Updated version 1.2 on Nov / 04 /2009

v1.2
  1. Cache Template fix. (Much faster and huge performance boost!)
  2. Add List Order Option (Ability to display news by Newest first, Oldest first, Views or Random). http://www.silveryhat.com/delynie/music/new.gif

Enjoy! :)

Can we include this mod on a custom page? I'd almost like for this to be a quick homepage for one of my sites to test it out. Is there a way to do that? If so, can you do a quick step by step on it?

Great work on this mod!

As long as the custom page uses vBulletin engine then it's possible. Read [Guide] DnP AJAX Custom News on every page of forum for more info :)

SilveryHat,

I've added it to my custom page and everything seems to be working.

DEMO: http://www.magicthemeparks.com/mk/forum/newspage.php

I just wanted to ask how do I edit the phrase "There are 5 News in total"?

You can edit it in dnp_news.php file
it's about 132 line

SilveryHat, my suggestion for new releases:

Add additional filed to certain forum ID in newthread template (just below the message box)
- DNP - title
- DNP - description

and in admincp create new option: "suggested DNP news"

when usergropus is allowed to create DNP news - the thread go into admincp "suggested DNP news" queue and it must be approved by admin/mod

It should not be difficult for you...
Please think about it !

Thanks bartek24m, I'll adjust that tonight.

And good suggestion, by the way. Makes our lives a little less complicated if others are also creating the "potential" or "suggested" news and we have to simply approve them.

How can I get the "Title of DnP Custom News block" from showing up when I have this mod disabled in the mod area in admincp?

The only way to actually disable the mod is to remove $dnp_news_output from FORUMHOME Style...

I see the point. I guess it's a good one to add. I'll try to see what I can do :)

I'm not sure what you mean.. you can turn off the MOD via DnP Custom News Options in AdminCP
