Version 2.5.4 has been uploaded.

This is a maintenence realease that addresses a rare bug with some page titles. Apart from version numbers in file headers and the product XML, the only file that has changed is includes/ame_bbcode.php

You can simply replace that file, or upgrade as normal.

if the posts contains embed videos from yahoo, myspace or slideshare, it gives a lot of script error alert when you close your browser. only happens in IE7, FF3 works fine.

The Geek 02-04-2009 10:40 AM

Must be your custom definitions (none of those are default definitions). Make sure you let the author know.

well i think those embed code conflicts with the vbulletin system. i tried to disable plugin system and allow html in posts. then paste the embed code directly into the post. same errors happen.

maybe someone could help report this bug to vbulletin.com? i can only get support on vbulletin-china.cn, and i won't rely on them.

I have installed already but nothing happens?

Check the FAQ and readme. It wont automatically embed old urls unless you rebuild them through the amecp. Do new/edited posts work?

nascartr 02-04-2009 01:56 PM

My YouTube links do not convert after update.

http://diecastcrazy.com/community/mo...ise-cobra.html

The Geek 02-04-2009 02:02 PM

That URL works fine on a default installation.

nascartr 02-04-2009 02:11 PM

Must be DJ's Definitions then. That's the only change I've made since updating.

The Geek 02-04-2009 02:22 PM

looking at the source, it looks like you may have some sort of addon that puts ads around youtube links. not sure though.

nascartr 02-04-2009 02:31 PM

Nah, that's just the default ad location template first post start and sig.

nascartr 02-04-2009 05:05 PM

I just went back to the default settings and replacements and now it works!

|Jordan| 02-04-2009 08:05 PM

I dont know what happened, i uninstalled, reinstalled. Links still didnt embed, i ran post tool a few times, links still didnt embed. Then a few minutes later they imbeded.

iardon 02-04-2009 08:22 PM

Hi,

Can this mod work in conjunction with vb's youtube bbcode...

http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/showthread.php?t=199304

Thanks.

The Geek 02-04-2009 08:47 PM

This is really designed to replace that way of embedding. With AME, users only have to paste the URL into the message, not 'part' of the url between youtube tags. This can even convert your old youtube tags into normal URLs again (which can then be turned into AME tags)

iardon 02-04-2009 09:22 PM

Hi,

Thanks for the reply. The reason I asked is some of my users might be used to the old vb way and still use it with your mod. Would that cause any issues?

Same exact problem here.

On new/edited it work!

Forensic 02-05-2009 02:08 AM

Probably a simple question but the answer escapes me.

How can I change the title text color? Previous version was super easy, this one not so much for me.

Here is an example of what I mean. The text in the header row of the table is black. I just want to make it white.

Boy do I feel dumb..:o

I hate it when someone asks a question, figures it out and fails to say how so I'll post it no matter how simple it ended up being.
Style Manager | AME_Container
Just wrap the folowing in a font tag.
$ameinfo[title] to this <font color="white">$ameinfo[title]</font>

Things are only simple to the ones that can figure them out. Not all is this simple for and posting it makes it good for many.

I can't really say that I have ever had this problem or that it has ever been reported before. Saying that, if you are using the extract abilities of this system (which most are), then understand that when posts are edited or created, many definitions will actually cause AME to pull the destination URL's web page to extract information out of it (i.e. page titles). If you have several AME links in a post, that meas that AME has to pull several pages from the web for this information. If the destination page(s) is/are unresponsive or slow, then it will slow down saving the post.

Anyhoo, just thought I would give you a bit of background on it. It only happens when saving a post and you can run AME without extraction (thought some definitions require it). However its rarely a problem for users.

HTHs :)

Again, I have just tried to do this several different ways on my local site and the only time it removed AME codes was when the setting: Remove [ame] codes was Yes. That is by design so you can remove AME if you ever chose to.

Yup, thats by design. You will need to use the admincp->ame cp->tools->rebuild options to convert old posts.

In theory it should be ok, however I havent tested it :)

I've got the same problem with you tube videos not embedding.

Ive tried http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQx6b-6kYMQ

Its not changing the tags as they still show as [url] if I manuaaly change it to [ame] then the video embeds fine.

optrex 02-05-2009 07:03 PM

Add me to the list - same issue as matty above

The Geek 02-05-2009 09:46 PM

That link works with a default installation. Check which definitions youre using as the one that comes with AME seems to be working fine with the link you provided.

jellybeanz 02-06-2009 03:23 AM

I managed to fix my issue with the youtube links. After disabling all my other hacks I was able to narrow down the issue to vboptimize. Once I did a complete reinstall of ame all my youtube links worked fine.

Hope this helps.

mattysheff 02-06-2009 03:31 PM

I've tried with both.

Obviously something is wrong somewhere. As so many people are having the same problem.

I have to agree with you it is obvious that several of the users are not configuring thier system correctly or else have a conflicting hack or such.

Most obvious is that while a handful have the problem, 1000's of others do not.

All I can do is test posted URLs on default vB and AME installations. If they work, not sure what else I can do. FWIW, this and 2.0 have over 1,500 installs and its only a couple people that have reported a problem. Those that have generally find its another mod or a configuration error.

In the end, if I can't reproduce the problem, I can't solve it.

And why for some youtube link doesn't work but it shows the small icon?

shadowedsoul 02-07-2009 02:25 PM

First off, great mod it's working really well.

The only problem I'm having with it is this, on new posts it's not auto adding the ame tags, am I missing a setting somewhere?

I've done some searching on this but havn't found anything.

thanks for the great work!

ArnyVee 02-07-2009 06:26 PM

I am having issues (just started this morning) where I cannot have a YouTube (or other) video embedded correctly. I'm currently running 3.7.4, if I upgrade to 2.5 will it help with this issue?

I changed the "URL" to "AME" as someone had mentioned in the 2.0 thread (and possibly here on this thread), but it simply displays the following code on the post....

Code:

<div style="display: none;" id="ame_noshow_post_1234038437_3">
<a href="" title="YouTube" target="_blank">YouTube</a>
</div>
<div style="display: inline;" id="ame_doshow_post_1234038437_3">
<div align="center">
<table class="tborder" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="1" 425 style="margin:10px 0">
<thead>
<tr>
<td class="tcat" colspan="2" style="text-align:center">
<a href="" title="YouTube" target="_blank">YouTube</a>
</td>
</tr>
</thead>
<tbody>
<tr>
<td class="panelsurround" align="center">
<object width="425" height="350">
<param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dZZfuCJ970w"></param>
<param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param>
<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dZZfuCJ970w" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="350" wmode="transparent"></embed></object>
</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table></div>
</div>

....any thoughts?

ArnyVee 02-07-2009 07:21 PM

Okay, upgraded to 2.5 (2.5.4 current file) and it's still not working. Here's the 'link' that shows once I add the URL to a post.....

Code:

http://www.waltdisneyboards.com/redirect-to/?redirect=http%3A%2F%2F%3Cdiv+style%3D%22display%3A+none%3B%22+id%3D%22ame_noshow_post_1234041561_3%22%3E%3Cbr+%2F%3E%0A%3Ca%20href=%22%22%20title=%22YouTube%22%20target=%22_blank%22%3EYouTube%3C/a%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/div%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Cdiv%20style=%22display:%20inline;%22%20id=%22ame_doshow_post_1234041561_3%22%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Cdiv%20align=%22center%22%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Ctable%20class=%22tborder%22%20cellpadding=%226%22%20cellspacing=%221%22%20width=%22425%22%20style=%22margin:10px%200%22%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Cthead%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Ctr%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Ctd%20class=%22tcat%22%20colspan=%222%22%20style=%22text-align:center%22%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Ca%20href=%22%22%20title=%22YouTube%22%20target=%22_blank%22%3EYouTube%3C/a%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/td%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/tr%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/thead%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Ctbody%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Ctr%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Ctd%20class=%22panelsurround%22%20align=%22center%22%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Cobject%20width=%22425%22%20height=%22350%22%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Cparam%20name=%22movie%22%20value=%22http://www.youtube.com/v/dZZfuCJ970w%22%3E%3C/param%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Cparam%20name=%22allowFullScreen%22%20value=%22true%22%3E%3C/param%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3Cembed%20src=%22http://www.youtube.com/v/dZZfuCJ970w%22%20type=%22application/x-shockwave-flash%22%20allowfullscreen=%22true%22%20width=%22425%22%20height=%22350%22%20wmode=%22transparent%22%3E%3C/embed%3E%3C/object%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/td%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/tr%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/tbody%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/table%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cbr%20/%3E%0A%3C/div%3E

ArnyVee 02-08-2009 01:55 PM

This is so strange. It's working on my other forums which do not have vBSEO. So, could it be an issue with that?

I have the most up to date mod and definitions and the videos are just not posting for me. :(
