A chat report would work the same as a post report. The chat is quoted and posted in a post report forum.

If a picture says 1000 words then here's 5000 words:

Yippee.. I'm #6662. Lets have a parade...

...And yes, I thinks it's ridiculous to celebrate me being post # 6659 as well as those who have to celebrate their postings on #2 and #3...

A pet peeve...

Suggestion for addition - Make the Bot better.. lol

Remember MSN Chatrooms with the bot you could have a proper conversation plus any swearing had you kicked out of the room.

I'm probably thinking outside the box but I think it has potential. :)

I think that AIML or whatever that old chat bot was...which is OPEN SOURCE... Could EASILY be developed into this..... If anyone has any experience with that AI bot... then I would suggest contacting VBDEV via a PM to see if he would approve of adding that. Otherwise the bot it 100% useless in my eyes.

gpc10347 07-26-2010 12:36 AM

I got the AIML robot working within a thread of it's own and attempted to have it monitor the chat table but, never really explored going any farther. LOADS of work...

Now... moving on to some more of my idiocy: And this is almost embarassing to ask:

*** Question regardin a paid version removed. ***

GPC, BF just removes the branding....so other than showing it's "MGC" there should be difference unless he cleaned up MORE code since 3.0.0 was released...

That's very constructive remarks ! Just FYI I have a life and I am not sticked to the forum to see wether users asked for information and so on !

Remember that I am not a pro developer and doesn't do it for a living.

But it doesnt shows up on homepage or anywhere else.

what can be the problem. ? ?

Either you misconfigured it or perhaps your style is missing some vars which I don't believe so as you are using vB's default style.

I'm having an odd problem by the way: if I edit a post in the archive view, then hit enter to submit, I'll get a vbulletin error message: "You haven't selected any chat to remove". If I go back to the archive view and refresh it, the edit will show though.
Could it be that the edit script is somehow still looking for a ticked tickbox (i.e. the one at the end)?

Hum try not to hit enter and click at another place of the page (not a link though).

Enter might fire the submit button of the inline deletion at the bottom of the page.

I considered that but since there are a good number of people having this issue, on both chatboxes, it's more likely that he code being used isn't correctly parsing the URL as a reference for the location, and the clientscript is unable to run. I'm no programmer, so this is a guess. Regardless whether it's a client/server/code issue, considering how many people have the problem, it needs to be addressed.

Well I don't think this comes from the chatboxes code but from a plugin or something like that on server side.

As I don't experience it it's hard to address :/

I never used MSN chatrooms so you gotta be more precise on what to make better.

Hi,
installed this chat! It?s really good, but there are a few problems with the w3.org validator.
If chat is activated, no one can validate the forum as xhtml 1.0 transitional.
There are 10 bugs... Is it possible to fix them in the next version?

Thanks a lot.

I have no online forum so I can't do the validation unfortunately :(

Any chance of having the More smilies option open a window similar to the one used in the message editor? :) (Sorry - really wanting to have that one)

You mean the categories ?

A chat report would work the same as a post report. The chat is quoted and posted in a post report forum.

That is already implemented.

I once looked at AIML that's not that easy honestly.
The bot I included is fairly simple and the one you suggest needs much work to be implemented.

Understandable, you can't fix a problem you can't see.

If/when you have time and would be willing to address this for all of us having this problem, I'd be happy to give you full access to my forum. Feel free to PM me and I can get you all set up. I know my members would greatly appreciate it :D

I have the bot assigned to monitor a specific thread: He replies to users asking him questions and such. Loads of AIML files to edit but certainly cool. Not sure it's in the scope of the chat but I'd certainly install it.
I turned another thread into a robot bartender that knows a few hundred drink recipes. Pretty useful stuff.

Like the More... within the wysiwyg editor: Something that would allow the user to choose from the categories would be nice for those folks who have Explorer and as you know, too many smilies cause the browser to flash or lock up. A drop down with the list of Smilies Categories would be a nice addition.
