and for all your premium mods?

i have no money =(

I'm totally against this cheating on people here. Providing a taste of something, then asking people if they want the full mod, they have to pay for it. This is really unacceptable. If you want to make money just release a totally non-free product in your own website! Here is not for ads.

There is no cheating... I'm guessing that's not the word you even meant to use, but regardless of that, what DBTech is doing is perfectly acceptable and fully within the TOS of vb.org.

What you have to understand is that the LITE version is the full version, of the LITE version. The FULL version is the ENHANCED version and as such, there is a cost associated with it.

If I applied your logic to a car dealership, you'd have to be against any lower end models being offered for a lesser cost. They should only offer the higher end model. Well, you know what? Some people can't afford the higher end models and are perfectly happy with the lower end model that fits their budget. Should the car dealership not sell them a car they can afford? Maybe give them a skateboard instead?

Seriously, just because you can't afford something or don't want to pay for it, doesn't mean you are in any way RIGHT.

LOVE this hack, and it works great, but I have 2 simple things I'd like to do with it:

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/06/34.png

I'd like to move where it says thanks to the BOTTOM line of the postbit, as well as unbold it if possible to match the rest of them.

if anyone can help me with this, I'd greatly appreciate it!

I've installed this on my test forum.

I click on the buttons (which are different color than style) and nothing happens. I installed as per the instructions and the permissions appear to be ok.

1. My users want/begging for for logs from the "other" thanks system. Where is the converter?
2. Have you tested this on large forums? What kind of overhead (queries etc) are needed?

Thanks for your time.

mokonzi 06-04-2010 06:30 PM

Converter is Premium/Pro version only, as per the OP.

I'm going to be testing this feature to see if I like it over the existing Thanks mod I'm using, but would like to see another feature added to this to make it overwhelming necessay to convert to:

An Agree with post option. There's a few instances on my site where an option to agree with the post makes more sense than Thanks or Like. I assume adding this would be relatively simple in terms of copying over the coding and adjusting the phrasing slightly. Such a feature for me would need to allow me to switch it on an off per forum, and also to be set to first Post only, or any post.

Will give you some feedback after I've installed the exisitng product. :)

PS I love so many aspects of your mods, and have plenty of ideas of other ones if you fancy adding to your repertoire.

mokonzi 06-04-2010 07:24 PM

Is there a way of seeing the current amount of like/thanks within a user's profile?

The converter from Abe's mod is, as mokonzi said, free with the Pro version :)

We don't have access to any large forums, however I've worked with someone who's got experience dealing with large forums and he advised me how to best do this.
It requires 1 query on showthread, and 3 queries when inserting a new thanks / like.

People have already lamented that Thanks and Like is too similar, so I don't think we'll add another type ;)

Currently not, no. It's expected to be added to the next update :)
