vBExperience 3.8.4 has now reached the beta stage! This release brings great new features to your forum like re-worked Awards with direct URL, categories, new layout and new options. Give Away Points to other users with just few clicks. It also ends the mess with the graphics stored in different style folders.

Upgrade Instructions
1. Copy ALL (I mean ALL - That is a common error!) files from upload_via_ftp/ to the server.
2. ReImport product_vbexperience384.xml, allow overwrite
3. If you modified any of the vBExperience templates, revert them

- There is a new directory called xperience. This is the new place for ALL graphics, including bars, shop items and awards.
- Awards: New Feature for Awards: You can enter a direct URL like "/images/awards/gold1.gif" instead of using the complicated identificator. You can use a small and a big image. Existing Awards are working like before.
- Awards: Change display style for awards on profile: Either included in Experience fieldset or in an extra block below albums
- Awards: Introduced Award Categories for a better grouping if using more awards

The other possibility it that the users are getting negative points, which I don't think counts for all users.

the give away points features is great. my users love it very much

but, any username contains "underscore" cannot receive the given points.

vBExperience 3.8.4 BETA 3 has been released. The changes were focused on bugfixing from Beta 2, also there is a great new overview of what is going on on your forum. It's called "Acitivities" and it is showing like your members gain points, promote, do transactions in the shop. Also, the recount process is now applied also to users that don't post by triggering a recount of their points by login.

Download the ZIP from the first post and do an upgrade:
1. Copy ALL (I mean ALL - That is a common error!) files from upload_via_ftp/ to the server.
2. ReImport product_vbexperience384.xml, allow overwrite
3. If you modified any of the vBExperience templates, revert them

I have just installed the 3.8.4 BETA 3. In the admincp , the vbexperience menu on the left has the heading *[xperience_name]* . Is that how its supposed to be, or is it me doing something wrong?

I want to give the members a blog on the forum if they reach a particular level. Is their a way to automatically promote a member to a particular usergroup based on their vbexperience level? I could not work out how to do this.

You will need to edit the level xml files and also enable promotions. Read more about this in the file readme_levels.txt

Now all I am going to do is hard code a link under the experience bars in the blogs to "Give Points to Friends".

SUGGESTION 1:
Having a link in the post bit to give points to that user would be great. I have been hard coding that since I first installed.

The new activities page is awesome. We now need a block developed to pull these stats to our vba cmps homepages.

Beta 4 of the new vBExperience 3.8.4 has been released. This release brings outstanding changes to the way vBExperience displays Awards. I have also recreated icons for the awards and also provided 32x32 icons. Every Award has also an explanation of what fields it uses for calculation.
Also, two additional Pointproviders, improved Activites and several fixes are improving the whole package. This release is stable, the next version will be the release candidate.

I'm having a problem with the levels. I import a particular level to try, do the Recount in AdminCP/Experience ... and the levels don't adjust. I have a little over 1,000 users, and one user at Level 99. I've gone from importing the lowest to the highest level file, recount on each, and there are no changes at all.

Level up is stuck on 99%. None of the members can level up.
Also, how do you put the awards pics of the old version, on the 3.8.4 version?

Please provide me information about the used level xml, better a link to your forum.

Just enter the old filename to the new path/filename field.

The activity bars in the postbit won't show up. It just shows "Points ####, Level #, Activity 99%" How can I get the bars to show up? Also, the bars aren't showing up under the Experience tab on the profiles.

Edit: Haha, I got it. I had to reinstall the images into the correct folder for my new skin, lol.

This is one of the biggest releases of vBExperience!

I have redesigned the whole Awards feature, introduced a new centralized page where all activities around vBExperience are collected, added a lot of Custom Data Provider Plugins like Helpful Answers/Post Ranking System and a lot more! Just read the changelog to see all bigger changes. Smaller changes and also iterations between beta version are not included in the changelog.

What is your Posts per Day-Value? (AdminCP, Settings, Experience Activity)

This bugfix resolves problems with the activity. There was a bug in reading out average postcount.

Please overwrite the file class_xperience.php
