I've made a template edit here that allows the users on the forum to choose how they want to display them within the forum display. They can choose column, inline, or off.

redlabour 05-13-2007 08:37 AM

Uninstalled since 3.6.6 - to much work after every Update. Waiting for a Product that takes the Templatechanges.

LeeCHeSSS 05-14-2007 08:19 AM

Hmm, if Mystics does not update this to use automatic template changes, I can create it (it's relatively easy to do).

Sounds nice - maybe you want to contact him via PM to discuss this?

Yepp - Filechanges are done in 2 Minutes every Update ... but now at 3.6.6 after i see the Templatechanges again .......

And i have my Board full of Products - but Threadprefix is the only one with more than 2 small Changes. Hope for a Update that uses the Hooks.

proxx 05-16-2007 08:21 AM

I have installed the 3.6.7
Then re-applied the template changes on the templates that were reverted.

Now the prefixes are not showing on FORUMDISPLAY

does anyone know how to fix it ?

Jelmertjee 05-16-2007 06:31 PM

yeah... this is quite annoying, some other mods work far better with version changes.. anyway, a product would be greatly appreciated instead!

harley_m 05-17-2007 10:47 AM

I have a question I could really use some help on, as I am about to launch an update to my site with a whole new forum/site and would love to be able to take full advantage of the thread prefix system I have installed

I am using thread prefixes to warn of content that could upset people (I run a support forum) and it would be exceedingly useful to be able to filter results in a forum knowing all the results were safe to read. Members could before prefixes just manually place the prefix in the thread title, but if this system could allow them to steer clear of threads that they do not want to see, then this brings a whole new aspect to things.

With thread prefixes you already get a filter box, but that searches for threads with a prefix, not threads without.

Would there be any way of modifying that filter box (or putting another next to it) that would allow my members to exclude all threads for displaying that had a certain prefix?

If it requires work I would be willing to pay for it, but we are non profit so it couldn't be masses

Thanks so much

Harley

dbirosel 05-22-2007 05:45 AM

I didn't upgrade to 3.6.7 yet. If i have this installed and want this mod to stay up, would you guys recommend to not upgrade till we get an update on this modification?

proxx 05-24-2007 08:16 PM

dOES THIS mod work for anyone with 3.6.7 ?

Milad 05-26-2007 02:47 PM

I hope you can release this without any need to edit templates or files like "Post Thank You" hack does after releasing of 3.6.6

Deadly Assassin 05-28-2007 05:41 AM

I started to install this and it was going fine, but then i found i was missing some code and could not complete the install.

However, now after trying to reverse the procedure, i am left with half the mod installed.

When you go to forums/moderators it has the thread prefix options. Now when i delete a thread or post, i get an error and a white blank page.

If i then refresh, it goes back to my board stating 'i have not deleted anything', even though its now gone.

I really need this mod taken out, so if the auther or anybody that really knows their stuff can help, then please get back to me.

Thanks in advance.

LeeCHeSSS 05-29-2007 09:49 AM

Snake 06-01-2007 03:08 PM

Damn! Is this hack ever gonna get updated or what?

daviblight 06-04-2007 11:13 AM

i kept getting the error message when trying to view my forums after installing the mod:

Warning: Unknown(/home/concept/public_html/forums/includes/functions_threadprefix.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /global.php(366) : eval()'d code on line 145

the state of hacks for the vbulletin community is in a pretty bad shape.

I wish some of these popular hacks would become commercial ....so we have a chance to at least pay and have something working :(

???????

fox3nova 06-09-2007 07:44 AM

could this mod combine with vB Event Forums ?

FleXy 06-13-2007 11:15 AM

cool modification, click install, but didn't install, because to much vb files need to be edited.
it's not usefull because megration to the new version of vbulletin become too hard.

harley_m 06-14-2007 03:58 PM

Had this installed for a while during a testing period, worked great, now the community as a whole love it too. Well done and thank you!

However, they request that the prefix comes AFTER the title, ie on the right hand side, rather then before the title, on the left. Not in it's own column, but in a forum when you are viewing all the threads.

Since I suspect that the code is in showthreads.php I don't want to mess about unless I know what I am doing.

Anyone know how I might do this?

Thanks again Mystics for this great mod!

Harley

tienkhom 06-15-2007 04:46 AM

How Can I add more prefix to 1 topic, for example: London is: England and Europe

Terrasoft 06-21-2007 10:41 AM

So for confirmation...does this work with 3.6.7?

Im gonna try it out now, I hope nothing goes wrong.

Shazz 06-21-2007 02:21 PM

/me marks uninstall

Terrasoft 06-21-2007 11:11 PM

It works perfectly on 3.6.7 PL1.

^_^ Just letting everyone know.

Paul M 06-21-2007 11:46 PM

Yep, we run it here.

I think we have done at least one bug fix in the last year, but other than that it's still working fine.

Eq4bits 06-23-2007 01:20 AM

Installed back when I was running 3.6.0 and no problems during the upgrades since then. One question if anyone might know: Is there any way to have the prefix show up with the thread title in the notification email when subscribed to the thread? I'm sure it's a simple email/notification template prefix, but I can't find the dang things in my vBoptions>style manager>template options>edit templates

proxx 06-26-2007 06:41 AM

This still doesn't work for me.

This is how the show thread looks:

The prefix doesn't show and everything gets put in the wrong column (although within the thread the prefix is shown).

If i set the "show thread prefixes in extra column / alignment to "NO" the showhread.php is not broken anymore, but still the prefixes aren't showing.

Could someone give an idea how to fix this?

Seiyaboy 06-26-2007 11:43 PM

Awesome mod. Thank you so much.

SLY LS1 06-27-2007 01:29 PM

Great Mod,

Took awhile to do all the template changes but worked perfect in 3.6.7 without any issues.

Only 1 suggestion id make and that would be to include all the template changes in a text file in the download as the install file doesnt show up all the changes, the only way I could find them was to use the copy feature...

But other than that its a great mod,

cheers
SLY

Yours 06-29-2007 10:07 PM

Just wondering, could someone provide me with the code, to customize this MOD.

I would like to see if anyone knows what modefications i have to do to this mod to be able to have two prefix.

Members
Guest

Members should be able to see all the content..

Guest should be only be able to see threads that are prefixed Guest.

So if a guest clicks on a member thread. Maybe a pop up will come up saying for example..

"The thread you are trying to view is for members only"
Press Ok to resgister. or cancel to go back to the forum section were he was originally.

I might be asking for a lot, but am not sure... Am not much of a coder and would really like that..

Thank you.

Im having trouble with the installation link (http://www.yourdomain.com/forum/admi...fixinstall.php) - it comes up as ERROR 404 Not Found even after replacing my domain name with [yourdomain]. Any advice?

WarDoGG 07-01-2007 10:40 PM

Doesnt work with vbAdmanagement !!

In threadbit , the ads come up in place of the prefix..

Look at the screenshot..

One bug I found when helping track down a conflict a user of one of my hacks was having with this modification was the following:

In the plugin Prefix: Query Prefix in Search Forums (Thread) the variable $hook_query_fields is being declared instead of appended. This will cause conflict with any modification using this same hook location. So, in order to properly fix this replace the contents of the plugin with:

Prefix: Query Prefix in Search Forums (Thread):
PHP Code:

$hook_query_fields .= ', thread.threadprefix'

Note the addition of a '.' (period) before the '=' (equals).

That should do it. :)
