vB iGallery V2.0.2 appears to be compatible with vB3.8.0 Beta 1.
vB3.8.0 Beta 1 navbar is one of the templates that need to be reverted. After doing so you will need to re-add access to the vB iGallery, modifying the navbar template as noted in the vB iGallery User Guide installation instructions.

Can anyone tell me how to remove this, as my thumbs aren't coming up now when looking in the albums on sites and on the profiles in the lil album section on the right. I'd like to know how to put back to before I installed this as im not sure where the Thumbs files were before making new folders and changing the paths.

Thank you

The js error is caused by Flash not yet being able to recognize Apple OS's - hence we have tried a workaround which is giving the error in browsers.

I will have to see about the vBa CMPS, there's been some mixed views on sizes, regarding the width.

Thanks for the comments! We are developing a Pro version of this modification, but its features are far more advanced, but they already include Flickr RSS support for population, YouTube video (chromeless), uploading of members own video clips, and much more. We should have a demo available soon, and all comments and most suggestions that have been made on this thread have been taken into consideration. Some of these features will be added to this free version, but not all - besides I cannot sell commercial scripts on here. :)

I think many of us are waiting for those upgrades here.

Any chance to put this working on Forumhome ?

razorripper 10-15-2008 06:42 PM

probably gotta be the dumbest question on this thread :( sorry

"We attempted to write a test file to /public_html/albums, but we were unsuccessful. Please verify that the web server has write/delete permissions for this path."

I do not have a forums directory - everything is inside public_html. I have chmod to 777 both albums and thumbnails that are located inside public_html.

Plz guide me

syrus.xl 10-15-2008 06:59 PM

This could be a CHMOD issue, rather than a path issue. Make sure your server allows the 777 write permission, on some servers this maybe 755 - this will depend on your host.

It should work in the webroot, eventhough we have made changes for a version that works outside the forum root, but this is for a vBadvanced CMPS block.

razorripper 10-15-2008 07:09 PM

i just switched it to 755 and recurse all sub directories for /albums also. still not going through.

syrus.xl 10-15-2008 07:14 PM

I'll have to check the coding working in the root, in theory it should work - but I'll check it anyway. Did you rebuild Album Thumbnails after moving them?

SuperTaz 10-26-2008 04:44 AM

Nice mod...Thanks. Installed.

blue6995 11-03-2008 08:47 AM

I'm not sure if it's because of this mod or not. I recently uninstalled it, but since then all the pictures in the albums aren't showing. Alll you can see is an outline of the thumbnail and a small red cross in the top left-hand corner.

Any idea how I can fix this?

Thanks

lenzo 11-07-2008 08:43 AM

Maybe I missed it, but I looked through this whole thread and couldn't find it.

Do you have a vba block module for this?

We have a CMPS block version running on our site, but due to the processiong use on the client-side it causes the page that its installed on to run slow. We are checking other javascript to see if it is a conflict we are experiencing.

So far, this hasn't been possible - I'll look into the coding we are now using on the vBadvanced CMPS center block module version, which is using a modified vbi.php file.

Leo Brazil 11-07-2008 12:31 PM

Thank you for the feedback syrus. Let us know when you have more news about it.

Have you rebuilt your thumbnails? By using this mod it shouldn't cause loss of thumbs since it uses vBulletin standard coding to pull them from the database. I would suggest you check the paths of your images, in your ACP.

TheLastSuperman 11-16-2008 02:54 PM

Beautiful! THANKS for taking the time to make this, it is greatly appreciated and quite nice looking as well ;)

I still have to change out the images but that can wait, tested and working on 3.6.8

Any update on resizing the gallery?

I have designed a smaller version of this gallery. It was on test on our website for about a month, it still works on vBulletin's User Albums, but the path can be changed for members using their album directories outside the webroot.

Hopefully, this will be released soon - but we are concentrating on a few commercial products first.

The new smaller version will also come with details on using it has a vBadvanced CMPS center module - which is how we were testing the product. Before we release it, we need to update the coding, and add a few new variables which can be changed accordingly - because we now have this working in and outside the vbulletin root.

VargTimmen 01-09-2009 04:25 PM

Hi,

I've installed your mod and it works well. Thank you for that.
But since the change to albums/thumbs I have the problem, that the thumbs for the albumview isn't any longer there. Nor the album.php, member.php or group.php. There is just plain text. But the viewing for the full pictures is still OK.
How can I fix the thumb-viewing in my forum.
"AdminCP -> User Albums -> Rebuild Thumbnails then click the 'Rebuild Album Picture Thumbnails'" won't work.

Kind regards,
Benny

syrus.xl 01-09-2009 04:38 PM

If you right-click on where the thumbnail is supposed to be it should give you the url to where the image is. Check this first.

If this doesn't work just PM a temp admin account and I will check it for you.

VargTimmen 01-09-2009 04:45 PM

Thank you!
I have used a wrong path for the thumpnails. Maybe you should update the manual with an e.g., due I don't know what you meant with the path. All 3 had to be relative until it worked. This caused the error, because the underlying cause for the trouble was the third pathspecification. I have set it to /home/<user>/httpdocs/board/albums/thumbs, but it has to be only /albums/thumbs.

Kind Regards from Germany
Benny

syrus.xl 01-10-2009 12:46 AM

Glad to hear you got it working! :)

The actual details relating to 'User Albums' regarding paths and urls are documented in the vBulletin Manual, this is why it was not covered in detail within our own UserGuide. I think the AdminCP also has the details under it's help section for Albums.

It is easily overlooked, and I can see why it could be confusing.

Regards,

Sunray2 03-19-2009 04:05 PM

My apologies if this was previously requested or answered......

Is there a way to place user permissions on vB iGallery?

Is it possible for each user to have/create their own vB iGallery?

Nice work!

C.

syrus.xl 03-19-2009 08:00 PM

Permissions are not available yet in this modification, this will change once the modifcation is AdminCP controlled.

To actually specify a vB iGallery per user would require a very tight tie in to the vBulletin album coding, the current coding does not support this feature yet.

Sunray2 03-22-2009 04:38 PM

Okay...

Are you working on a particular timeline for the AdminCP?

Thanks for the mod!!!!

Clicks install!!

We are currently updating the iGallery to work with video as well. It now supports YouTube access, but we've incorporated our own player in to the backend of YouTube, therefore it is '*chromeless*'.

ATM, the AdminCP is under heavy development to incorporate bridging with many popular galleries, along with a vBAdvanced CMPS block version - which is much smaller than this original.

*YouTube chromeless - meaning the original FLV player has been replaced by our own player, also no watermarks are present in any video that is streamed from YouTube.

Sunray2 03-24-2009 04:16 AM

I am looking forward to the update.

Keep up the great work!

C.

Sunray2 03-26-2009 04:31 PM

Hi Syrus,

Although, I really like the mod, I am going to have to uninstall it. We were testing the forums and the only way we could actually view the gallery was via the full url. Which is unfortunate because when we checked the image paths it showed information that should not be viewed by the public.

I'm sure it's probably something we did incorrectly during the install. Until we can figure it out we cannot use your beautiful gallery.

Thanks,

C.

This is a problem when images are stored in the webroot, paths can easily be found. The gallery itself pulls images via the vbi.php file, but uses a non-direct call - this was done to prevent the real path from being accessed from a browser. The only way around this is by placing the images in the home directory, but then the current vbi.php will fail to find them due to the dynamic XML read only.

In an update this will be coded differently, and paths will not matter, even if they are left in the database default, which is not recommended for large communities, due to database 'bloating'.

The new version will be totally revamped, and security will be increased, along with dynamic bridge import system.

Sorry about the uninstall... but this was just a quick way to bridge it to work with vBulletin User Albums, not the best way but works. We may update this, before the main release 'bridge import' version.

Sunray2 03-28-2009 05:38 PM

Syrus,

Thanks for clarifying.

I hope you will be able to release the bridge soon. You do very good work.

Thanks,

C.

Sunray2 04-04-2009 06:36 PM

I've been working on this and I think I am getting close.

I've change the path and rebuilt the thumbs; now I get a warning regarding line 333 in the class_image.php of the includes file.

Any idea?

Thanks,

Jamey 08-26-2009 01:08 PM

looks pretty cool.
