Some of our members are reporting a strange behavior of the cursor when they are placing text. The cursor shoots out of the textbox. I've looked if i could see what they mean and indeed...sometimes this happens. Is there something to do about this???

I'm guessing it's the iFrame's auto-refresh. For 1.01 (probably released today - HTL only (so if you don't have the Hack Tracking Log, get it now)) I'm taking the textboxes out of the iFrame and putting them back into forumhome so auto-refreshes won't refresh the textbox as well.

Make sure you have added all of the templates, edited all the files, and edited the forumhome template.

If I have 1.0 installed, what do I need to do or undo to install the HTL version?

Link i dont know if you have or not, but does not seem it to me, but you do not have a normal text guide to installing this, which i believe the new rules say you must have incase people wish not to use the HTL

To tell you the truth, I'd rather kill myself than make some text installer that would take someone ages to install. Would any sane person want to insert 50 or 60 phrases (or something like that) by hand or spend 5 minutes uploading the HTL and running the install for it?

what fixes have been make in the latest version?

SOME of us cant get that stupid hack to install and dont really want to mess with it anymore, and the main reason I want the upgrade is for the iframe changes

If you have trouble with the HTL then you should post in the HTL thread, but looking at your post, you either didn't edit a file or two, either way, if hackadmin.php works, this hack can be installed with ease.

I'm not making a txt file by hand - it's just not going to happen. When the HTL is capable of making .txt files, I'll make one, but it's 10x easier to use the .htl rather than a .txt file.

Just delete the shoutbox_install directory and install_shoutbox from your admincp directory if you haven't already and upload the files in your upload folder (shoutbox.php to the forums root, and the contents of the htlfiles directory to wherever you put the htlfiles directory that was created when installing the HTL), and then run the "SHOUTBOX 1.0 TO 1.1 UPGRADE" install in the HTL. After it's done, select 'Delete Hack' from the dropdown and select "Shoutbox Hack" from the install list and tell it to import only.

I see that this info was missing from the install.txt. I just wanted to confirm this is correct, because I don't yet really understand HTL and what everything does. Does this remove the hack from my board??

No, hitting "Delete Hack" just removes it from the HTL page - you should do it just because having the upgrade in the HTL is unnecessary.

If this is a rule, they really need to update the announcement in the Full Releases forum...

I hate HTL and i hate phrases since they produce more errors then phpbb light beta 0,1. But it's the future and so i move on and install all those techno stuff and i don't know any longer what i'm doing. Just hope for the best and...ofcourse! ERROR. Yeah, I forgot to take table prefixes into account when I made the .htl file.... whoops.

Your usergroup(s) do not have permission to use the shoutbox.

Thats what i get when i enter the shoutbox. Im the admin to =(.
I tryed re hacking init.php user.php usergroup.php and so on with no luck.

Link14716 could you deliver a textbased upgrade instruction for the shout please. The HTL has a bug so i can't re-install it. Now i have a working shout with different templates and javascript errors because of a partitional upgrade which i can't repair without a full upgrade.

1.02 now checks for blank and duplicate shouts. :)

I also fixed the 1.0 to 1.01 upgrade HTL.

Delete the hack out of the HTL, first of all. Then run uninstall.sql in phpMyAdmin (located in the misc folder of the zip). Then go back to the HTL and start the install process over again.

thnx for that. I think you should look at the sql files for non htl hacking coz they seemed to have caused the problems :) cuda jus been me, but i did do them in the ryt order and they all came out with errors :p why did i carry on? i duno lol,

I haven't tested it on RC4, but I can say with 99% certainty that it works with RC4.
