FIXED!!!

usergroups/ pick desired usergroup you want to have uploaded pics. I chose admin, then scrolled down to this "Maximum amount of uploaded photos? default shows 0 . change to a desired number and the pics appear.

The reason I did not change the 0 is because that usually means unlimited in VB.

How do I add a Premium or sponsored ad? I changed the 0 to a 4 on both menus in usergroups for admins, but I do not see that option.

i keep getting this now:
You don't have permissions to add more photos. Please upgrade, or remove old ones

However I set the number of pictures to upload to 100 and I dont have any others ... what is the logic for the check?

I had mine set to 10000 as the Admin and I still would not work for me. I dont know why, but all I had was a blank white page. I dont know which hack it was interfering with, but it had to be something as all of the instructions were followed to a T. No errors on the install, so it has to be a conflict somewhere.

I have vbCMPS and this mod and over 20 other mods and they all work great!!

However, how do i set ads to be featured ads? my main classifieds page has no thumbnails and no featured ads block.

Its none of my business, but, I believe this product is in copyright infringement of vbclassifieds.

Even if you correct mentioned that is not on your business, I want to spend some time to close this "hot topic".

1. There is no copyright for general purpose words. eg food, cinema, sales etc can't be copyrighted.
2. Copyright goes to words without any general meaning in conjuction with a logo. eg if you're old in age, at the 1981 there was an argue between Sanyo and Sanio. Finally Sanio won.
3. There is a difference between vbclassifieds and classifieds. Hope that you can understand it.
4. I asked from the author of vbClassifieds.com, to show me papers to prove his copyright. He said that he has nothing (simple because it was impossible to get copyright for a common word).

That's hor the history. Please don't hijack the thread again. If the author of vbclassifieds thinks that there is a copyright issue, he will contact vB.org admins to solve the issue.

Sorry but there is no manual. You can modify the templates to meet your needs, on the same way that you can modify all vB templates.

Don't I've this feature? Sorry but at that time I was developing classifieds and vbengine together. In vbEngine for sure exists. But I thought that I've added it to classifieds too. No, should not be any paid version.

I like this mod a lot, and is perfect for my soon to be site trader to use, but just cant get it to show the pics I upload, done all that has been mentioned, but no joy.
So had to uninstall for a while, which is a shame..

Only by giving my access to your site (FTP) and to your admicp maybe I can help you. Sorry but you tried all theoretic ways to solve it. I need to see it on my own.

maybe try to change the way VB stores pictures.. if you have it stored in database then change it to file system.

Yup, classifieds does not have mandatory/optional yet.... waiting.....

Also, i was able to post to a category where posting was not allowed (it had subcategories where posting was allowed). not sure if it was coz of being a admin user, or if it is a bug.

Ok - now *I* am having the blank page problem, too! At first this did not happen. Was able to start an ad, view the whole area, etc... made no changes to it and came back to view it today and it's blank. I'm running 3.8.1 and v 1.2.0 of the classifieds and it's blank.

I did the GZIP "fix" as described - no help.

Ah... I see... I disabled all plug-ins and then enabled them one by one. While I don't have any problems running vBa CMPS with classifieds - when I enabled vbCredits - then I got the white page.

Interesting because it seems that classifieds supports the credits mod??

This looks to be a great mod and it is working on my site under 3.8.1 with one exception: I can't seem to get the photos to upload.

Check server permissions set photo and thumbs to cmo 777. Checked user group permissions even added a higher limit for myself but still no luck.

So the question is... can anyone think what is causing this to happen: When I try to upload a picture with an ad it says I don't have permssion to add any more photos and to upgrade or delete old ones. :confused:

Just downloaded and re-loaded all scripts in case I was missing something... still not working.

I'm open for suggestions on where to look next. :o

I am having this same problem. I dont think she has the upload picture option coded correctly.

I have exactly the same. Disabled the plugins and came to find it's interfering with the vBCredits. Posted a ticket there. Does anyone know how to solve it?

That's at least funny to say something like this while there are 200+ installations working well. So, for last time I'm repeating the right procedure:

1. Set usergroup permissions to upload photos (number of photos). Please note that "0" dosen't means unlimited, but exactly 0 (zero), user can't upload photos.
2. Uploading images with classifieds is totally independed on how you've setup vB to upload/store images (eg on webspace or in database). All uploading images with classifieds are uploading at: classifieds/photos and classifieds/photos/thumbs for thumbnail.
3. Double check that directories below first of all exist, and second that they have writting permissions (777):
   1. classifieds/photos
   2. classifieds/photos/thumbs
   3. classifieds/photos/tmp

If everything of above are set correctly then you must be able to upload images. BUT!!! there is a big but.... unfortunatelly I've seen sites having soooo manyyyy mods. That's a sure way to make your vB installation upside-down. Latelly I visited a site to check this problem (not image upload) on my own. Its true that when I tried with admin's details it was impossible to upload. Then I registered as normal user to that site. Guess what I was able to upload. After this I asked the site owner to upgrade my account giving it admin rights. Voila, I was able to upload again. So the fact is that any user, belonging to any usergroup was able to upload except the user "xxxxx". Sorry but after it, you can't say that the error comes from the code. For sure is coming from something wrong in your installation.

There is a way to connect itrade (last version) to vbClassified for the feedback? I use the url check to prevent users to leave feedback with no sense...

Just a quick question though, how can I set it so the ads can only be edited or deleted by the poster, obviously as admin i want total control, but dont want one poster to be able to edit another persons ads, if you see what i mean ?

mmm I've installed it, but i've a lot (realy a larg amount) of feedback with itrader, there is a way to import it or to use itrader with classified?

I must have had an older version which I installed then uninstalled.

When I try to install this version I get the following error: -

OK, solved my problem with the photo uploads... went and edited the "Secondary" User Group permissions to allow photos and now it works!

So if you are still having problems uploading photos to the classified, check what secondary user groups you have and change the photo upload limit to something greater than zero.

I feel this is a minor bug. Shouldnt either 1) only check perms vs primary group OR 2) check the group with the max privs OR 3) provide the group name that does not have the perms to post pics.

Can't upload pics no matter what I do. I've tried editing secondary usergroups, etc :(

I get this when I am in my admin trying to add a cat...

I found as Admin it wouldnt let me upload pics, but when i set up a test account had no issues at all..
