then he should say so, I dont have the time to play guessing games. :)

Im also pretty sure that picture is not this modification, it looks more like the Guest Tracking display to me.

Paul M 03-16-2010 12:12 PM

How much ressources / queries does this hack produce?

Bravo 04-08-2010 03:05 AM

Got a weird one. The mod doesn't show on the untouched default skin, but it does show no a custom skin I have. Any clue?

Thanks

=-=-=
Edit:

Nevermind It shows up now, I'm guessing cause memcache had the template in cache.

Kolbi 04-08-2010 08:29 AM

I guess this modification needs a lot of ressources. Can it be reduced by for example caching for 5minutes or such a similar option like the vbulletin sidebar has?
