yea, i had to wipe mine out as well... o.O and it was working fine but i think one of my admin *stabs the bastard* messed somethin up and i can't figure out where it would cause all members to lose their permissions to use it even when it's all saying it should be on in the admin cp

So, is there anyway I can just have the shoutbox refresh after I posted a message on the homepage instead of the whole page refreshing, or as the other guy said, make it so when you press submit it automatically refreshes and takes you back to the bottom of the page instead of scrolling down to the shoutbox again.

I have upgrate vbulletin to 3.0.3 version, and I have installed The shoutbox hack 1.04. But I have a problem, the box were is the shoutbox stay the same color than the background and I don't have any message. Can someone help me?

After there are some shouts made the odd color should go away.

I have try to reinstall the hack, but it doesn't works. I've try to reupload files. Nothing have changed. (The iframe always stay empty).

I need help, for some reason I can't see anywhere where I can edit or delete any members shoutbox posts.

I have done all user permissions and everything and still can't see a thing where I can delete or edit shouts.

I had the same problem previously but it wasn't with the hack. It was with my Norton's popup blocker. Once I turned it off it ended the problem. I just use another popup blocker instead.

So far Debbi, Wapture and I all have problems with the Shoutbox on the index page refreshing the entire page (as opposed to just the iframe) when a Shout is posted.

Perhaps this has something to do with one of XP SP2's patchy little security fixes (like the annoying locking of the status bar).

I can honestly say I'm having no problems with the Shoutbox except for the page refreshing on the index when a shout is posted from there. I did have some problems with the install and had to go into phpMyAdmin and manually remove everything pertaining to the Shoutbox and then reinstall it. After that all was well.

I accidently closed the install window after i did the file edits, and now i get database errors when trying to run the installer again

You need to go into the database via phpmyadmin and do the following:

go into table: language
Delete the field: phrasegroup_shoutbox

go into table: phrasetype
Delete the field id: 716 (do a search on it if you can't find it.)

delete table: shoutbox_posts

Go into table: usergroup
Delet the fields: shoutboxpermissions, shouthierarchy, shoutmaxdaily

go into table: user
delete the fileds: shouts, shoutbanned

Then retry your installer (backup your database first, just in case)

ummm not that specific, there is a way to limit total posts by users though...

A lot of people dont realize that you need to read the file inside the folders.

I have the very same problem. Perhaps it is caused by a previous failed installation? (I did find a shoutbox.php in the forum folder). If so, how do I uninstall?

:rolleyes: that is not the very same problem, that is the standard error message when there is an issue with vBulletin doing somthing with the database.
