is there a way to change the colors, since my writing comes up in white and its hard to see

Currently the chat will only support characters that your board itself will support. So if you would like your board to support certain characters, your board will have to be using a charset that supports those characters too.

We are currently in the process of finding a way to support them without the board's charset supporting them, and if anyone knows a way to do that, please feel free to contact us about it.

I assume you mean the color of the messages and/or the color of the text on the tabs?

If so, I just added two new style vars this morning for that very problem. So when we release the new version in a few days, you can just change the stylevar, but until then, you can always edit the css manually to take care of that.

Let me guess, you got these emails in a time frame right after you uninstalled the mod, correct?

That would be because the table gets deleted when the mod is uninstalled, but the user's JavaScript will still be running until they next refresh.

Nice mod, I'm not really looking for a user to user chat, but if I were I'd install this. :P

I had to disable the mod for a while until I can get it fixed.

Should I be editing the ideal_chat_update_stream.php

It caused my forum database connections to max out.

If you have VSA Chatbox or similiar, give a shot and disable that...
Same issue here, there's a definite forumhome issue somewhere, all other pages work fine on one forum.
