Okay, i think I'm abusing the english language. Sorry moderators. Swedish people always include a certain amount of faul language in their conversations, or we're not cool enough. err, okay. =)

I want to update you all and say that it's going along nicely, but this whole thing with releasing it has made this be a lot more work then I ever expected.. I've been lurking around through vB's scripts and taking use of the built in features to speed up my own scripts as they were in the beginning pretty much all independent, hence more unnecassary queries / loading time.

I'm possibly also going add a "buddy list" feature that allows the owner of the profile page to sort his buddies and also see if they're online quick and easy. Is this also of interest? It's not that big of a script, but it'll make the release of this addon for vB a bit delayed further more.

I've had nothing but good feedback from my users so far.

Like the idea of the buddy list being simplified (and included on the home page?) However I'm not sure that its worth delaying the release of the home page and guest book? What about focussing on releasing the first two parts and then at a later stage release the buddy system update?

The first two part are impressive enough!

Hey swedie I must say I'm impressed. This is the exact script I've been looking for. A friend of mine had something similar to this with the ability for members to upload pictures to the home page. his website is http://www.caribplanet.com. He going to relaunch it soon and its a great enhancement for sites.

About that ... I've created my own Photo Gallery for my website. It allows users to upload pictures of their motorcycles (that's what the site is about). I've connected my Classifieds / Ads system (also created this myself):

with my photo gallery. Check it out. This is also a very neat little ad system that connects with vBulletin's database.

Right now, members would have to link to their own private websites where they store their pictures, unless... you have it like I have it... they can upload to the photo gallery I have and link to them there. there's a thumbnail picture created so if they're smart they don't do an <img > tag to the large pic and make the page load real slow.

Gotta think if this is somethng I should add for this script, the ability to upload pictures (limited to say 5 pictures per user webpage). hmm

Is there any way that you could possibly release this as a hack as well? It looks very clean and would be a great addition to any website that has/needs a classifieds section! ;)

I have a company here in Sweden that wants to buy it... so I'm sorry no. It would be wrong to that company to give it away free. I first said no, but when they told me the amount they were willing to pay I said "sure" :D

wait so you are no longer releasing the hack that you were working on? or your talking about your photo gallery and ad system.

no, it's just the ads script. don't worry.. above script is done. i'm just creating the installation text files.
