varkjie 06-18-2007 03:54 AM

I have installed this and when I enter flashchat it says a diffrent member is in that chat room other than myself for example my name is "varkjie" it says the "jessej" is in the chat area.... whats the deal with this? do you think I need to re install the chat??? Also My member or myself do not log in automatically when we enter the room we need to manually enter a password and username?

Paul M 06-18-2007 10:34 AM

You have not integrated it correctly.

Just installed this after upgrading to flashchat 4.7.11 and it worked straight out of the box using vbulletin 3.6.7

Guest210212002 06-25-2007 02:36 AM

Paul, is there a way to get '$totalchatters' to work outside of the template? I have a link to the chat room in a tab at the top of my navbar, and it'd be slick to have "Chat Room (11)" where 11 is the number of people in the room.

I tried moving $totalchatters, $chatters, etc to the navbar, but for some reason it doesn't display the number anywhere but in the Display_Chatters template. :)

Paul M 06-25-2007 10:35 AM

If you put it in the header you would need to change the hook to global_start - atm it only runs the code on the forum homepage.

Guest210212002 06-26-2007 08:31 PM

That worked for the header, thanks man. :)

Unfortunately, setting both to global_start seemed to kill the template itself, since I no longer get the list of who's in the chat in the WGO box.

Paul M 06-26-2007 08:32 PM

4.42 Released.

This has a number of new options (some of which will be added to other mods of mine over the next few weeks).

1. The Auto Template (ATCS) options have been updated, inc adding the option to change the template used.

2. A code run option has been added to choose if the mod runs just on the forumhome or all pages.

3. The usergroups option has been updated so that you can allow all usergroups, or include just those listed, or exclude just those listed.

The basic modification has not changed so you only need to upgrade if you want to use the new options.

You only should have changed one, not both. However, if you use v4.42 (above) you just need to change an option. :)

You, sir, rock. http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/ima...ies/hookem.gif

That worked perfectly.

I have no connection with the Flashchat product - if you have questions about Flashchat functionality then their forums are located here.

This integration isn't showing up on my new skin that I installed. Can you tell me how I can manually edit my html in order to get this to display in my Who' Online area? I'm currently running vb3.6.7.

popowich 07-24-2007 06:13 PM

Hoping someone here may have a quick answer.

I am seeing the following in my error logs:
Quote:

[Tue Jul 24 15:05:02 2007] [error] [client 66.135.44.164] File does not
exist: /my/path/to/inc/cmses/aedatingCMS.php
Is this an old version hack attempt or something? My only file in there is the vBulletin CMS that comes with the package.

Paul M 07-24-2007 07:34 PM

Yes, it's probably someone trying to exploit a security hole that was present in the aedatingCMS.php file (about a year ago).

lifanovsky 07-27-2007 11:00 AM

I import the product via ACP, but nothing appears on the forum home page. Integration with Flashchat installed and works fine. But I guess this mod for some reason can''t alter my FORUMHOME template. Is there any way to insert this section into the FORUMHOME manually? Thank you in advance.

Paul M 07-27-2007 11:40 AM

This has all the settings you need to do that in the options (ATCS settings).

Transverse Styles 07-31-2007 12:33 AM

Yep, i went into the admin cp options and I can't edit anything ... nothing appears on the FORUMHOME template, even after saying the options.

Same here. I am on the second version of vb 3.6.8 and use version 4.4.2. I noted that in the Installed Products list, it lists that I have installed 4.4.2, but that 4.4.1 is the latest version.
Please advise.

@Transverse_styles: nice skins BTW.

Right, and I used these options, but with no luck. Ended up with manually inserting the template into FORUMHOME, though I just wonder why it didn''t work automatically...

Zaiaku 08-03-2007 12:34 AM

I have a question about this. It reports a using is in the chatroom when they left a long time ago. Does the mod go by the flashchat timeout settings or vbulletin timeout settings?

I have the flashchat timeout settings to 3mins, but vbulletin time out settings in 15mins. So if a member goes to the chatroom and closes the window is it going to wait for 15min to say they left the chatroom. If the member is still active on the site but not the chatroom it still says they are in the chatroom.

foulplay 08-04-2007 12:17 PM

You have to edit the usergroup list in order for it to show

Mrdby 08-04-2007 07:37 PM

so 3.6.7 is ok?

cheers, great mod. I have a request, is it possible to also use one query to like show a number of who's online next to the "chat" link?

Hence, add some small php/mysql query in one of the templates (nav)..... If that's possible... what is it :)

loresfx 08-14-2007 01:39 PM

No idea what i am doing wrong but it wont display anything on my forums.

Could you please be a little more specific about your problem. :)

loresfx 08-15-2007 02:07 AM

I have vbulletin 3.6.4

- I installed flash chat (FlashChat_v4710)
- installed Who is chatting (for Flashchat) mod

on forum home i don't see anything that tells me how many users are logged in on flashchat.

If you need to go through the forums i can pm you a login and pass.

I had same problem, you need to edit the usergroups list in the who is using flashchat options with the id's of the usergroups you wish to be able to view.

SCRIPT3R 08-29-2007 10:40 PM

updated again... same version number?

Paul M 08-29-2007 10:45 PM

Yes, just an extra space in a template removed.

Raydar 09-02-2007 06:31 AM

What a seamless installation. I wish all hacks could be installed so easily.

Thanks

Reg

Techlion126 09-12-2007 04:31 AM

I have been running this for a while and it has been flawless. Thank you Paul! Excellent work.

Praise of course leads to a question of sorts. Any thoughts on adding a online now icon that will show up on the users postbit profile. Maybe working with AJAX to show logged into chat or not etc. I just thought of this today when a member asked, so I haven't gotten very far with it, but will sculpt the idea when I have time.

Example below. Shows colored icon when in chat and greyed out icon when out. Chat status so to speak :)
