im no coder but try this:as far as i know you have to center the table and the container within the table.

Hi all,

I'd been running this on 3.8.3 without any problems; but on upgrade to 3.8.4 yesterday, it has ceased to function. It still inserts the notice in to the new thread screen; but doesn't actually call the AJAX scripts and present a table -- it just does, well, nothing.

I've tested this both in my forum's customised style, as well as in the VB standard style, and it doesn't work in either; so it doesn't appear to be an issue with style customisations.

Any guidance? We quite liked the hack, and would like to have it work again!

You might have to reinstall it as i have been running it ok on 3.8.4 (installed on) i have since added the security patch and it still works fine.

I re-installed today, as well as re-downloaded JQuery; but still a no-go.

You don't need to download jquery, its served from google, did you change the line of code for the one that should read jquery?

I marked installed, but disabled the mod instantly again because unfortunately it misses an essential feature.

I like the mod very much, but I don't want my moderators and good users (who do use the search function) to get annoyed about this.
So what this mod really needs to prevent annoyances is an "exclude usergroup" option. Is that going to be build in any time soon?

Next to that I would use the standard way and put the product in it's own name in the vbulletin options list, and not under vBulletings standard "posting and editting options".

How do I use this?

-> I imported the product.
-> I see it's active.
-> I had a look through all the vbulletin options, but cannot find options for this mod.
-> I went to the forum manager, and there is no setting to enable it per forum, either.

Gee! You need to tell people where they can find the setting.

It's under "Message Posting and Editing Options" in the vbulletin options.

I have a good understanding of vbulletin. Additionally, I went through all the pages in this thread.

The mod is very useful, but I can not get it to work :-(
I have a vb version 3.8.4 Patch Level 1, I installed the mod, I have enabled "Check for similar threads", but does not do any research when I write the title of the thread.
I can write two threads the same as the title and text and insert them without error or warning. Why?

Updated to 1.3 but when it searches, it returns no results..

I have a "I'm selling" forum with categories as subforums, and then "I'm buying" forum with categories as subforums - all same subforum names for "selling" and "buying" parent forums.
Now i want to use your mod to display the following:
if user enters the thread named "electric guitar" in "buying" forums, he could get similar threads picked from "selling" forums... So before writing a new tema that he wants to buy something, he can see if theres a thread selling what he wants. Is that possible with your mod + some additional modification of it?

Also, i checked the templates, and in "showthread_similarthreadbit_ajax" template there's a $simthread[forumtitle] mark. I'll explain what i want you to understand at first:
as i said, i have "buying" and "selling" forums with the same titled subforums (let's say they have such subforums: guitars, drums, keyboards). Now, when your mod with the help of Ajax is showing $simthread[forumtitle] in the resulting table, it would look like it is taken from "guitars" forum, but no idea if it is from "selling" or from "buying" parent forum.

So the perfect output would look like:
Selling: guitars

And template would look like this:
$simthread[parentforumtitle]: $simthread[forumtitle]

Question: is there some mark that would be possible of showing something like $simthread[parentforumtitle], or is there a way for me to create it somehow?

Have you tried using more keywords? I put test in a thread about 20 times, and I started a new one with Test, and it didn't find it. But then when I tried something a little more detailed of a thread already on the system, it found it.
