found a minor glitch.

if the username contains a character like ' you get a mysql error.

Code:

  Datenbankfehler in vBulletin 3.6.0:

Invalid SQL:

INSERT INTO googlemapme
(userid,username,usergroupid,title_map,text_map,lat_map,lng_map,pimage,approve) VALUES ('2514','D'Espice','6','D\'Espice','Der Leitende','48.16608541901253','11.6015625','',
'1');

MySQL-Fehler : You have an error in your SQL syntax.  Check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'Espice','6','D\'Espice','Der Leitende','48.16608541901253','11.

Is there a way to make it so you aren't required to put in any information when adding your pin?

I inserted the $post[findme] in my legacy postbit and it works properly.

What I would like to do is have it display a small icon instead of a text link ("My location") in the postbit. I would like to have this icon be the "button" that is pushed to cause the map to come up and display that persons marker.

I have tried a bunch of ideas and got one to work (modified the phrase that was generating the "My location" text and put the image link in it instead) but it caused a problem when someone went back to edit their location, the map wouldn't display.

I can't figure out what the $post[findme] is actually calling...

Any help would be appreciated!

I also have the same problem, and looks like we are not the only ones

Looks like this error happens if you have both editions. Regardless of the one you delete, the error disappears.

It appears there is a name conflict.

I *think* it's because he's got the same name "customadminperms" as settings for both editions. I altered the administrator table and added customadminmeperms as settings and I reflected the name change in the includes/bitfield_vbgooglemam.xml and no more error.

don't go and to the same until someone says it's ok :-)

Wierd, Tried 2 times to get this working, both times the markers would not show on the map. Uninstalled and tried again last night, everything works fine. Only difference is this time I used a new google key.

I have this same issue, does anyone have a work-around???

gyankow 09-14-2006 02:17 PM

I have the same problem and confirmed the problem was VBGooglemap Member Edition. The bit fields get corrupt, I noticed this after I ran a attachment thumbnail rebuild.

To fix the problem:
  • Removed the newly added XML files from the includes directory.
  • Uninstall the Googlemap ME from the plugs, remove all files associated with it.
  • Then rebuild the bit cache by copying the original VB install directory and running the tool.php.

I found dozens of people that are having this problem, I think many more don't even know it yet. I think the application is awesome but theres a problem with GoogleMaps ME and HSE when the bit field is rebuilt by a VB core process.

Before anyone states otherwise, you shuold know I have recreated the problem on my test box.

P.S. This is an AWESOME Add-on, I want it and I want it branding free any ideas on cost.
