I get it working and the FB like is in both places. Then I disable the built in using your mod and they both disappear leaving only the other buttons. They're either both on or both off
I disabled it for now. I'll try it again later |

You are running VB 4.2.0? You have a Facebook Application ID and Secret setup in Facebook Options? Basically the top of the settings look like this: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...1&d=1339726749 If you want to post or PM me a link to your forum I'd like to take a look see if I notice anything different. Last question- do you have a custom style? If so can you try on the default style? |
I have 4.2.pPL1 but I did not set up a facebook app ID . I didn't think I needed one for the recommend button. I will try to add the app id
And it does the same thing on the default style as it does for my custom one. The recommend and share button in your mod work fine without an app ID but only if the built in like button is displayed. If the built in like button is disabled then the recommend and share button in your mod do not display. I will play around with it some more as I don't really want to create an app on facebook right now but I do want to make use of the share and recommend functions |
The mod instructions clearly say you need an app id and the facebook platform enabled for this mod to work right.
Without the above the facebook javascript isn't put on every page, which is what is necessary since this mod puts the Like button on pages vBulletin never intended. I suppose if you are adverse to putting in an appid you could make an edit to the more_share_tng template. Find the line: Code:
<vb:if condition="$msot['fbold']"> Code:
<vb:if condition="1"> If it doesn't work be sure to Revert the template back to normal. |
Update- Yes the above edit will work if you don't want to enter an appid.
I will update the next version to do this automatically if no app id is present. |
I have updated to 3.0 and it is working fine even though I haven't uninstalled 2.61.
Also i'm using VBSEO too and it seems fine. Thanks. |
When tweeting a thread, the links don't match up when using vbSEO.
For example, http://saabworld.net/showthread.php?t=25820 in the tweet window should be http://saabworld.net/f142/diesel-cars-usa-25820/ Not a big deal though, clicking the non-VBSEOed link still gets you to the right page. But I am not sure what the search engine spiders lurking on Twitter think of that. |

As for the search engine spiders on Twitter- not a big deal for 2 reasons 1) Twitter is shortening the links anyway and 2) Once they reach your page there is a "canocial url" meta tag I'm sure so it will tell the search engine what the correct URL of the page should be. |
What changes are in the update?
|
Sorry, my browser froze-up halfway through updating the thread and I left it for a while and forgot about it. :o
Anyway Updated to 3.1 New option for those who wanted "centered" buttons instead of just left or right alignment. New code to let the Facebook Like button(s) work regardless of whether the built in Facebook Platform is enabled and regardless of if a Facebook App ID is entered. |
