I have just noticed that I get an error when entering a new glossary term via the user frontend.

I get:

Warning: array_merge() [function.array-merge]: Argument #1 is not an array in /glossary.php (Line 739)

It would also be cool if terms that are entered in all caps via the frontend are stored as all caps.
Currently I can only enter all Caps terms via the Backend.

Thanks for the info, I'll look into that. So this error happens when you enter all caps? Also I might have a no caps setting so that might be why its not working.

No, this error comes every time.

The CAPS was a different matter.
I have a medical forum and I use the glossary to explain medical terms.
Many of the short terms however are spelled in all caps and I have to change them manualy again when editing/accepting them via the ACP

I don't know how much energy you plan to put into this hack further, but if you want to spend some more time on it, I think we should discuss the handling routines in the backend for approving/adding/editing terms in the glossary.
Because currently it's usable but not practical.

I just uploaded all the files again, enabled crosslinking again and still, when trying to view a thread, the entire top header outputs that error message and where the thread should display outputs this message instead:

Unable to add cookies, header already sent.

the Mod is great and i love it!

But i have 2 questions:

- Is there a way, to make sub-categories?

- And ... the crosslinking ... ;) The work around (,?!) works - but it is not usefull... Sorry, this must be. :D

otto: No there is no options for sub-categories as for the crosslinking, you don't need to add ,.?! at the end of every word, thats only if for example all you have in your post is that word, thats when you have to do that if you want it to work. Other then that you can just spell out the word in your post and as long as there is a space after the word it will work.

roni1015: Sorry I havn't a clue as to why you are having this error. Try to disbale crosslink and see if it still comes up.

thanks for the answer and i have another questions:

1. It is posible to exclude any category from the search? So, that when i have 3 categories, but make only 2 of them, or only 1, searchable at same time. (When i have many categorys, the searchresults are a litle bit to much.)

2. I cant serch in the custom fields - searchable is only the Titel and the Editor-Textbox. Is there any way to search in all (also in the custom fields) ?

What i did
i made an entry.. through front end.. --> works fine

I wanted to edit the entry.. (modifying the body) through front end.. AND it tells me i am not allowed to make duplicate entries !!!

BUT: If I modify the entry TITLE just by one letter.. the edit is OK

then.. playing around a little more i modified the title (always through the front end) and added a : -) (smiley symbol) ... i then could not open the category page anymore..

IE says the page cannot be displayed... (the term is correctly displayed in the admin panel)

I then deleted the : -) (without space) at the end of the term in the admin panel AND the page could be displayed once again..

I have all options activated... html, cross.. etc.. etc..

Just wanted to mention these issues otherwise I am enthousiastic about it

I already did disable it and that fixes the problem, but I really love the crosslinking feature. Really LOVE it. I'll cry if I can't use the crosslinking. Really I will. :(

In the AdminCP i can search in any categorie in the glossary - but, in the glossary self, i can only search in ALL categories. Is there an option, parameter or so, to search in a specialiy category only and not in all?

what i seek, is an option to search only in one category - in the AdminCP its ok, but in the glossary...

Sorry about the late replies and lack of support this little bit, will be trying to get a new update by the end of the month, but no promises. Depends on how busy I am with my other work.

otto: At this time, no there is no options to do that for the search by category on the user side, however its a very good idea! Will have to work on this idea in the future. With the custom fields, its not a option right now but I don't think it'd be an option for it. I just don't know if its something everyone might like. Of course the custom fields is something new to the system, after the search option was created. With the search issue do you mean by default it searching in a certain category? If so no there is no option right now.

derfelix: There is a bug with the duplicate terms, normally if you edit a term there is a check to see if its the right term its editing. Read this https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=202 link if you need a fix for now until the next release is out. With the : -) I will have to look into and see if I can recreate this issue.

roni1015: Don't cry lol. One day I'll fix it, I'm just not the greatest at this so I don't know everything.

Eagle Creek: Ah I didn't mean to create so many phrases lol. However I do want to make sure the phrases used with the glossary don't cross with vb, just so for example vb updates something it won't mess anything with the script related to the phrases anyway changes you might have done lol.

chefsache: Crosslinkg doesn’t work at 100%. However check to make sure you have the crosslink options all turned to on in the glossary settings.

What about exporting/importing/downloading all terms to transfer them to another site/forum?

I'm playing with the idea, don't know how to work it with the glossary as well if it would work for big databases. In my CMS hack I've created a settings importer/exporter which works great, but I don't know if it would be good or wise for this.

i have one question about the crosslinking background. I know that crosslinking is not workin 100%. But for my site it works quite well. i just have a litte problem with the crosslinked-tiem background. it is transparent. because of that i have (hovering over the link) two glossaritems over eachother which makes everything pretty much unreadable. I tried to change the crosslinking tooltip background but i wasn't successful. which me be because i am not very good at programming ;)

is it possible to change the bachground of the crosslinktooltip or is this mone of the issues which makes the crosslinking not working 100%???

sethdeblade: Sounds like you've are missing something when you installed. Make sure you have added the new CSS settings codes added to your Main CSS in vbulletin or your custom CSS if you have one your using for your CSS instead of vb's. Its in the manuel, if you upgraded from the older version the CSS for it has changed.

One thing: is it intended, that glossaritems can't be edited when not in the adminarea??
I tried to edit one item in glossary.php. When i wanted to save the changes it tells me that there is already one item existing with that name. i can only edit via acp. Is that correct??

How do I make it open directly into my single glossary? (I only have one glossary category)? I had done this in earlier version, but code has changed, and can not make it work?

I didn't see this as an option in the settings? Where should I look?

Edit: img-bbcode is ok, the img-tag also - but, there is no button in the Editor for it :-/ The best thing where, when the attachment-function is aviable for terms... ;-) Is there any way for it?

interfx: There is no option right now. What you could do for right as a quick fix is just change the navbar link to 'glossary.php?do=listglossary&c=1' instead of ''glossary.php'.

otto: There is no attachment function but you should be able to use img-bbcode. Maybe in the future I will have time to work on this some more.

I'm getting an error saying that Internet Explorer cannot load the url, http://myforum... whenever crosslinking is enabled. It loads the page, then the error pops up and it goes to a 404 page. it only does this like half the time though, the other half it works fine

Is there an way, to chance the color of the crosslink? By default they is the same as a normal hyperlink.
I search a way, to make the crosslink black, and leav the normal hyperlink (blue).

Leertaste, just edit entries in the Admin Control Panel, not in the glossary. Or delete it and start over.

If I edit these in the AdminCP, moderators cannot edit. This to delete and create new would be too complex.

Leertaste: The next verison will have the main issues fixed like the editing bug on the user side. If you need a quick fix please read the following post: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showpost....&postcount=202 This post has a fix to the problem you are having so you will be able to edit it normally.

A big question / task: any possible way to import the entire Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary?
Biblegateway.com shows 662 terms in total, so its not huge in a sense. Its a matter of somehow
converting the database to this hack's / vbulletin's. That, I do not know how to do.

Any help would truly be appreciated.

Another bug (guessing): It does not warn if duplicate entries.

Ok, to sum up what I've noticed as possible bugs or at least feedback for new features:

Bugs
- assumes duplicate entry when editing and attempting to save glossary term via glossary main page
(There is already a glossary term named 'Abel'. You may not create duplicate names.)
- does not work apparently in password protected forum
- not all glossary terms show up oddly
(example, "Christ" does not show up even though I've added it and active, but "Bible" does)
- if a word is posted in bold and it happens to be a glossary term, the mindestic hack removes the bold bbcode

Features
- mass add terms
- custom layout on glossary main page
- ability to customize the underlining of glossary terms in thread view
- ability to place the glossary's search script/field anywhere (such as forumhome)

i know that crosslinking is buggy but i would like to mention one thing as i don't know if it was already mentioned.

If there is a short word in the glossar e.g. two letters these two letters are linked everywhere where the occure at the end of words. E.g. glossar entry "re" and word "andere" (engl. other) the last two letters are marked even though they are out of context.

Could you please make the crosslinking only look for the WORDS written in the glossar and not part of words??

Could you do it so BBCode is parsed in the custom fields? For example, if a custom field called "photo" is created and a user adds [img]http://www.link_to_photo/photo.jpg[/img] a photo is shown instead of the code.

Not sure how hard this would be to do, but it would work like a charm in my case...others I'm sure wouldn't mind it either :)

It randomely loads this error when loading the page, and sometimes it works fine. If you hit ok, it goes to the error page, if you hit the back button, it goes and reloads the page.

You have written a great AddOn. I have a hint for the crosslinking feature. A word with two hyphens is not crosslinked, with one hyphen it is

For example: In my glossar is the entry "Henderson-Hasselbalch-Gleichung". It is not corsslinked, but "pH-Wert" is. It would be great if this could be fixed in a future version.
