This is a vBulletin bug. Checked on a fresh board.
Report posted: [here].

P.S. Yay 100 installs! :)

having one field gives you unlimited.......

having seperate box gives you a limited thats how i see it

i dont see how someoen cant understand :-/

akanevsky 12-11-2005 11:39 PM

Yes, just overwrite the XML for 1.0.2 => 1.2.0 update.

i just upgraded.
after that, i start to see the same error that i saw before, which you fixed somehow:

basically I get the following parse error whenever I try to add a reputation to other members:
Crap. Somehow I kept forgetting to update my dev forum with the XML saved in my project folder... Cause I made that change manually. So every time I exported, it was overwritten with the same bug. Lol. It'f fixed now..

Problem here. It says I don't have any invites, but when I edit my profile, it says I have 30 unused invites.

akanevsky 12-12-2005 01:07 AM

Show me. After you make sure you installed everything correctly.

Injektilo 12-12-2005 04:48 AM

Psionic Vision: i've done everything 100% correctly. All the template changes, and file uploads, i've also installed the referrers statistics, but still it counts only old statistics of invitations that i had before your 2 hacks. It doesnt count the new invitations accepted.

btw: i am currently on vb3.5.0

Please help asap
thanks

Red Blaze 12-12-2005 03:16 PM

I attached images of what I see.

I believe this happend after I did the upgrade. All I did was replace the XML file from 1.0.0 to 1.2.0

The Chief 12-12-2005 03:53 PM

Are you sure it is not possible to send an invitation to all of our MSN Messenger contacts or AIM? This is surely something asked by alot of vB Admins and I'm sure it would be even more successful ;)

Thanks..

Lenny :)

akanevsky 12-12-2005 05:49 PM

No, you also need to overwrite invites.php...

Could you please PM me with your admincp details and board URL and I'll look at it? Thanks.

akanevsky 12-12-2005 06:54 PM

Thanks.
For everyone who does not have referrers list updated:
See last FAQ item in the second post of this thread.

Red Blaze 12-13-2005 01:33 AM

It turned out for me that it didn't work. I found out why, though.

I checked the source after I click the invited link. Invite value appears in the verify age page. However, when I check the next page (rules registration part), the value is gone. Once I reach the registration page, the value isn't there and the invite no longer works.

What's causing that issue, I don't know. Any ideas?

Yes. Invalid template edits by the admin.

To be honest, I have no idea how to interact with MSN... Therefore, I cannot do it.

Red Blaze 12-13-2005 11:55 PM

I uninstalled, and tried it again, but it just won't work. Uninstalled completely. It's sad, I really wanted this product.

How doesn't it work?

bonjurkes 12-14-2005 01:23 PM

first of all just want to say that it is a great hack and i was looking for it...

Installed ;)

Also i am not familiar with cron jobs. Is there a chance to add earned invites every night at 11:59 instead of Monday?

Will it cause a big load? If it wont can you tell how must i change the second cron job...

Psi didn't help. But hey, no problem. I'm not gonna bug Psi about it.

akanevsky 12-14-2005 08:38 PM

Don't bug me, but who loses in the end? That is correct, you do, because at the end you are unable to use the hack. If I were you, I'd keep the "install" clicked, and would provide a demonstration of the hack not working. However, since you don't want to cooperate, - and furthermore, since you clicked "uninstall" - I cannot help you. ;)

quick question....the invite system the e-mail it sends

how can i make the message in html?

like adding a header and all?

Thanks Psi

akanevsky 12-14-2005 09:20 PM

I am not sure you can use HTML, but you could try editing the phrase that contains the body of the message.

any idea how to add html? like code and all?

akanevsky 12-14-2005 09:33 PM

I don't think HTML will work because vbulletin's emails are plaintext.
As for HTML code, you best starting place would be www.w3schools.com.

akanevsky 12-14-2005 10:31 PM

That would be admincp. The front-end is a different story... Some major code modifications would be required here... So no, sorry. :(

gr8 hack ** installed **

Red Blaze 12-15-2005 07:51 PM

If you believe I was upset about me not getting it to work correctly or you not helping me, you're very mistaken. I clicked "uninstall" because I have no more use for your product. If in your opinion I lost, well alright, I'm not gonna fighting on the internet about it.

akanevsky 12-15-2005 08:07 PM

Why do you have no use for my product?

Hanif 12-15-2005 10:05 PM

Has anyone got this jack working with the Element Blue Template from vbStyles.com

Thre is no register button so not sure how to hack this baby.

Can anyone help please.

Ta,

Hanif

Also if I disable the registration section so that it would be invite only they can even get that far what am I missing.

I have this same problem and so far does not appear related to permissions.
