The duplicate content was our concern as well and, in fact, has kept us from using this. To the author, if you could change the software so that it created a post in vBulletin using say, just the opening para from the main article, it would be much more acceptable to Google.

Our goal is to post articles from the main site and then to have people visit the forums for detailed conversation on the articles...

Any idea?

Am very interested in this plugin as the vBulletin CMS is woeful.

I am primarily interested in integrating forum content into a Wordpress CMS.

Can you easily incorporate content such as forum login box, forum statistics, who's online, recently updated threads, new threads etc. into a Wordpress based CMS?

When I get some spare time, this will be the next feature i implement.

Have you tried changing the vb db to utf-8?

This plugin does integrate forum content into Wordpress very well.

It does not have options for who's online and that stuff. There are other WP plugins that do that part.

Also, for not real good reason than I can, I've decided to take Bitcoin for the plugin :)

Ya the duplicate content is too much of an issue with Google and they are very open to allowing an introductory para and link. Once this is amended, we will be all over this, as will a ton of websites that I know alone.

So i think i can do some of this pretty easily.

What I'm thinking is an option that says "Use excerpt instead of full article text" when posting to vb.

Yes that option should work fine and just include the first para or the first few lines with a '...' at the end.

After that, can the link be included in the vb post automatically?

for some reason i thought wordpress autogenerated the excerpt.... it doesn't seem to be doing that.
so this option wouldn't work for auto generated content....

but maybe there are other plugins that will deal with the auto excerpt part.

I can add an option to append the link though.

What's the best way to install the update?

So I dont quite understand....will it generate a post with excerpt and link? Also, can I ask what type of title is rendered? Is it the same as the full article?

I tried to install it with vbulletin 4.2.2 and wordpress 3.7.1 - not working at all :(

Please do. I'm close to upgrading my forums to 4.2.2 and I want to integrate your bridge, but want to make sure that everything will work.

Unfortunately, since I'm not a full time forum manager, my site has been hacked, defaced, spammed and whatever else you guys deal with on a daily basis, and now my WP theme is outdated and throwing errors, so I'm just going to start from scratch. So it'll be a while before I have something to report. I am going to remake the site from scratch so I can get a good idea of what's going on.

I just put this site up so that it can demo the plugin, but I find myself spending so much time on just combating the spam and hack attempts, I don't even know if it's really worth it anymore.

All you have to do is overwrite the plugin directory with the new one.

The title is not affected by this change.

As for the excerpt and link, yes. If the option is selected, it will pull the WP excerpt into vb instead of the post content. It will then append the permalink to the new vB post. You can customize the link text in the WP plugin settings.

I just bought this nice plugin. Was looking for something like that for ages. Great work!
But I have a little problem. The login via vBulletin allways gives me some errors. Seems like there is a problem with other plugins. Login via wordpress works fine.

And I wonder if it is possible to post content from a specific wp-category to a sepcific vB forum? Or is it just possible to post into one forum?

In the wordpress plugin, there is a button that says add vb plugins. Hit that and they'll be added automatically.

The sync issue has been fixed. Jst confirmed it with coreallsoftware via skype. new update posted.
