cool, now it works

Paradigm 03-04-2008 11:30 AM

I installed the new version, when I look at the Admin panel section it looks like this. Is it supposed to look like that? Also how do I run a cron job?

Did you installed the product XML? Check version of the product, it should be 3.7.8

Paradigm 03-04-2008 12:27 PM

yuo need to upload all the files ... and press F5 in the ACP ...

Phalynx 03-04-2008 12:30 PM

Strange. It should look like here:
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...6&d=1204628527

I have no clue why the phrases are missing. You could check the phrases:
xperience_admin_recount
xperience_admin_stats_level
xperience_admin_settings
xperience_admin_settings_points

If they are not here, you could uninstall the product (level product not required) and install again. You will have to run recount after install.

Paradigm 03-04-2008 01:28 PM

Thanks for you help guys. I just needed to log out and log back in.

Paradigm 03-04-2008 02:51 PM

I do not see any of the awards. What could I be doing wrong?

koke 03-04-2008 04:04 PM

Hello that it did the up grade of mod but it turns out that the prizes I am not someone happens to operate the same?

hubba 03-04-2008 04:07 PM

Did you run scheduled tasks/vBExperience Award for the first time?

I don't understand this, please specify more.

There is a missing level up bar, did you modified the template xperience_gfx?

MaxiMal 03-04-2008 08:11 PM

I install vbexperience_level_4_huge.xml config.
It is too much the users above 70lvl.

Please run this query:
Code:

select award_community from xperience_stats order by award_community desc
---- Don't forget to add your table prefix. ----

Do you get 3,2,1,0,0,0,0.... ?

Points for reputation: 0.1
Points for tags: 0.5
Points for thread votes: 5
Points for posts: 1
other setting from vbexperience_level_4_huge.xml

it's optimal for my forum

q:
Ignore Groups: 3 (Users Awaiting Email Confirmation )
but in xperience.php show all 14028 users (after Update vBExperience points)

thanks.
do you need Russia lang?

shlomot 03-05-2008 07:39 AM

Installed this robust and excellent MOD. What I'm missing though is more visibility of member's rating throughout the forum, unless I missed something.

If a member excels, or active, in the forum, it should show everywhere in supporting others, or it shows with the Extended Reputation Display mod.

However, thanks again for a massive product.

Ignore Usergroups is currently not implemented - as it states in settings for this.

Yes, would be great.

Please explain more... Do you wish to see more visibility how the users points are calculated? Every User has all points that are calculated visible in his profile.

Instead of trying to step into much bigger shoes than my true design skills award, I'll just spell out what I'm trying to achieve and maybe some other members here will join forces and recommend how to implement it.

You engineered here a second-to-none statistical MOD, but it has only a passive contribution to one of our primary goals - to encourage our users to write more, help others more, and in general - improve their contribution rate to the forum. The chief psychological way to achieve that is through recognition. Show them the way to become recognized as greater contributors and they'll go for the bait.

That means that user rating, title, awards, etc. should show everywhere and anyway possible (next to their name); either as a textual title, icon, color scheme, etc.

As of now, you need to make special efforts in order to check activity scores of another user. That may be a good management tool for the administrator, but it isn't the optimal podium for the common member to be seen and brag about his or her excellence.

I hope that I made sense, and thanks again for your great work.

Phalynx 03-05-2008 11:51 AM

Thanks for the flowers. Indeed I created that mod to achieve exactly what you described - to encourage users to be more active. The main visual "punch line" is visible for everyone in the postbit - the center of every discussion. The first bar displays how advanced a user is, the second one is really secondary and can be hide as it is only interesting for the user self, last but not least the last bar shows the users activity in relation to others.

Espacially in combination with vBulletin 3.7 there are a few more interesting extensions like social groups, real friends an not unconfirmed buddies, visitor messages, tags, etc...

To accomplish the more visible thing I created also the promotion system. By reaching defined xperience points the user will be moved to another usergroup - where you can set graphics, shadows, highlighting, etc... What is interesting in combination with this: you can give the user more possibilities f.e. larger avatars or bigger PM box.

Yes those are the results that it gave me.

Phalynx 03-05-2008 12:32 PM

Are all xperience-templates reverted?

I have not altered any of the templates but I will check.

Paradigm 03-05-2008 01:46 PM

xperience_gfx had to be reverted. I'm not really sure why but its fixed. Thanks for your help once again!

Phalynx 03-05-2008 02:16 PM

For 3.7.9 I created an overview of the awards. What do you think about it?
Demo:
http://www.insidesupcom.de/xperience...wards&langid=1

I have to create Icons for new "Helpful"-Award

shlomot 03-06-2008 02:31 AM

Thanks again for a great product, and for taking the time to show me the big picture.

shlomot 03-06-2008 02:57 AM

Dear Phalynx,

Using the latest version (3.7.8), no awards are showing anywhere on the forum. I made sure that cron is running and even run it manually a few times.

Phalynx 03-06-2008 06:07 AM

Now they are showed. What did you?
Are you sure you ran the cron "vBExperience Awards"?

shlomot 03-06-2008 06:21 AM

I've no clue as to what has happened since. The cron log shows normal activity and I even run it couple of times manually. I'm just glad to see that things are working now and that "numbers talk" :) Thank you for your support.

This looks awesome... thanks a lot. I will definitely install this when I have spare minute. :D

leanbulk 03-06-2008 08:12 PM

It seems like this mod is working for everyone except one of my moderators whos stats are as follows:

Awards:
Points: -17,022
Level: 1

Level up: 1%
Points needed: 17,072

Activity: 100%

Why would this be?

Any why are my top two users blank??

http://leanbulk.com/forum/xperience.php

Dzelil 03-06-2008 09:01 PM

awards show up in the vbexperience list but not in the postbit section, how do I make it show up in postbit?

You are using a too low level product. Take a bigger one, don't forget to recount after importing new levels.

This is a feature that will be introduced in 3.7.9, which is not yet available to the public.

Dzelil 03-06-2008 09:24 PM

oh ok

haha, weird. I only have 700 members. I will give it a try though

leanbulk 03-07-2008 12:08 AM

Updated to average and this one mod is still the only guy that is messed up. I don't get it.

Phalynx 03-07-2008 06:39 AM

Nevermind, fixed that in 3.7.9

Triky 03-07-2008 09:28 AM

Could be this converted to a *money system*? Something like vBux/Plaza..
I think it will be great.
Experience -> Converted to Money.
Level -> Points converted to Rank
etc.

Phalynx 03-07-2008 10:47 AM

Feel free to do this, just rename the phrases...

Phalynx 03-07-2008 11:59 AM
