I just tried that. I think it has to do with what language is installed for the chat.

1. I uninstalled your non working older chat version. Including removing all the old files.
2. I installed newest chat version. This included adding all the files to your different styles
3. I configured it and got it working. You can post standard characters.

Therefore I did. You are talknig about non standard characters. Simply import the Spanish language. But since I wasted 40 minutes doing all that because you don't have a clue what you are doing, and you uninstalled the chat when you knew I was installing it, and I had to redo all my work over, you can figure the rest out yourself. Since you want to be ignorant.

Negative. Not if you read the instructions. I've done this on about 200 forums.

It's really simple. Uninstall commands, Delete the files, uninstall plugin.

Which errors ?

It works like given in the Install file:

Deactivate the Addon
Uninstall it
Delete the files

Then you can delete the Phrases too if you wish. If you get SQL Errors, you can delete the 4 mgc_evo_... tables:

mgc_cb_evo_channel
mgc_cb_evo_chat
mgc_cb_evo_command
mgc_cb_evo_session

oki doki will give it another go later

Im posting again with the same problem, some special chars will not work with chatbox while using opera browser, f.e "(" "!". Anybody have common problem?

And i still getting sql errors sometimes while browsing the archive of chatbox.

SQL errors are because you upgraded incorrectly.

I know this is not the question a developer would like to hear but is there an ETA on when the new version is going to be released? The reason why I am asking this is because of this post. My members are going to crazy because of it... it is a really annoying bug lol.

That's a server issue. Unless it's marked in the known issue.

Unless it's that medium issue where chat's don't get removed during inactivity.

And I'm pretty sure when he's done, it will come out. He'll say the same I did. ;) Quality or crap. Crap = rush.

It's an known issue. Dev replied to it saying so and indeed, I think it's that medium issue hehe. Lets hope the problem is getting fixed soon. Thanks for the quick reply Power Ranger! :D

It's gotta be on the linux boxes. Oddly I host both Windows and Linux and neither have had this issue. But for sql errors, your best bet is to find the version you had prior, and the current. REMOVE all mgc files. uninstall. If error doesn't go away, reinstall, uninstall (yeah, I know WTF! but doing this recreates the tables you are missing) and then start over. If you want help with this just ask.

I didn't see it mentioned anywhere but I would just like to make a couple requests on the new version perhaps maybe others would feel they would be beneficial as well...

1. If there is a way to make it so that the BB CODE drop down menu stays active for all users at all times. I always have members asking me how to post a picture etc, where I feel that if they could actually see the BB CODE icons then it would help members be able to know how to post pictures and change font color on the fly etc.

2. If there is a way to make it so that when users are active in the chat that they will show up under the "Currently Active Users" list. I noticed that when users and just kickin back in the chatbox for a length of time that their names disappear from the currently active users list.

Are you talking about the "Inactive Mode" or the "Chatbox sessions validity time"? I am a little unsure, but if so then how does the session validity time work? As stated before, my concern is when members come on the forum, and then jump on the chatbox, they become listed as INACTIVE after the set Session Timeout time. So then they don't appear on the "Currently Active Users" list anymore. Yet they are on the chatbox posting away...

In the users online list, the musername isn't being parsed. I get no usergroup styling for this portion only, help please?

I think I haven't implemented the musername parsing in the users online list. I am adding it to the feature request.

Thats the strange thing, when looking into the php file I do see fetch_musername and every *once* in awhile one or two members will show up styled.

Oh ok see were on two different things here. My concern is when people get on the forum and while chatting in the chatbox for a length of time, their name will disappear off the FORUMS Currently Active Users List. The one that shows up at the BOTTOM of the forum. Also the "WHOS ONLINE" list is affected as well. So basically if someone were to be chatting in the chatbox for like 20 minutes, and I clicked on the "WHO'S ONLINE" link, their name would disappear from the list. Does that make any sense?

the MGS chatbox options are available in admincp but chat box is not visible on forum page..

Enable them. They are not enabled by default. Goto the admin cp, mgc and enable.

Really ? Was it for users that doesn't have a style the other times ?

This is normal as the chatbox refresh is based on ajax calls and the refresh of the whosonline is disabled for them in the mgc chatbox files.

I haven't noticed if it's the same users styled everytime, I'll keep an eye out and update later.

MGC Chatbox uninstall is broken. It only removes part of the application which renders usergroup adds inoperable.

I had to re-install the product and disable it to fix the problem.

Hey Dev,

Reporting back on the who's online styling. Appears to be completely random who gets styling and who doesn't. Seems to change on a daily basis, not usergroup dependent as well. However the user seems to keep the styling IF it gets assigned for as long as they are logged into the site.

If you follow the instructions, there should be no problem. Most forget to remove the commands and remove files. If you don't follow the order in the txt file, it will cause those issues.
