So as far as these two options:
1) vB Options - Spam Management Anti-Spam Service --Disabled --Akismet --Typepad Antispam Beta 2) Options - GlowHost Spam-O-Matic - Askimet:Enabled Would it make sense to set the first one to Typepad Antispam Beta That way Askimet won't be scanning the message twice and will have 2 different scans? |
Possible Bug:
I have Auto-Moderation: Post Action set to Moderate Post. The SOM log shows that a spammy post was detected and set to moderated, however there are not posts or threads waiting to be moderated. Looks like SOM ignored my Auto-Moderation: Post Action setting and deleted the post anyway. |

They are still issuing blacklisted IP's and usernames, so you can manually add those, best to put them in your IP deny manager via cpanel, that way they get nowhere hear the registration page. I'm a newbie but I think you can also put the usernames in the block list in the ACP |
oh well... that sucks but i'm glad I have one. I catch a few of those spammers everyday

SOM reports "5 Spammy Posts Automatically Moderated" on my forums front page.... however, when I look in the moderation queue there is nothing.
Any idea what might be causing the auto moderated posts to not be placed in the moderation queue? |

Not sure what else might be interfering in it. |

Try and register yourself to see what the problem is
|
when a friend of mine tried registering he received the following message. when i disable spam-o-matic he was able to register and log in
"require_once(includes/functions_ghsom.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/register.php(338) : eval()'d code on line 10 Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'includes/functions_ghsom.php' (include_path='.:/usr/local/php5_3/lib/php') in /home/content/31/10462831/html/forums/register.php(338) : eval()'d code on line 10" |

i uploaded them to my FTP in the forum folder of the root directory. should i have done something different? i also uploaded the proper xml file in my admincp
|
Did you first remove them from the upload folder or did you also upload the upload folder with all the files in it
|
uploaded the entire "upload" folder
|
Try not to upload the upload folder only what is inside so many make that mistake
|
so I removed the upload folder from root directory and uninstalled it from my admincp. Now do I just upload the admincp and includes folders into the root directory or the forum folder under my root folder? thx for the help man!
|
i think i may have figured it out..........we shall see...thx again!
|
Nope NO GOOD....UGH!!! LOL:mad::D
|
Just about to go to bed. When you open the upload folder you will see more folders inside them folders are files. Now as I am doing this on the iPad can't look at the files but all you need to do is take the files and place them inside the same name folders in your FTP then install the XML. If you are still having problems I will help you when I get up
|

Quick and easy to install. Just what we need, thank you.
Just for information: Stop Forum Spam have currently disabled their API key due abuse problems so you can't send them data at the moment. |
