Oops, perhaps should have made the quicktime requirement clearer. It was up on the first post/feature list
"Shoutbox Sounds: You asked for it, we delivered. Customisable sounds now available on receiving shouts, Invites, PM's and more. (Requires QuickTime Plugin)" Fillip will have a look at your other issue when he gets online. |

I'll see if anything can be done about this. Fillip |
I'm unable to confirm the "Invalid Chat Room" error. This leads me to believe you may have been attempting to invite a member to a chat room that you created in the AdminCP.
This isn't possible because those chat rooms are meant for usergroups only. You can only invite members to the chat rooms you create manually in the Shoutbox itself. |

Anyways....the biggest concern for me is the error I get trying to access one of my threads. The vbseo something error. EDIT: uhhh duhh....sorry I get it, create chatrooms......you don't mean create members....lol I created the chatrooms from within the shoutbox itself. And even inviting a member to the default shoutbox or room, gives me the same error. |
"Inviting a member to the default shoutbox" - what? You can only invite a member to a Chat Room, and only one you create with /createchat.
Additionally, the "Cannot redeclare handle_bbcode_video()" function is not an error with vBShout, it's with the [VIDEO] mod you have installed. You need to contact the author of that mod and tell them this: Quote:
The vBSEO error is a bug in the vBSEO software. They check for the presence of the vB_Template class, where they should be checking the version number. It's not something I can fix, sorry. |

Well then.....it is only your product that has all these conflicts with other mods. I have no issues with anything else. Thank you....uninstalled! |

He's trying to understand what you're saying (since there appears to have been a mix up in communication at least once before) Not only is he telling you exactly what problems the other modifications have, he's also, where possible, letting you know how to get them resolved. You'll find that if you manage to find any other products that do the things ours do (Which you likely won't, as ours are the most advanced on the market) Then they would also run into the bugs in these other products. Not really sure how you can hold bugs in other products against us to be honest, especially when we're giving instructions on how to fix them... *shrugs* By all means though, if the product is too complex for you to use (which is sometimes the case with modifications with the scope of ours) then I hope you find a simpler alternative which meets your needs =) Iain |

I am merely stating that I have no issues with any other mod, no conflicts.....so please....refrain from accusing people of something without any grain of evidence. Maybe you guys should work on your people skills a bit....will definitely help! |

I would be very surprised if you had mods on your site that caused conflicts - that would be a kind of silly thing to do. By definition if a mod has conflicts you get them resolved or remove it... So i'm not sure what you not having conflicts on your site still proves? If you talk to any experienced developer on vb.org they will tell you that when breaking new ground mod conflicts are not uncommon - often the only time a bug in software gets noticed is when someone tries to do something new and stumbles across it (Otherwise the bug would have been fixed long ago) In short: When a modification is doing something new, it's not surprising that bugs in other modifications become apparent. I would expect an experienced user to know this and not blame it on 'incompatabilites' or 'conflicts with other mods' As for the people skills thing, thanks for your input, we'll definetely take it into consideration. I hope you also take my above points into consideration the next time you try to apportion blame onto someone who is not only supplying you with a free modification for your forum, but is also taking the time for free to help you resolve the issues your customised setup is having. Perhaps being more understanding of what causes these issues, as well as less hostile and rude will see you get a nicer reaction in future. =) Hope that clears things up for you. I'd like to take this opportunity to thank the majority of users here on vbulletin.org who do understand the nature of doing things no one else does, and the inherent risks that involves, and who help us out by reporting issues and allowing us to help resolve them while remaining calm and pleasant. You guys are the reason we still release things for free here on the org. Please remember that coders don't get paid for releasing things here, and often it is only the gratitude and reasonable behaviour of the members here that encourage coders to return with cool new stuff =) Iain |
