thats awesome... I could use some help because I can't get the reply notification to work. Also... is there a way for it to search the email addresses and contact FB users to let them know on facebook the application is available?

I've got thousands of users (active & inactive) that don't know and won't unless they create a new post. Most users don't post. They read.

What do you mean can't get it to work? Reply notifications (and new thread stuff) work perfectly, showing up in the user's notifications, that is IF they chose to allow the app to do so. Check the application permissions

This is the major beef with this application of a lot of people, but no. All mail is handled through facebook's proxy, for their own notification, etc. This means that you can't email this user directly.

This is one of the reasons that it's suggested to setup a separate facebook group, so that you can setup notifications for those groups and whatnot easily enough.

Well it creates and publishes a new listing when I "submit" a new post on my forum. But never are any replies are published. Nor do I see anything like "mykkal replied to a discussion on MyModelTalk.com". Also it redirects to the forum and not the actual thread itself which is a bit confusing...

I'm not worried about the proxy email address. I do know about that. I think that can be replaced later actually and it only seems applies to new registrations. I want to notify my existing members about the application on facebook itself. So that when they are in their FB profiles they actually see a request to add the application.

I have multiple groups with thousands of people. I haven't figured out how to add the application to a group. Are you referring to a fan page? That would be ideal as i'm going to hit the 5,000 friend limit soon.

Also... A ways back I'd paid the original mod developer to install it.
He installed it but never did the application settings the way I asked him too. So i've basically done the best I could using the instructions.

It could be that these functions are there and not configured properly. Not sure why he didn't do it.

Check the app settings, as I've said a few times before. If your app settings are correct, and your id's are correct in the vB admin area, it will work, I promise you that. Even on the most advanced systems, this works.

@ atmo:
Double check your templates, you did something wrong. Most likely you put the footer stuff in the wrong place.

@mykkal:
To set the application to use a new usergroup, create the usergroup, and in the FB Connect settings (in VB) tell it to use that usergroup when users sign up. This will ONLY work with new users, but that's the only usergroup you should need it for.

The redirect to the forum is expected, that's how it works. The notifications themselves will not appear in the user's "page" as it were, but in their status bar, like every other notification from applications.
