Thanks anyway, really appreciate your efforts... :)

I guess I'll wait until the author gets back here and has a look to see if he can offer a solution. I know the "Thanks" mod and others that use the this bottom area of postbit blend right into our style without a problem, adapting to it's color scheme transparently. I think it has something to do with the coding, but now, like you, it's way above my pay grade. :D

I've been wondering if there's something I can add to this code to handle using the current style coloring.

Code:

<!--AustraliaBound.org ip tracer-->

  <vb:if condition="can_moderate()">
      <a href="http://www.infosniper.net/index.php?ip_address={vb:raw post.ip}&map_source=1&two_maps=1&overview_map=1&lang=1&map_type=1&zoom_level=7" target="_blank" />
  <img class="inline" src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/info.png" alt="Lookup this {vb:rawphrase ip}" title="Lookup this {vb:rawphrase ip}: {vb:raw post.ip}" />
  &nbsp;</a>

</vb:if>
<!--end AustraliaBound.org ip tracer-->

Here's the "post_thanks" code where they do it, so I wonder if there's something in here that could be done to the IP template, since I see the word "transparent". :D

Code:

<script type="text/javascript" src="clientscript/post_thanks.js"></script>

<style type="text/css">
.postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a.post_thanks_button, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a.post_thanks_button{
background: url({vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/post_thanks.png) no-repeat transparent {vb:stylevar left};
padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 20px
}
.postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a.post_thanks_button:hover, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a.post_thanks_button:hover{
background: url({vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/post_thanks-hover.png) no-repeat transparent {vb:stylevar left} }
</style>

Perhaps I'll see if I can find and pay a code developer to have a look and see what he can do, as I'd really like to use this mod on our site. :up:

Badger

I dont have this installed at present.

Have you tried adding:

no-repeat transparent {vb:stylevar left}; padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 20px;

After
src="{vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/info.png"

Thanks .. :)

Just tried it, but see no change...

Seems to be a larger field box than the pic itself?

By the way, nice mod ... love to get it integrated ..

Thanks for your efforts ... :up:

Badger

easiest thing to do would be to change the image to merge with your CUSTOM style background.

Thanks again ... :)

Tested your icon (see attached) ....

I don't believe it's the image itself. I think it's the fact that the field should be a composite of both the image and the white box (for lack of a better expression). Note your last image posted with the style color background set to my color is fine, but the rest if the field it's sitting in is white. The icon pic actually seems to be "left justified" in that white box field?

Note the "Thanks" add-on mod graphic and its field right next to your mod. That construction is differently coded and the field consists of both the background box (link) and thanks graphic integrated.

Badger

VB 4 uses style vars and hover state, if you look at other mods, they utilise two images.
Perhaps that is the key.

Sorry I couldnt help more

No problem, I understand .. :)

Out of curiosity, I simply substituted the call to the "Thanks" graphic icon next to yours and I've attached the result. It does the same thing.

I wonder if it's as simple as the setting of the field size for that box (showing white) someplace, to better correspond with the size of the info icon left justified and embedded in it.

in postbit.css, find
Code:

/* Text button hover images */
and underneath, insert
Code:

.postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a.abipinfo, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a.abipinfo  {
        background: url({vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/info.png) no-repeat transparent {vb:stylevar left};
        padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 20px;
}
.postbitlegacy .postfoot .textcontrols a.abipinfo:hover, .postbit .postfoot .textcontrols a.abipinfo:hover  {
        background: url({vb:stylevar imgdir_button}/info.png) no-repeat transparent {vb:stylevar left};
        padding-{vb:stylevar left}: 20px;
}

then replace the contents of the AustraliaBound IP Lookup template with
Code:

<!--AustraliaBound.org ip tracer-->

  <vb:if condition="can_moderate()">
      <a class="abipinfo" href="http://www.infosniper.net/index.php?ip_address={vb:raw post.ip}&map_source=1&two_maps=1&overview_map=1&lang=1&map_type=1&zoom_level=7" target="_blank" />

  &nbsp;</a>

</vb:if>
<!--end AustraliaBound.org ip tracer-->

I've got a futher altered version that works with Pauls proxy mod, but the above works fine.

Thank you Jonty .... :up:

That improved it a LOT! :)

The white box has gone away and the icon appears "left justfied" within that area. When I put my mouse over the icon area, the icon disappears and I'm able to click my mouse to go to the IP site.

I assume I could use a different sized icon, perhaps more centered for the size of the field and this code change would still adapt to that?

Again, thanks and I appreciate your help.... :)

Regards,
Badger

Note: left pic is with mouse not near field area. right pic is with mouse hovering over icon area.
