There is a minimize option. At least on my forum. I just click the little arrow at the upper right corner of the box.

Is it possible to remove the default Shoutbox and only allow new Chat Rooms that we create from AdminCP?

Or is it possible to set the usergroup permissions for the default Shoutbox and change its name?

Trying to install the plugin was met by

"XML Error: Processing Instruction not finished at Line 191"

product was being upgraded from the version we had on vBulletin3 - overwrite of existing files and plugin script.

vBulletin Forum running on 4.2.3 Candidate 1.

Any ideas on what may be 'wrong'? Thanks in antic ....

Might be best to totally remove all the files then install fresh

Hi,
I've installed the chat a year ago and now I would like to upgrade it (from 6.2.3 version).
I've downloaded the new files and uploaded to the forum directory as your readme file said.
But, now, when I import the xml file from the admin control panel I get the following error:

File 628.php is missing in install directory. Look where the file is and upload it in appropriate place.

I just installed this mod and I'm having same issue. They worked briefly upon initial install - but now I can not recover them with any changes to settings, complete uninstall/reinstall, clear cache, change browsers... they have vanished

Belazor is now an Admin. We only use shout for Mods and Admins normally

I can give your server/ftp access if needed - can PM the details

It's good to see some devs still supporting their vb4 products here :D Major thanks.

After some testing I found:

The text-style controls disappear after allowing desktop notifications & dbtech_vbshout_settings gets set to 1048576 for the userid in the user database.

I can set it manually back to 4095 (the original value for my userid), and they are visible again on page refresh.

Hmm something with vbshout_settings 1048576... ?

I think it is a plugin clash. the $instance seems to be set incorrectly when the templates are parsed

I'm guessing our issue is just a bug with latest update, which included the desktop notifications.

I was able to 'fix' by uninstalling, and also dropping the persisting columns prefixed with 'dbtech_vbshout' from the vbulletin 'user' table, before reinstalling a modified version without desktop notifications.

I am sure this is unsupported by the dev and they will release a fix in the near future. I'm just not patient :)

Sure would be nice to have those desktop notifications though!

I am having the same issue as they are. They were there when I installed the add-on, and disappeared within an hour of performance.

Thus far I've still not been able to replicate this issue anywhere.

I'm contacting my host regarding this:

You appear to have PHP 5.3.9 or higher installed on your server and configured to be too restrictive for vBulletin and vBShout to work correctly.

Please note that if you have a large number of usergroups, certain parts of this page may not work as intended.

If you encounter this issue, you may be able to work around this by adding the following code to your .htaccess file:

php_value max_input_vars 10000

or altering your php.ini file to increase max_input_vars to 10000. 
Edit: Host resolved that for me. Now to wait and see if the formatting options reappear.

Hello Fillip,

the top screenshot is what I see (I am the Site Admin)
The bottom one is what all my members see. As you can see they all have the formatting options, and I am the only one without them.

The attached are my Instance permissions. I am in the Usergroup titled "Administrators".

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
