I emailed their support asking for a 3.8 version, but didn't get any where.

Perhaps if a few more paying customers email them and request?

Also Chris could perhaps address these too?

few bugs/requests/changes that need to be addressed in the next version of this mod for Addonchat...

1 - uncached templates (I already fixed this in my version)
2 - support for the community link in 3.8 (already fixed in my version)
3 - better templates. I rewrote all my templates, to handle 100% widths.
4 - better who's chatting template...

[FIXED]

I installed this, it worked ok, but it killed my Navbar links... I tried to reinstall the old version, but that didn't help. Any idea what template modifications I have to make to get this working again?

BTW, when I say it killed my navbar links, to be fair, it moved them under community (which the mod says it does), however in my custom styles, I don't use that. I mostly wanted the mod to display the who's chatting in the forum home.

dbtp 02-19-2009 01:40 PM

Hello, I installed this following the instructions.

When I click on the account settings in the AddonChat menu I am getting this error. What do I do to fix this? Thanks! I am using Vbulletin 3.8.0

Quote:

dbtp 02-19-2009 02:14 PM

Nevermind. I missed a key file. I uploaded it. it's working.

aberg 02-22-2009 05:19 PM

Works with v3.8.1. but I have the problem in the custom template.
I don't see the link ( dropmenu) here.
Anyone a idea how to add it in a custom home template? (forumhome)

Jelsea 03-13-2009 08:19 PM

I got this installed and I can connect, but the password field when logging in is auto-filled with some looooong password. It's not my password, and no matter how many times I try to save my password, it reverts to the other one when I try to log in. It's not just me, either. It's my users as well. I've already tried clearing my cache, cookies, and saved passwords. No dice. Any ideas?

logicSix 03-15-2009 03:06 PM

Is this compatible with 3.8.1?

andrej770 03-18-2009 11:19 PM

I installed this on my 3.8.1 system with Jaxel's MOD and it works fine. In order to do the account lookup (I have the free version), I left the URL blank (left it at http://). I did the Lookup once with the password, got denied, then tried it again without the password and it worked. I previewed my site and clicked on Community and the login box came up. It auto entered my user name without a password and worked.

Thanks to all.

I upgraded to v3.7, and got this integration package, and life is still good, except for one major problem: my users (and myself) are being timed out of the chat if we are inactive for more than 10 or 15 minutes. The timeout is disabled in my addonchat settings, so the addonchat people are mystified as to what is causing this. Anybody have an idea?

I am having this problem as well. Anyone figure it out yet?

aztecboi2003 03-29-2009 02:27 PM

I have the pro plus and used Jaxel's mod and it's works flawlessly for me.

aztecboi2003 04-03-2009 12:14 AM

Anyone get this to work with vba cmps? I put in a ticket with addonchat and they said to contact vbadvanced support.

vwdforum 04-18-2009 07:22 AM

I've just bought the professional plus version and done a search on their website and downloaded the vbulletin 3.7 install mod at http://support.addoninteractive.com/...=kb&article=62

It took less than 3 minutes to install and is working great!

Also, I'm after now is a flashchat who chatting to appear on my forum page (without having the drop down the menu)

Jaxel 04-22-2009 01:05 PM

I've uploaded my version has it's own mod...

getting new error on this mod for some reason....

I have installed addonchat a free and it all seems to work very well, especially after trying out Flash chat which just seems very flaky and badly supported.

I just wish there was a "semi-professional" version when all you want is a few extra features. I can't see it worth me paying for the pro or pro plus when all I want to do is change the name of the room or something. I'd happily pay a bit less for just a few more features.

desitracker 10-05-2009 11:32 AM

it s really nice.!!!but is it supoort on 3.8.3 vertion???

DieselMinded 10-18-2009 01:40 AM

needs updated for the new beta version !

wolfyman 10-26-2009 05:12 PM

my moderators are supposed to be able to ban ips and such, but I do not see that option in chat when logged in as a moderator.... help? I've got some crazy yahoos in there.

Looking for an update for vb4 but the developer hasn't been online since Jul 09 so I'm guessing it doesn't look good?!

They show a live support line on their website. Ask them about vb4 compatibility and get back to us.

Response to ticket ID 34518-6202012148:

Hello,

We do not have an integration script for v4.0 at present.
However this is on the development list, and hope to have one asap.

If you need further assistance you may reply to this ticket at anytime.

Was afraid of that....

wolfyman 01-10-2010 12:11 PM

Just tried enabling the plugin and got:

Quote:

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in [path]/includes/class_bootstrap.php(1133) : eval()'d code on line 9

Warning: fetch_template() calls should be replaced by the vB_Template class in [path]/includes/functions.php on line 3895

Grim77 01-11-2010 09:51 PM

We're working on it folks. There have been a lot of changes in both vBulletin and AddonChat since the last plugin release. The new product/plugin will support many of the new features in both vBulletin 4 and AddonChat 8.5. With any luck, we'll be making an announcement towards the end of this week :)

Grim77 01-13-2010 04:03 PM

The vBulletin 4 AddonChat Integration Product is now online at: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=233009

Awesome :)

Installed free test version... thank you ...

We've been testing various paid chat systems for our site and in this case, have been considering the Enterprise version.

The first thing we're trying to determine is how tightly the "look and feel" integrates to our site scheme and we've been unable to get even the background color to change from control panel. Are we missing something?

Second, the navbar drop down box seems to be available to everyone (even guests) right now and disabling "login" under usergroups doesn't seem to stop this behavior.

Is there a way to turn this OFF and keep groups out under the free test version, so we can do some testing just at the moderators level before we release it to the public?

Thanks... :)

Regards,
Badger

Chris ... :)

Just looked at function and features in VB4 implementation.

As mentioned in post above, we want to install Enterprise version, but have no intention of implementing VB4, so will the version we buy for 3.x have the same functions.

If not, I assume it's pointless for us to import the VB4 version and see if it runs for us?

Thanks

Has anyone had any problems with bandwidth using this program?

Addinchat looks perfect - but my service provider warned me about using a lot of Bandwidth - any comments please.

Tony

Grim77 06-27-2010 03:22 AM

Tony,

AddonChat is fully hosted, so they incur all of the bandwidth, you incur none - sort of like hotlinking to an image.

LanciaStratos 06-27-2010 03:22 AM

That's the great thing about it - once the users are authenticated on your site, it doesn't use any of your bandwidth or server resources. All chat communication is hosted by AddOnChat's apparently robust infrastructure. I've had over 160 people in my chatroom at the same time without problem.

owner@SDU 06-27-2010 03:32 AM

lanica

Thank you for that - my service provider was concerned becuase of the transfer of chat from one server to the other - but its not that is it - its a link to another site?

Am I right?

Thanks

Tony

LanciaStratos 06-27-2010 03:45 AM

That's correct, Tony. As Chris alluded to above, the chat box is sort of like an image posted on your website that is hosted by another, or an embedded YouTube video. All of the text users input is sent directly to AddOnChat's servers through the chat box embedded on your web page.

BadgerDog 06-27-2010 10:42 AM

It's an excellent service, consumes no bandwidth and their product support has been outstanding.

We use them for not only chat, but their "live support" module as well.

Highly recommended ....

Badger (Doug)

Current issue with the NPAPI flag activation at Chrome browsers impacts very negatively on our forum's usability.

Is any expected date for AddonChat-X vBulletin 3.X integration solution ??

Grim77 07-07-2015 04:28 PM

We'll be announcing the launch of AddonChat X (http://www.addonchatx.com) within the next two days. The expect launch date at the moment is the 16th of this month.

Shortly thereafter I expect announcements to follow regarding vBulletin integration. VB 3.x integration is already in development with VB 4.x. The company has also purchased a VB 5.x license so I expect VB 5 integration to be available shortly as well.
