Well,i found found out that this hack will create a bug with Registered Members usergroup's PMs.They will not be able to send PMs to anyone, only Admins,Mods are not affected.I've tested it on vb3.63 to 3.66,th error is the same. The error will display like this

Quote:

Invalid SQL:

I'm not sure if this was working before my upgrade to 3.67 or not but the ONLY thing I want this add-on to do is disable live links based on post counts - in signatures as well as in posts. I've just had a new member post a live link in a signature with post #1 while I have it set to a requirement of 5 posts before posting links.

Hiding signature links is not the issue for me - I don't want to hide anything that a member can legitimately post. I just want live links of any kind for new members to be disabled - period.

Suggestions?

Can you do the same but based on user's THREAD count?

Thanks for a great product.

I second this. At least I now know why the rss bot is not working. But I need the advanced permissions plugin as well. Would love to see this part fixed. It was mentioned that the new version fixed it. But still not working.

I also noticed that the RSS Feed is still not working even in version 4.0. I had to disable this hack until a fix is found

Adam21 05-27-2007 11:37 AM

Do any of you who've installed this mod, your forum members cant send out PMs or is it just me only?

Kadi 05-27-2007 05:12 PM

This is a major problem for me, because most of my indexed threads on google start out with the no viewing link viewing permission line as it starts out with an image.

WiseOne38221 06-26-2007 10:57 PM

Thanks again, Cyb! This DOES work with 3.6.7 PL1, BUT it ONLY stops links from posting, NOT e-mails...is this a bug?

rc1320 06-30-2007 03:12 PM

I have installed this plug in but can not get it to block any first posts by users where they post urls in their message.

I don't know what the direct problem is but I am not seeing the list of forums when I click the specify which forums I want this to be active in. When I click the options for individual forum, I am taken to the forum manager, when I click for all existing forums, I am taken to a page show different smile icons http://smartcarofamerica.com/forums/...apboupc_setall.

Has anyone else experienced this? I must stop these spammers!

vze2yqtm 07-01-2007 11:15 PM

This hack is great. It's cut my spam down to almost zero. Thank you very much for making it.

rc1320 07-02-2007 12:27 AM

I can not get this hack to stop user from posting links in their first or second posts. I t does stop them from sending PM's but nothing against links. I believe it may be working but I am unable to select which forums to block the links from.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

Mrdby 07-05-2007 01:01 PM

i set a post count on the forums..now its not working.

verbs 07-05-2007 10:45 PM

Any word on preventing links from being posted in signatures? This hack is great but now all the spammers are using their signature to spam.

Don't allow them to have a sig untill which ever using promotion system

mcyates 07-07-2007 09:29 AM

Is it possible to change this so it takes a look at the post count for the past 24 hours. As I want people to make 5 posts all together in the football related forum in the past 24 hours, before they can post in the general forums.

Now that will pretty much guarantee you a LOT of crap posts.

AzzidReign 07-08-2007 02:26 PM

Is there anyway that on an updated version, we can get a post count restriction for voting on polls? I'm not sure how many people have contests where they use the polls but I do as well as many other graphic sites and my biggest concern is having people have their friends come to the site, sign up and keep voting for them without contributing anything to the community.

Just a suggestion :P

Great add-on. *Installed*

ecollier12012 07-17-2007 02:38 AM

I have CYB up and running in one of my test forums but can't seem to get it to work with youtube or google videos...

I am using the SEO Video mod to insert videos directly into a post.
Example:

When I set the CYB options to restric viewing images or links it works great.
I don't see the video....

The problem is I also don't see the message....
"To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts."

The message works fine for all other images....just not the videos.
How can I get it to display the message for videos?

kollam003 07-18-2007 09:42 AM

thanks 4 the release

Clicked INSTALL

I would triple this - I am using this to block spammers and they are just tickled to include their email addresses in lieu of a URL...

PS. Installed.

zerk 07-24-2007 03:27 PM

Wow.

I was on phpBB a few days ago, I've added 4 or 5 mods to that system to try to stop the spam bot registration and spam posts. Nothing was working. I went to vBulletin and that number DROPPED, SIGNIFICANTLY. I noticed I was still having issues with HUMAN spam posts, so I installed this. If they want to go through the trouble of getting a minimum number of posts before they can post links, and do so in a favorable way, I will let them link, after all, all sites start somewhere. But this come once and never again stuff had to stop.

Great mod.

Kadi 07-27-2007 11:45 AM

Has anyone using this hack upgraded to 3.6.8?

Thanks.

Well....

First I installed the French traduction from this mod (V3.3)

Had a database error

Invalid SQL:
INSERT INTO vb_pm (pmtextid, userid ) VALUES (10, )

OK Uninstall that version.. check the forum to discover the 4.0 version. I've tried to install (without any problem) the hack.....

But unfortunately I have the same problem.. Only Admin can send PM... All other users can't...

Any idea ?

Thx in advance.

dbirosel 07-30-2007 05:51 PM

Subscribed for later use. Thanks Cyb!

any news about this?

0tolerance 08-04-2007 01:37 AM

Excellent mod.... its certainly popular for having 1000 downloads in one day
0Tolerance installs!!

Greek76 08-10-2007 04:29 PM

Dont you think users should not be able to read new reply's to threads on the forum that they are not allowed to access till they have met minimum post counts? I find that very strange does not make sense. But still a great hack!

Smitty 08-10-2007 06:07 PM

There are some weird bugs. One I found is that in my case (I only use it to keep people from posting URLs and/or email addresses until they have a minimum post count) if someone puts in a URL and gets the error message, when they edit the post they can put in an email address and it will post the email address rather than give the email error. It does keep someone from posting an email address if they don't post a url but do post an email address. Yes, the settings in the admin CP are correct for email.

Since all I use it for is to help thwart spammers, it's just one more roadblock for them to get through to post.

Spike05 08-15-2007 01:05 PM

I have a little problem with this mod.

I have installed the version 4.0. After I activate the Forum/Thread permissions i had the following problem. When I click on New Posts in the Browser Header (see at the screenshot) will not show Search Results. It show a Forum Name.

Would be great if it could also work for secondary usergroups.

So that members who have an excluded usergroupID as secondary usergroup, get excluded also.

Kalina 08-18-2007 03:38 PM

I am only using this to prevent new members from posting live links and it does not work.
