Quota does not showing for Registered Users, I have tried to install it on 3 different boards on different servers, even tried to install clean installed vBUlletin but the it does now show when composing new Email

Q: is there a way to *VERY* easily post an email that is received ?

ie. I receive an email. I'd like to be able to right click on one and select "Post".. it would automatically go to a pre-defined forum.

There is a function ... abeit not working ... that used to accomplish a email 2 forum thing.

Is it possible to set this to only one paid subscription user group? Also when their subscription expires, will access to the email system be taken away?

I have VIP users and I want only CURRENT VIP Users to be able to use this.

I'm really sorry about not being around much lately... there've been all sorts of issues, mostly dealing with school and my dad having an unexpected major surgery; my life has not had a lot of free time. I'm going out of town for the next couple weeks, and would really like to be able to start working on this again when I get back, but there's really no guarantees that it'll happen right away. If someone would like to take it on as their own hack, I'm fine with that, but if not, I'll definitely get back to improving it this summer either way.

Not to sound selfish, but part of the issue is money as well. I've been programming for a third of my short life, and making some decent money... I figured, with all of the people offering donations in the original thread for someone to fix this up, that working on this might have some monetary benefit. I have yet to receive a single cent from it. I don't mind doing free open-source work at all, or I wouldn't have done this in the first place, but do understand that, as a result of not getting anything out of improving the vBMS, this takes a lower priority to the paid hacks and web design work I do.

Thanks for your understanding... I really do enjoy working on this project, and will be glad to return to it as soon as I can, but it's just not the highest thing on my priority list right now and as such I can't offer a definite timeline for anything.

I have disabled this untill it's updated as i'm finding more and more problems.
Flood checking set to 1 won't let user send emails at all, i also had a new user that had not verified his email in vb but still gained access to vbms even though i had access set to No for users awaiting email comfirmation.
parts of vbms did seem ok before i upgraded vb but now it don't seem to work very well at all.

I am more than willing to donate for this addon, but for that there has to exist a version which is more or less bug-free. And i currently seem to be cursed, because once i donated or paid for a (beta-)script or hack, the devolopment of it suddenly stops.

But once something is up and running at my board, i always donate for it. Yes, really!

Try re-uploading vbms_checkmail.php sounds like something might have been corrupted on the transfer as line 4 should just be part of a comment block.

is there any timetable on this going final? i am getting the cant connect to server error when i try to install it but i dont think ours will connect at all because we specifically close off the pop3 port and only use imap for email. do you just change the port? or does it use pop3 even though it needs the imap functionality?

I am sure that the port number is 110 and the hostname is my domain name

this hack seems to be quite buggy. installed it a week ago and now my vbms_messages table is 750+MB in size Killing my server (2.8GHZ + 2GB RAM) (9.0 8.9 8.5 load) ... 1000x copies of same email been saved :o and only 45people are using it.

Quota system does not seem to work and people can bypass it...

Cron seem to run all the time when a user/guest visits the forumhome...

try "143" port instead of 110.

Do not install this version of vBMS on your live forums. Use a test server instead. This is a pre-final version of vBMS, meaning it still contains bugs and needs further testing. If you install this version of vBMS onto a production server, it may be difficult to later uninstall or upgrade to the final version.

Correct, this is still in beta test, not for a live vB forums site.till the author returns and finishes work on this project. I suggest that you donate $$ to the author, for him to come back and get working on this project if this is something you want to use in a live website forum.

Well, I don't mind donating for a hack like this (still have to test it though), but when I'm the only one I might as go out on the ocean and throw it in the water as that should resemble the amount of guarantee I would get of seeing anything in return, ever.

I have everything working just fine, except for the Headers of the emails, when they are written in Greek language (iso-8859-7).

I get this kind of characters in the email title instead of the greek characters (note that inside the email body, everything shows up just fine):

"=?ISO-8859-7?B?zuHt3CD05fP0?="
