Can you post here what you did in that file to fix it please! As I told you already I tried your file with the paid for version and it didn't work! So maybe give us the lines of code to change so I can alter my paid for version to fix it with your edits.

Thanks!

salusoft 11-03-2010 05:58 PM

http://projects.izzysoft.de/trac/imdbphp/timeline

Maybe some guy who can read php can help u.
Pro ver is like lite ver, just little modified. Read the code.

yotsume 11-03-2010 07:23 PM

I opened a ticket there to have my pro version 2.6.0 fixed... we will see...

DUDE Your wasting everyones time who uses the paid for version. The fixes in the tickets are only for the lite. I read code for a living! DONT BE RUDE

If you have a fix that is simple for version 2.6.0 pro then by all means post it!

The fixes you linked to do not work for my version. LAST TIME ILL SAY THAT!

yotsume 11-03-2010 07:37 PM

This ticket fails for pro version:

http://projects.izzysoft.de/trac/imdbphp/ticket/187

#1 the line of code suggested to change is different in pro version.
#2 the code edit suggested doesn't work for version 2.6.0 Pro

i.e. "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0468569/" becomes -> [imdb]048569[/imdb]

(kind of like how passivevid works)

I know this was back in February, but I wanted to mention I have an AME definition I want to release that works with this mod provided you have AME (Auto Media Embedding) installed, too. It works, however, I'm running into problems with this mod and would like to wait until these are corrected until I release that definition. Can't seem to find the fixes for the Lite Version of this modification.

yotsume 12-07-2010 08:26 PM

This mod is broke and the developer is MIA! So the whole thing is useless until the person who released this can fix it to work with the changes that the IMDB people have done that breaks this mod.

The developer isn't "MIA". He commented in October that they were working on a different version. Declare him MIA if doesn't respond back within the next six months.

Digital Jedi you are wrong, I am a paying member of this mod several times for several sites and the Developer has gone MIA , their web site has shut down its chatbox and its members area and the staff no longer reply to emails or pm's for over 2 months now. Yet he has been on here very recently and has not replied to pm's or to posts in this mod. In Every Society and business if a person does not respond within 1 month they are MIA. I would constitute this as MIA and no longer supporting the MOD, also kind of Unethical for taking people's money to purchase a advanced version they do not plan on fixing nor respond back to their clients. ;) Even worse is that for those of us that have paid we are tied into their server for our mod to work, Adv Version verification system, so when their server goes down This Adv Mod shows a large error on thousands of my pages sometimes for days until they get their server running again. :( Now imagine having a movie site with 25,000 movies and threads using IMDB Adv version, if this mod or their server goes down it truly affects my web sites big time.

I guess if you were dealing with a larger business, but when you pay for something like a vBulletin mod, you're usually dealing with a guy, or a group of friends/associates. Generally speaking, and speaking from experience, when they say they are busy working on something and when they shut down something that requires constant moderation, that usually means they're busy working on the product they said they were working on. I know you guys would love week to week updates, but since things change so fast and personal issues will kibosh any plans you had on doing great support, sometimes you have to "disappear" for a few months just to get the product out that everybody wanted. If someone says they're working on something, and they're not committed to me for any reason, then I take them at their word they are. They only really need to say it once. It's because you paid for the product and that they have paying customers that I presume you haven't heard from them. I assume good faith until I have good reason to believe otherwise, and I think we all should.

kalisekj 12-08-2010 04:42 PM

Digital Jedi You are right, we must have faith in the fact that they will make this right. I will say they have been very helpful and seem trustworthy when I have spoken to them in the past.

On A Side Note I would Love to have your AME plugin for IMDB. This would help me port over a few more thousand threads that have not been updated yet. Although IMDB is not completely working it works well enough on most movie titles that I am still using it. You can pm me a response if you like.

Digital Jedi 12-08-2010 06:43 PM

All of this could be solved, really, if IMDB had some sort of API. I spent the entire day, yesterday, trying to figure an IMDB definition and was surprised to find that IMDB is an Amazon.com company. Heck, just a search string URL, like the one Yahoo! is shutting down this month, would be great.

kalisekj 12-08-2010 09:09 PM

Yeah things would be much simpler then. Let me know if I can try your IMDB plugin def for AME. Would save me a lot of work, truly a lot of work hahahaha

Digital Jedi 12-08-2010 09:23 PM

Which version of AME do you have? I've only done one for AME 2.5 so far. Should probably be able to do one for AME 3 if that one works, too.

kalisekj 12-09-2010 12:51 PM

I have AME 2.5.4 :) guess I missed the 3.0 upgrade and wont do it until you get a imdb for it too. Thanks a whole bunch you are saving me hrs and hrs of work

Digital Jedi 12-09-2010 03:13 PM

Well, AME 3 is only if you have a 4.0 board and it had some problems. The changes they made to vB 4 kind of messed with The Geek's ability to make it work.

Since your on 2.5 you can try what I've got. I presume the Replacment Code for the paid version is the same as the Lite Version?

Code:

<imdb><script type="text/javascript">ajaxinclude("imdb.php?mid={param}")</script></imdb>
If it's the same, then you don't need to change anything.

If the paid version has different Replacement Code, then just go into the Replacement HTML in the definition, paste in the code that's needed and change:
Code:

{param}
to:
Code:

$p1
. Then you should be all set.

kalisekj 12-09-2010 05:28 PM

Thanks a bunch DJ, I Imported it into AME successfully but alas it appears to not be working. :( not auto converting the imdb url to the imdb plugin here. The advanced version does the number only for imdb.

What is the Replacement code for your BBCode?

kalisekj 12-09-2010 10:06 PM

Code:

<imdb><script type="text/javascript">ajaxinclude("imdb.php?mid={param}")</script></imdb>
This is the replacement code i have for IMDB bbcode. Let me know if you would like to check anything directly. I will give you any info you need.

update: Seems i have a hidden bbcode for imdb, it does not show in custom bbcodes. Well the one the system is using is not using the custom bbcode i made but one integrated somewhere.

Thanks a bunch for this.

Thanks you for the definition! This works perfectly with the pro version of this mod which was broke!

yotsume 12-10-2010 02:02 PM

Well I take that back your AME definition does post the IMDB info but the images still come up broke! Can't anyone provide a fix???

Digital Jedi 12-10-2010 04:03 PM

I probably should have been more clear on that. All my definition and AME do (in this case) is take out the step having to use BBCode and instructing users to manually pick out the movie ID. So you can just post the link to IMDB pages at it converts. However, the IMDB modification is still responsible for getting the movie info and doing all the heavy lifting. The definition just takes out the middle man.

If IMDB wasn't so darn stingy with their information, this mod wouldn't be having the problems it does, and I could have a very made a very basic definition that pulled similar info all by itself.

kalisekj 12-10-2010 10:58 PM

weird my images come in fine, just some of the other info does not. Just with Imdb. The ame imdb wont work because i have the imdb bbcode hidden somewhere and have no idea where to find it. :(

Shouldn't matter, if the script is what the IMDB modification runs, all AME would do is replace the URL with the script. Whatever BBCode your using or not using shouldn't have any bearing on it.

Please be patient. Most of the time, you wont get a response back in same day. Especially on a Holiday.

Images aren't working in this modification right now, since IMDB changed their code. But you do need your nophoto.png image to be in your default /images directory.

I didn't provide new code. I just told you where the nophoto.png file should go. This modification still will not pull images until the dev updates it.
