Yes they can. I have been creating threads all over the forum tagging this normal registered user in the very first post/thread.

they get the notification but it doesn't show up on their profile!!!!!!

when tagging @ in replies, it is fine!

"Can View Forum" and "Can View Threads" are required to view mentions from a specific forum.

Can you try mentioning them in a forum where they have all the normal permissions?


PS: The amount of exclamation marks are insufficient to satisfy my personal interests. :p

You can enable manual postbit deployment, and then simply not paste it anywhere in the templates.
