Yes, I'm having a problem with it reporting the same users everytime they log in.

Would love to see this also :)

I not sure if i dare to update to the latest version as its working great?
Does it still say the usernames of who its detected in the latest version?

Do you ever plan to expand on it?

A nice feature would be to turn off multiple-reports from the same users... Although it has helped catch a lot of users, we do have some that just share their computer with their friends/siblings etc.. (we're able to tell because our site has freestyle battles with live audio recording, we can hear different voices etc..)

Cheers.

i would like to see some kind of way to prevent users from making another username if it picks up the cookie... this way you dont get a reminder cause they cant make another username..

HBC 04-24-2006 09:28 PM

works great for me on 3.5.4! thanks!!

Bernd 04-25-2006 09:49 AM

Could this hack be used to detect account sharing?

I'm not sure what you mean - this is exactly what the mod does, reports when a single computer is used for multiple account accesses.

EdQ 04-28-2006 02:30 PM

Still cannot get it to post in a forum

speedracer68 05-02-2006 02:24 AM

Cliks install... I did a test and it works great now!

No soup for you!!!

O yea you can do that, all you do is lock the cookie, go to the Settings in the ACP and set the url for the cookie in the Cookies settings to .yoururl.com

That works for me, people can't even log out, lol.

EdQ 05-02-2006 05:53 PM

I am getting really tired of all the PM's. Can anyone help me to get them posting in a forum??

Look in your Vbulletin Options. Look for AE Multiple Login Detection Settings.

Set this question to no (Send PM On Multiple Login Detection?)

Set this to yes (Enable New Thread Creation on Multiple Login Detection?)

Set this to a hidden forum ID (ForumID For AE Multiple Login Detection reports)

I set mine to post in a hidden moderator forum.

Hope that helps.

Ahh, the only thing I didn't do was turn of PM Notifications. I'll try that. Thanks!

That?s a great idea and would be a great feature. Would be cool to see if some members have access to a hidden or password protected forum, if they share the account with other members.

I don't think its working. I usually get at least one per day. :dunno:

Eagle Creek 05-03-2006 07:49 PM

Great hack!

But before I install I have 2 questions:

Who is the person that will be showed as sender of the PM?
Can there be more recipients?

Nick0r 05-04-2006 01:03 PM

Also having problems, the hack won't seem to post in a private (admin only) forum.

EdQ 05-04-2006 02:04 PM

Those changes didn't help. Did a reinstall also.

Eagle Creek 05-04-2006 10:15 PM

How can I translate the content of the post?
Because translating the phrase DIDNT work??

bglynn 05-06-2006 04:34 AM

Good hack, but only useful ONCE if the user has 1/2 a brain. My main assclown just emailed me - said nice try with the cookie BS...all he had to do was block it, now right back to square one. :( I knew that limitation and was simply hoping this particualr assclown DIDN'T have 1/2 a brain.

AOL, free email services and assclowns. 3 things to hate the most in life if you are a board admin!

DementedMindz 05-06-2006 05:38 AM

yeah its a easy bypass erase cookies and your back in.. there has to be a way to stop users from doing it...

almqdad 05-06-2006 01:37 PM

hello

after upgrade the plugin does not seem to work it does not post in a private forum it use to before upgrade

any idea

sandalwood 05-11-2006 04:08 AM

so this keeps a table in the database for each session cookie and username, and each time someone logs in it matches to see if anyone else has that cookie? and if so alerts?

how can i dump that table to an xls? i would like to be able to see all my "same users" at a glance, all in one place.

maybe someone can mod this to dump found "duplicate" users to a txt file please? should have ip, cookie string, user1, user2, per line separated by commas.

Nope.

slovin 05-11-2006 07:49 AM

I'm having a weird problem. I can see two users online, user A and user B. I see them having two different IP addresses, and yet I get reports that A tripped user B account. How is this possible?

maybe ,, same computer, but using different proxies ..

Thanks for the plugin, it's very useful, but translation is not possible without hacking the code. (Phrases are hard coded) please cosider that on next edition  .

MPDev 05-11-2006 04:13 PM

I tried to make it work using phrases; but was unsuccessful...

It looks like a scope issue. Your product is using the login_verify_success hook, which is in a function that only globals the $vbulletin variable. Try adding global $vbphrase; before you call construct_phrase and see if that makes the 'multiplelogin_alert' phrase available.

Any fix for this? It's a nuisance to have to keep deleting threads and posts for users I already know about.

same with me i keep PMing people that have been talked to by otehr admins. will this be fixed?

Paul M 05-16-2006 07:19 PM

Add them to the hacks exceptions list.

MPDev 05-16-2006 07:34 PM

There is no database interaction here; depending on how the user has their computer configured the reporting of multiple attempts is most likely the result of their cookies being reset. There isn't really a way to compensate for that except, as Paul pointed out, to add them to your exception list.

Yes, I've had the same problem too. I was running 1.00 and 1.01 and it appears 1.03 isn't working properly. I tried uninstalling the original files and importing 1.03 new, but still nothing.

Any advice would be most appreciated.
