I am trying to use this to replace Amazon and eBay links w/ my affiliate ID, but it doesn't seem to be working.

eg: If someone enters this link:

Code:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001PGXHXA/ref=s9_qpp_gw_p267_d10_g267_ir01?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=0WG50Y1B36006JYYTSV3&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=470938631&pf_rd_i=507846
I want it to automatically enter my affiliate ID. But it leaves the link unchanged. I believe I have everything set correctly in the admin:

Word/Phrases to link:

Amazon
Amazon.com
www.amazon.com
http://amazon.com/
http://www.amazon.com/

URLS to link words to:

http://www.amazon.com/?tag=affiliateID
http://www.amazon.com/?tag=affiliateID
http://www.amazon.com/?tag=affiliateID
http://www.amazon.com/?tag=affiliateID/
http://www.amazon.com/?tag=affiliateID/

I have Case Sensitive set to No
Match Whole Words Only set to No

What am I doing wrong?

Doesn't work like that. (explained in more detail in your post on my site.)

SilverBoy 08-17-2012 05:31 AM

Is this great mod supporting only English keywords?
I have an Arabic forum, and test it there, but with no chance to get word linked, but if I add English word as keyword it works like a charm.

Please fix this important point, because I'm very interesting in your gold version :).

BirdOPrey5 08-18-2012 09:26 AM

I believe it has to do with utf-8 and text being from different char sets, I'm not sure if there is much I can do about it, will check though.

SilverBoy 08-18-2012 09:48 AM

I'm using Windos-1256 not utf-8 !!
and in mysql collation (latin1_swedish_ci)

Very sorry if this has been asked already but just so many threads to go through, is this available for 3.8?

I would really like a mod like this for 3.8 - I have vbgeek but they don't exist now unfortunately.

Thanks!

How many Links can handle this Add-On?

It is possible to link to a wiki, that is on my server?

Thank you

Hi :)

I searched the thread but may have been missing the right keywords.

The mod breaks my VBulletin 4.2 pages, and I didn't know if you had any thoughts on it.

Some example pictures for you:

can you post a link to that content so I can see how it looks (HTML source wise)-
And please post what the keyword(s) you were using were that caused the issue.

It works fine on 4.2.0 on my and many other sites- can you get from your error log what the exact error it's causing is?

How many keywords do you have setup? If it was thousands I suppose there's a chance it's running out of memory.

Thank you very much
Nice MOD ...
But how can i use other languages ? Like Persian ...
I need this MOD turn the persian words to link too ...
Is there anyway to solve this problem ?

axix20xx 09-02-2012 07:23 AM

Anyone can help me???

BirdOPrey5 09-02-2012 01:35 PM

No idea on the other languages yet. My guess it's the same reason vBulletin doesn't officially support UTF-8 some php functions just don't work.

Let me ask- does the search work on your site?

GCC LLC 09-07-2012 07:20 PM

My apologies if this has already been asked, I read through the posts here and I didn't seem to find anything that addressed this specifically.

Is there some way to have this plugin stop linking a specific word if it's already been linked elsewhere in the thread? Example:

Post 1: Buy here on Amazon (Amazon is linked to Amazon.com)
Post 2: I bought that on Amazon like you recommended (In this instance, since Amazon was already linked in post 1, it should not be linked in any further posts).

I'm pretty handy with hacking PHP and plugins so if this is something you don't want to incorporate but have any suggestions, I'm happy to run with them. Thanks!
Thanks!

no , didnt work
but when i turn sql in utf-8 mode
it is work

yjeanrenaud 10-26-2012 05:47 PM

what a great mod! I just bought it and it works like a charm. but: Max Number Of Links Per Page is limiting only on showthread, not in CMS or blogs? will it be possible to limit the linked words in CMS articles and/or comments seperately and/or combined?

isn't that controlled by the setting "Max Number Of Links Per Page"?

yjeanrenaud 10-29-2012 08:59 PM

oh, and I just found a bug in the gold version: when using CSV files and the file is empty or corrupted, you will loose your cms previews. dunno why

kartheekb 11-02-2012 08:17 AM

i think this mod will increase bounce rate..

not so good for seo i think.. many out going links will happen from our site..

yjeanrenaud 11-02-2012 12:38 PM

depends on how you config this mod. I use it for internal links to different sub forums

yjeanrenaud 11-03-2012 11:39 AM

is it possible to prevent this mod from tagging words in bb-tables?

yjeanrenaud 11-03-2012 08:41 PM

oh and I found a bug!: when you use vbseo acronyms and this mod, you get strange effects:
text is
PHP Code:

WP8-Smartphone

acronym mouseovers WP8 with "Windows Phone 8" and Wordlink should link it, you get:
PHP Code:

Windows Phone 8">WP8-Smartphone

tambo 11-08-2012 06:30 PM

On BOP5's page, he says:
Quote:

There is no actual limit to the number of words you can link but a practical limit does exist where load times become unacceptable. I never intended this mod to be used for hundreds or thousands of links so please test the free version on your server before buying the GOLD to see if your server can handle big lists if that is your intent.
What are people's experiences of what that practical limit is?

Are we talking 10, 20 or 100 defined links in the list before it gets unworkable?

yjeanrenaud 11-08-2012 07:56 PM

I use like 400 and there are even some overlapping e.g. ipad and ipad mini. works perfect.

MarceloS 11-13-2012 03:22 PM

Nice mod.

Do you have some way to import from Geek Auto Linker (GAL)?

celisto 11-15-2012 02:38 PM

great work, exactly what i've been looking for quite some time.

No, sorry... Never even seen that mod installed.

yjeanrenaud 11-27-2012 07:03 PM

Hi,
I would like to precent this mod from tagging certain CMS article in certain categories. but there is no option. Would there be a workaround e.g. using a bb or html tag to stop Word Links from linking?

BirdOPrey5 11-29-2012 11:13 PM

Actually yes you can do a work around in that way. You would need to add a custom BB Code, say call it: [nolink]

The code for the bb code would be:
Code:

<c>{param}</c>

And then in the word link settings add the following to the very end of the Custom Regex setting:
Code:

</c>|
That will tell the mod not to link any word between <c> tags, and since <c> isn't used by HTML your browser will just ignore them.

yjeanrenaud 11-30-2012 07:18 AM

great, thanks!

Wouldn't noparse BBcode do the trick also? I usually use noparse BBcode. And I think nothing than parses what's inside.

Does your mod parses even text inside noparse BBcode?

BirdOPrey5 11-30-2012 04:23 PM

noparse won't work because this mod works on text AFTER it has already been parsed, because vBulletin stores post-parsed content in its cache.

tpearl5 12-14-2012 04:05 PM

I'm having a little issue with whole word linking when the word is next to a dash (-) character. For example, with 120-300mm, "300mm" is being linked. Any ideas?

Pure Dope 12-15-2012 03:12 PM

i think it would be easy to use this mod to change bad words into images. what do you think? sound like in order to do that youd only change a few lines? i think i could do it though...shouldnt be 2 hard...

What was supposed to be linked? 120-300mm?

Not supported.

In this case nothing should be linked, but 120-300mm would link if I had that as a definition.

addamroy 01-15-2013 12:28 PM

Is there anyway to add additional options so I can use some wordlinks with one group of forums/usergroups included/excluded but have another set of wordlinks for a different set of forums/usergroups included/excluded?

I want to be able to show certain wordlinks to guests, but different wordlinks to members.

AusPhotography 01-16-2013 07:51 AM

Great mod, we have it working nicely...

AusPhotography 01-23-2013 06:36 AM

Not sure why yet, but if you use the CSV file, the last line is ignored.
Workaround... put a dummy last line.

Edit: I had a malformed line in the file with an extra ,
This code caused the problem (well sort of)
Code:

  $bop_find_array = array_filter($bop_find_array);
  $bop_find_array = array_values($bop_find_array);

  $bop_replace_array = array_filter($bop_replace_array);
  $bop_replace_array = array_values($bop_replace_array);

The two arrays ended up with a different number of elements.
