Great product. I have had it for a several months now. I have always used the URL for the youtube video however and it worked fine.
Today, with out any changes made what so ever.... the videos stopped displaying... just a blank space. Any ideas? This happened on 2 of my forums. |
happened to me too! no videos!
|
same here, what's happening?
|
working now :) maybe youtube went down for a bit?
|
I dont even use this and it happened to my embedded videos as well, So i think it was youtube.
|
I agree because after checking, I am not using this plugin either.
Hope it was just a once in a lifetime issue. :) |
Judging by your conversation, it may have been a youtube related issue. If the problem occurs again, try deactivating the plugin to check if it's really the plugins' fault, if so, post here again.

We've been running this add-on since the beginning and it's been great !!
For some reason, we've started getting complaints from some members running Windows 7 and various IE versions, that all they get is a blank white window where video should appear.. Although I only use FireFox, Safari and Chrome on a MacBook Pro computer, I decided to start up a PC under Windows 7 using IE10 and sure enough, I get the same problem members have reported. I've attached a pic and you can see with the Windows 7 and IE10 combo, I get a blank white screen pic, although the video briefly flashes and appears before that happens, then there's a string of HTML code that is show to the bottom right of the empty video box. Any ideas how to fix this? Thanks .. :) Regards, Doug |
Did you change anything in the settings?
Do you use any other mods which might perform changes on the html source code? The bugged-out html code isn't part of my mod. I just checked with IE8 and a vanilla mod-installation.. works fine for me. |

The only odd thing is that it appears in a thread where some posters used the built-in vBulletin [video] bbcode and your add-on code also was used... Perhaps a conflict with [video] bbcode? Is there someplace I can disable that built-in code to test that possibility? I tested it with IE8 and XP as well and it worked fine... Something odd about Windows 7 and IE10 rendering? Thanks for your help .. Regards, Doug |
The thing is, I don't use IE at all, therefore I don't optimize anything for it since it's just a bad product. I assume the IE10 render engine does some stuff on its own and inserts some kind of additional code which messes up the site. I see what i can do, but don't expect miracles :)
In the meantime, suggesting a better browser to your forum users might be healthy as well. |

Is there any place I can turn OFF the vBulletin [video] bbCode function? I've looked everywhere and can't seem to locate a place where that's handled.. This seems to be the code that's hanging losse from the blank white video box: Code:
"<![endif]-->" origwidth="640" origheight="385" aspect="1.66233766233766" Doug |
This is a good plugin, but a few issues:
1) It should conform tp vB4.2 (I know it works fine, but still). 2) When one creates a YouTube link with text, this plugin shouldn't automatically convert it to an embedded videos. Thanks. |
Works perfect vb 4.2 PL3
|
I have a problem with new links:
http://youtu.be/f5FP2ty_J-w It doesn't be recognised and changed to play the video, Any help? Thanks! |
awesome
|
Is there any solution to the "related videos" that pop up at the end of the embedded youtube videos? Some of them are downright raunchy and inappropriate for our forum. I see that if you use the embed code that you can suppress the related videos, but not with the "share" code which works with this mod.
|
I guess you could look if a specific parameter suits your needs: https://developers.google.com/youtub...ers#Parameters
But that's not in the scope of the mod really. |
Is there a similar version of the old passive vid which played almost any popular video host in the post? This seems to be a good start.
Any problems with this mod and Vb 4.2.1 ? Thanks, Johnnie |

Hi,
I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. Everything works perfectly fine - I run 4.2.0 PL3, but when the format is like this: Code:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v= Thank you in advance!!! :) |
Hello, I use this mod on my forum www.youtubegaming.com and it has worked perfectly for me.
I have one suggestion/question about it. Can I make this so it works in specific forums by forum ID's or another way? How do I do this if its possible? Also, do you do any other vbulletin YouTube API work that you'd be willing to do on the side? Thanks, Chris |

It is possible with a few lines of code, yes. But it is not planned as a feature right now, because the addon aims to be as simple as possible.
If you were to purchase a contract work from me, I'd be willing to add the feature extension for the youtube addon on top of it. Just add a note to your pm. |
I sent you a PM. Just waiting on a response whether your interested or not.
|
I installed it just fine... but... it no workie...
[EDITED] update... well it started working out of the blue... I guess nevermind.. |
Hello,
I got this work in the forum posts, but is it supposed to work in CMS articles? Thanks, |
So, what section would that code be added in? Thanks!
|
What would be easier, adding the CMS functionality to this mod, or creating a separate mod to handle video links in the CMS?
|
Installed.
Works perfectly on 4.2.1. Thank you! |
Thnx!!! This is what i have searched. installed.
|
Great plugin. Works great.
|

This is the Regex I'm using: Code:
/<a href=\"https?:\/\/(([a-zA-Z]{0,3}.youtube\.com\/watch\?(.+?&)?v=)|(youtu\.be\/))([a-zA-Z0-9-_]+)(.*?)?\"( target=\"_blank\")?>.*?<\/a>/s Position Index: 5 Takes care of some of the "feature" parameters that crop up in URL's and also new lines that can happen inside a href tags when a link is copied from some browsers |
works great on 4.2.2. Thanks.
|
Great mod, but for some reason this has stopped working for us. using vB4.2.2
**sorry got it sorted** |
Marked as installed. Works as advertised... thank you! (vb 4.2.2)
