Your last screenshot = PERFECT!

That is what you should be seeing for the log.

My pleasure to be of help.

I'm glad you got it working.

Do I need to clear my Spam O Matic Logs? and if so is it just hitting the restart button in the ACP
when viewing the logs.....

jcgriff2 01-24-2013 01:19 AM

Clearing the log is not a prerequisite to 2.1.0 upgrade.

"Restart" is tantamount to running glowhostspamomatic.php, i.e., it returns you to the GlowHost - Spam-O-Matic Log Viewer & Log Pruning selection menu.

If you wish to clear the log or remove old log entries, enter the desired number of days & prune the log.

Absolutely fantastic mod working like a dream thanks to all involved seriously brilliant

Hi to all
two little suggestions:

1) Add to banned group the spammer that are trying to registering. Until now it's possible block the registration or logger
2) Allow to see the stats only to some groups. I would like to hide the stats to registered user.

What do you think? :)

keyla31 01-29-2013 04:45 AM

even after installing this im getting spam registers, ive even shut off taking new registrations and they still are able to register, im puzzled, anyone have assistance?

Definitely second this!

Some of our moderators only moderate one or two sections of our large forum and I don't like the idea of giving them full control over being able to just delete/ban any user at will.

Is there some setting or switch I'm missing that will allow me to pick and choose which usergroups or mods can use Spam-o-Matic?

Would like to know this as well.

I started reading backwards for an answer but gave up.

I recently installed Spam-O-Matic. I'm not seeing anything in the log.

I turned on vbStopForumSpam and see registration attempts every few minutes.

I'm assuming Spam-O-Matic is working but why no log?
I only have one program running at a time.

fwulfers 01-30-2013 02:38 PM

What log are you looking at? The GlowHost log is in Admin CP under Statistics & Logs on our site.

Are you using another spam program to, like spammers suck or vb bad behavior? If you are then SOM will not log rejected spammers. It will log those that pass.
I cant tell you why, I'm no coder. I suspect it's because the other mods are checking spammer info before the registration.

I'm just using one at a time. I have been using vbstopforumspam for year.

This one works basically just like the ones I mentioned. Try disabling that mod and see if SOM starts logging rejected spammers.

steven s 01-30-2013 06:26 PM

Appears to be working now although didn't block an ip address.
Seems that a lot of ip addresses are not getting blocked.
At no fault of this mod.

vbSFS wasn't blocking a lot of ip addresses either.

SOM will tell you in the log if it rejected the IP or email address. Also make sure you have names turned off in your setups.

steven s 01-30-2013 11:52 PM

I look at ip and email addresses.
Two ip addresses where approved although spammers and they were not in the SFS database which I find odd.

Just installed on vbulletin 4.2.0 and when I go to a users detail in the admin CP and select Spam-O-matic -remove and ban user I get this:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/admincp/glowhostspamomatic.php on line 108

I get that too.
Copied everything from UPLOAD folder to the directory where my forum is.

Unfortunately, version 2.1.0 of Spam-O-matic doesn't appear to work with version 4.2.0 PL3 of vB. I even tried to completely delete the mod and do a fresh re-install, but the app still doesn't work from the admin control panel or from within the forum. It also blocked new user registrations. I'm pretty bummed, as I've come to rely on Spam-O-Matic hte past couple years. Any ETA on a version that works properly with 4.2.0 PL3?

Well, it worked perfectly for two years through multiple upgrades to both SOM and vB. However, the upgrade to vB 4.2.0 PL3 killed it. I've tried everything I can think of, including a complete uninstall (including deleting the files uninstall doesn't remove). I tried disabling the built-in vB Spam Management, and even tried disabling other unrelated mods, to no avail. Not sure what else to try...

Then it is time to get someone in to look at it as something you did is wrong as it works well with 4.2.0 PL3

After deleting user via Admin CP...

Quote:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/admincp/glowhostspamomatic.php on line 108

Spam-O-Matic has performed the following actions:
Selected user was removed
User details were submitted to StopForumSpam
User details were submitted to Akismet
Back to User Search
Any idea what the warning means?

ForceHSS 02-02-2013 03:01 PM

did you delete user first then delete the posts? as the error in question is this foreach ($postids as $post_id)

No, just used the option "Spam-o-matic Remove and ban user"

ForceHSS 02-02-2013 04:58 PM

could of been a mod or if you give users the rights a post was deleted just as you used the program if you have no other problems with the program I would not worry about it

This means you did not upload the files into your forum root correctly.

Are moderators or administrators notified when threads/posts are placed in the moderation queue?

I dont see anything that mentions it in the vb manual.

Mark4865 02-05-2013 05:14 AM

This is a brilliant mod and really stopping spammers registering on my website.

I am suddenly having an issue with posts being put into moderation before appearing and thus requiring approval, this includes admin posts?? I am not sure if it has anything to do with this mod as I don't require my members posts to be moderated before they post.

Any advice or help appreciated

I have, but I have changed the name of my admin folder for security reason

does the plugin use a hard coded link to admincp?

Changing the folder name will not stop this mod from working or cause any errors

Thank You! I'm loving this addition, as the reason I never have time to develop my site is due to spending most of my time IP banning spammer attempts. Much appreciation for the needed break!
