Yeah the email error is a known bug it will be fixed in BETA 2. Would you prefer it to still mail or pm?

divided_by_fear 10-27-2005 11:19 PM

bro to be honest i cant make that choice... you made the mod so i guess you can make the final call... not trying to sound harsh or nothing, but im just thankful to have such a mod... um if the mail could be fixed then that would be great maybe have it mail there email the way it would if you chose to have it email them to activate there accounts... or even a pm would be good.. but the final call is up to you i feel which ever is easier for you since your doing this for free for us... people just need to be thankful your will to fix these such things...

edit: or what do you think about doing away with the whole mail thing and having it show your link and button this way it dont have to mail it dont have to pm it would just show it right there on that page below it ;) ... kinda like phpnuke does... maybe have a block under it when they submit telling them to link us then we will link you back... just giving ideas on such a great mod

Please note that the next release will be BETA 2, not the GOLD release of the hack.

mfizzel 10-29-2005 03:14 PM

how is the beta going so far? would you recommend to only install it for testing purposes?

Yes, it's important that you only install for testing purposes. The more people testing the quicker a GOLD version is released. :)

Okay thanks for reporting. From the looks of the errors, I probably left a $DB_site somewhere in that file...

Lyricsmama 11-01-2005 10:03 PM

Hi.
First of all, thank you very much for your hard work and for giving us this hack :)

I installed and so far all but one thing is working great:
for some reason in the admin page I cannot see more than the first page when using the 'manage affiliates' option. Consequently I could not aprove more entries than those shown in the first page. When clicking on the 'next' link it showed me the same entries.

I am sure there is something I did wrong?

For the moment I just edited the affiliatesadmin.php file and increased the value of $perpage but that is certainly not the correct solution.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :)

I had the same problem, but your work-around is working good.

Any info on an official fix?

Just an update: All bugs will be fixed and I will test out everything privately for about 2-3 days. Once I am satisfied with the product I will release BETA 1.0.8. Then if there are no bug reports it will be changed as BETA 2.

I have a few coding stuff I have to do for a client that I must finish before though...

mfizzel 11-03-2005 02:00 PM

can't wait :)

With the next release I'll install it on my forum, it's quite active so I should be able to help with bug reporting.

Paul-WA 11-04-2005 02:50 PM

First of all I'd just like to say this is a great mod and works fine apart from one thing; it says I don't have permission to view the page. It's the common message that reads:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Is there a way for me to change the permissions for the affiliates section? Or is this message showing due to a different error? Anyone know? Before anyone says, yes I am the administrator.

RaidenDAWG2 11-04-2005 04:35 PM

Usergroup manager -> edit the permissions for every group ;)

DS MrSinister 11-05-2005 04:52 AM

This hack hasn't been tested on 3.5.1. The next release will work on 3.5.1.

DS MrSinister 11-05-2005 05:43 PM

SuperFly 11-11-2005 01:54 AM

How would i remove the affilate block from the admin cp?

Guest190829 11-11-2005 02:11 AM

Remove the xml file in includes/xml

MThornback 11-11-2005 12:10 PM

I'm missing 1-2 phrases...when I forget to add a title to an entry or its too short, I get a blank popup window....any idea what/where the missing phrase is, so I can add it manually? :)

loonytune15 11-11-2005 04:04 PM

Hope you update this soon. I've installed but without be able to access permissions its pretty useless currently.

davidw 11-11-2005 08:07 PM

Have you gone into your usergroup settings and given yourself permissions?

Guest190829 11-11-2005 08:43 PM

No, they mean that it's not showing at all in the usergroup manager. There is something wrong with the xml file. I fixed that, but now for some reason the settings in the admincp aren't editing. I have to fix that.

Guest190829 11-11-2005 09:07 PM

Okay I got the settings bug fixed. Now I am trying to get the mail function to work. :)

davidw 11-11-2005 09:28 PM

Good work Danny :) - I'm waiting it out for a little bit due to other site issues :)

loonytune15 11-12-2005 12:55 AM

any chance of updating the zip with the fix for the settings please?

Guest190829 11-12-2005 12:56 AM

The fix was a settings was an error on my part when editing one of the files..it shouldn't be a bug with earlier versions..

loonytune15 11-12-2005 01:00 AM

Well i'm in my usergroups right now, and i cant see anywhere to allow users to see the affiliates page. Thats includes admin.

I'm vb3.5.1 if that makes any difference.

Electronic Punk 11-12-2005 12:24 PM

I also just installed it and can't see the setting. Like what I can see so far though and am looking forward to playing ;)

Has anyone had a chance to work on a new CMPS module yet?

Lena Starling 11-12-2005 07:18 PM

Lena Starling, you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons:

Your user account may not have sufficient privileges to access this page. Are you trying to edit someone else's post, access administrative features or some other privileged system?
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

I don't see any place where I can edit permissions... A little advice, please?

Gracias!
Lena

The current version of the hack is not compatible with 3.5.1. I'm guessing your using that version..

Sinistra 11-13-2005 04:58 PM

Nope She is using 3.5.0 I have fixed the issue for her XD permission issue >> ^_^
