Ok, well I ran the award_install.php again, tried to run it's install link but that had an error. So I ran the upgrade link which went through fine. Looks like it reset a number of the settings though. I'm concerned it may have wiped out some 3.08 template changes too?

My forums are still functional though.

As far as I know its only adding own templates and not modifying any original one.
Good to hear that its working for you again :D

Is it 3.5 compatible?

Is it possible to also let my mods give the awards?

MillerLight 08-09-2005 06:11 PM

Hello,

Is there any services available that would install this particular hack on a vB Version: 3.0.8 release?

Marco van Herwaarden 08-09-2005 07:38 PM

If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, you can always request someone do it for a small payment for you in the Service Request forum.

Boguns 08-15-2005 04:14 PM

I installed the awards system, did all the editing but it still only shows in the member profile. I cant get it to show in postbit....help?

mtha 08-17-2005 09:36 PM

:) Seems like people are having problems here. Sorry I was away for a while. Will get back to you guys.

I havent install vb3.5 yet, but I will upgrade it for 3.5 (dont have any deadline yet)

for those who got the error something like

Quote:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.3:

Invalid SQL: SELECT * FROM vb3_award_cat
WHERE award_cat.award_cat_id = 1
ORDER BY award_cat_displayorder

mysql error: Unknown table 'award_cat' in where clause

mysql error number: 1109

find the line 1109 in the file that you are calling, replace

SELECT * FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "award_cat

by

SELECT * FROM " . TABLE_PREFIX . "award_cat AS award_cat

any place that are missing " . TABLE_PREFIX . ", please add the prefix in.

I will take a look at my files and correct it.

Thanks for using YAAS!

mtha 08-18-2005 04:53 AM

upgrade from 1.2.0 to 1.2.1:
for those who have PREFIX in the database tables, and get database error, please re-upload the new files in 1.2.1 version

2005.08.18 - Version 1.2.1
- fix some bug for database with PREFIX
- Update: upload/replace the files in the attachment (awards.php, request_award.php)
- Re-edit request_award.php with your settings (you may want to make a backup of your old request_award.php and copy the settings over)

I dont use CMS, but this could be done, I will think about this.

Awards should be given by admin. why should it be given in a thread?

There's a field called Award Name, you can edit the right templates to display Award Name instead of its images. Which templates need to be edited depends on where you want to display what. it's not an option by default.

vb3.0.8 upgrade was wipe out the original YAAS settings, so you just need to run the upgrade link again, it will add the YAAS templates back. No vB templates are changed during this process.

Check to make sure all the settings are still correct.

Again, if anyone get database error, due to table prefix, please upgrade to YAAS 1.2.1 by replacing (awards.php, request_award.php)

You may also need to re-edit the award_request.php for your custom settings.

Update: I am converting this hack to 3.5.0.

Award Mamager: done.

Thanks for the great awards system, installed flawlessly ^^;;

Well, when I say flawlessy, I spent a good 10 minutes trying to figure out how to award members. I thought the 'Manage' option was just to edit LOL I'm just very stupid, so thank you for the manual :D

*clicks install*

Could you share that?

mtha 09-21-2005 10:45 PM

just add this link <a href="awards.php">Awards</a> to the place that you want to display it.

in navbar, you may need a <td></td> outside.

you have to configure the award-request setting, in order to receive information as you want'

There's No setting to do this. You can try to upload the files in admincp to modcp, and see if your fellow can use it. I cant give further modification at this time.

Yes.

You must have done something wrong. Try to reverse the first edit on memberlist.php,
just use original

$globaltemplates = array(
);

Dont add the awardsbit template, and see how it work

Quote:

There's an option in setting to turn it off. you then can remove the request_award.php file too.

Quote:

In member prodile, the award image is displayed at the bottom, together with award name and reason, isnt it?

Mr.T 11-04-2005 06:08 PM

Hello,

first thank you for this great hack. But I've one question.
The title of the automatic post shows the username of the person, who requests an award for another user. But I want that the title looks like:

XXX Award Request Form
_________________________________________

Award Request Form - XXX

------------------
Sender information

UserID: yyy
Username: zzz

I hope you understand, what I mean. I think, that the change must be in the awards_request_formanswers the first line
Code:

$formtitle - $bbuserinfo[username]
instead of $bbuserinfo[username] $answer2 but it doesn't work.

I hope you can help me and you understand my bad english.

T

you want to chaneg the post/thread title?

well, it's not that simple,

you need to look at request_award.php file, there's few places where

in the insert query, it insert this for title:

'".addslashes(htmlspecialchars($vbulletin->userinfo[username]))." $formtitle'

You need to change in there.

CAUTION: you need to know what you are doing, when you make the changes.

My time is limited now, so I cant do that coding for you. I dont use that form anyway.

Did you ever get this functional?

If so, can you help me out... I think the author shouldn't have added this feature as it is unmanagable without how you request it.

I didnt want to add it in either, just that some members want to have it, so I add Edwins' form hack there. if you want. Maybe you should just disable it, as I dont have time to give alot of support over that function.

(not right now)

maybe later on, I write a complete different one, for the purpose

Any suggestions?
