Installed with no errors, but I got DB errors when trying to send the invitation eMail...
The fix for table prefixes posted here took care of the problem quickly and easily.

I'm working on the contact grabber, since it was often requested (have so far gmail and yahoo included). Should be ready soon...

Contest won't happen. More a thing for extending vbExperience or some award Mod. Would be a simple SQL Query to the updated invitations table or the user table with the updated referrer information.

You two are really amazing. When coding the contact grabber; please consider if you can find a way to have the grabber work without opening allow_url_fopen or other security risks.

Because allow_url_fopen is usually disabled for security reasons I rely on libcurl which is the next choice.

Contact Grabber status:

• Gmail - done
• Yahoo - done, but there are some minor issues that need further investigation.
• MSN/Hotmal - done in part
• AOL - open

That should do it for a while. The contact grabbing needs some more public testing once ready. I'm sure there are some combinations I haven't thought of. It will need another two weeks or so before I can make it available to the public for testing because my time is limited at moment.

Maybe I add mySpace and Facebook later depending on the demand.

When publicly tested we have a supported 3.7 replacement for the VisionScripts Invitation System, on which the first version of this mod was based.

Maybe I do an AJAX update sometime in the future. But before that I need to work on my New Posts Mod, that includes new blog entries in the new post search. A thing I urgently need before I go live with 3.7 and Blogs on my site.

So be patient, large update will be ready soon.

There is a coder on this forum who has a donation system which will soon allow you to set up contests for many different mods. It's called the Donation System and the coder is planning on adding this feature to the list of features his hacks includes.

Im having trouble making it a invite only site. I've tried going to adminCP -> user registration and disabling "Allow New User Registrations"

Then in adminCP -> Invitation System Options and Enabled the "Invitation System"
and Disable Normal Registration Methods I put "YES"

Am I missing something?

When I invite someone, they get the email and when they click the link it says "Sorry, registration has been disabled by the administrator"

2 can we know this user been register by which invited user? so we can disable the option from him

I have read each and every post in this thread. And I've noticed there are some things missing that I feel would need to be addressed.

Have all of the invite emails cued to send subject to admin or mod approval. Batch mail out or bulk mailer. What ever it's called. Or maybe an automatic function that would send them out in mass. At a fixed time once per day.

While the mail is sitting in the cue, have the invite system do the following:
Check to see if more than one member has sent an invite to the same email name and address before it goes out. Some sort of notice message saying so and so has already been invited. This would make the users have to send invites to different addresses each time. This would prevent users from sending mail over and over to the same email address. I would assume it would have to check the time and date of the outgoing invites and determine whose got cued first and send that one. Then give the notice message to the member that sent the dup.

I would do away with the member added message. Too open for abuse. Either that or make sure they could not attach an image or a link. Matter of fact if they can see the outbound message I would make it a hard coded example and that would be all they could see of it.

Maybe I missed it but if I didn't, there needs to be a status page added to the stats in the ACP.

I couldn't find anything about this, but when I delete a user I get this error:
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /.../includes/class_dm_user.php(2127) : eval()'d code on line 1

If I disable the Invitation Userdata 2 plugin which hooks to userdata_delete then I don't get the error.

Has anyone else have this issue?

This looks like a very cool mod - i've installed on 3.7 (rc4) and when i try to invite somebody, i get the following error msg:

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing or mismatched.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error.

I have another request that I hope you will like enough to add:

Referrals in postbit.
If the number of referrals would be visible in postbit, then it would really increase the use of the invitation system.

I know there already is a hack which does that, but it causes large table scans, which means it brings large boards to dramatically slow down. There is really no way for me to use that hack. Plus the other hack is no longer supported.

Just to clarifiy, if set to YES, does this option mean that the standard vBulletin Regsistration is diabled abd people can't use it to sign up for the system.

Invitations can expire after number of X days in the next verison.

Update will be available shortly after 3.7 Final is out.

Can probably fixed by adding the CSRF stuff to the templates and the scripts. I haven't tried because I'm not running RC4. I'm waiting for the final. Once out the security token stuff will be included.

Can be easily done in the next version with one SQL query. I'll post the query once the next verison is out.

That's corrent. When activated you run an invitation only forum.

For the next version I settle with Gmail and Yahoo. The others plus CSV upload will follow later. My time is currently very limited and the other services don't have a near concatc CSV download as Gmail and Yaahoo habe. I'm just waiting for 3.7 Final to be released, update my production forum and then release an updated 3.7 version.

You need to manually update your templates if the link doesn't show up. Next version will be complete auto-template.

Not planned for the next verison, but flagged for the future.

The next verison sets the referrerid correctly and doesn't allow the user to overwrite the informatin when registering.

The fix for using table prefixes was already posted in this thread. Please check a few pages back...

The mod uses the vbmail function. If you setup you vbulletin to queue mail, invitation emails will also be queued.

Only one invitation per email address is allowed. You cannot sent multiple invitations to the same email address.

This is an interesting hack... but what would be great would be something that can import contacts from MSN, Yahoo, GMail and send them an invite.

Those are being incorporated in the next release. Can't wait!

OK, Here's the Million dollar question. Is there a way to make invites overide paid memberships? My board we be membership based soon but I want to give certain members the ability to invite people for free.

I installed this mod, and while I'm able to access the configuration options and the "Click here to invite new users" link shows up, the invites cannot be sent.

Whether or not the CAPTCHA is enabled or not (and if it's enabled, whether or not the CAPTCHA text is entered correctly or not), the following error (by itself on a blank page) is displayed:Any idea what may be causing this? This mod would be very useful indeed so I would like to get it working! :)
