Need your help please, with my lack of understanding
In "VBSEO sitemap setting" the field placement site map (Sitemap Files URL)
Wrote in explanation that the sitemap is located by default in the ROOT
Site Map created by Vbseo created in directory - vbseo_sitemap/data
Do I need to change something?

Added that if you change the setting have to change the htaccess -
You wrote an explanation: "Edit the. Htaccess file of the folder in which you want to locate your sitemap files. file of the folder in which you want to locate your sitemap files."

In short a little confused here
I would be happy if you could give an explanation what to do and what to address in Google Webmasters and Bing

do not upload the htaccess FOLDER.
upload the .htaccess FILE in the htacces FOLDER to your site root, as outlined in the instructions.

There are 10 different webserver rewrite modules in the folder.... if you're on apache, you need to .htaccess one.

Hey Brain thanks for the advice i can finally say it actually WORKED! You was right i had to change the contents inside /data to 644 and only upload the .htaccess file in root. Thanks in advanced, thanks to all the people that helped :)

Edit: Google is showing the sexy green tick :p
/sitemap_forum_1.xml.gz
/sitemap_group_1.xml.gz
/sitemap_member_1.xml.gz
are taking a long time to pend while the other 3 have been complete.

In most cases, leave this setting blank. This is an optional setting for advanced configurations.

you should submit site.com/forumpath/sitemap_index.xml.gz

If your server is slow, you may want to reduce the number of urls per file. I recommend 10-20,000 depending on your server's capabilities. google has a very short timeout.... about 2-4 seconds. if it takes your server longer than this to generate the request, it will mark it as a 404. Lowering the urls per file reduces the file size and increases the download speed.

the nginx ruleset is:

Code:

location /forums/ {

rewrite ^/forums/((urllist|sitemap_).*\.(xml|txt)(\.gz)?)$ /forums/vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_getsitemap.php?sitemap=$1 last;
}

you will need to customize to your actual paths.

dacho 11-25-2010 05:20 PM

Thanks again Brain
I lowered the amount to 15000 and see tomorrow whether he is still unable to enter

godarmy 11-26-2010 03:17 AM

How is this better than the default vbulletin sitemap?

Tahooma 11-30-2010 08:52 PM

Installed and works fine.
only issue is with CMS Stemap.
All links are like /cron.php?6-Example

If i click the link it does not work, if i change "cron.php" to "content.php" the link works.
Any hint why the sitemap creates cron.php links ?

Thanks and br

That tab provides information IF you have the main vBSEO product installed. If you have not purchased vBSEO, it will not display.

The CML Sitemap looks very very strange.
Why content.php.php ?
Why wrong charset ?

Getting these errors when I try to run vBSEO XML Sitemap:

Warning: include_once([path]/./vbseo_sitemap/vbseo_sitemap.php) [function.include-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in [path]/admincp/cronadmin.php on line 113

Done

Do I need to purchase software for this to work?

Hi, why ALL my .xml.gz files have same error code (with different link):

Code:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: http://www.xxx.it/forum/sitemap_forum_7.xml.gz
Line Number 34888, Column 77:  <loc>http://www.xxx.it/forum/threads/16488-Topic-\uffff-1-battery</loc>
----------------------------------------------------------------------------^

In my forum, I have more accent words in topic name.
I have to remove Mod Rewrite Friendly URLs, and use Standard URLs for correct sitemap?

Thanks

where this mod generates sitemap , mean in which folder??

and also tell me the right path to submit it to search engines

thanks

abumohamed 12-10-2010 09:04 PM

My vBulletin Version is 3.8.6 with blog version 2.0.1 and vBSEO 3.5.2, It does not generate blog sitemap and the last file for member has big size more than 2 MB .
Also see two errors

PHP Code:

Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded
in
/home/****/public_html/vb/vbseo/includes/functions_vbseo_url.php on line 680

Maximum execution time of 120 seconds exceeded in

you should submit yoursite.com/forum/sitemap_index.xml.gz

the data physically writes to vbseo_sitemap/data/

the script isn't finishing because of these errors.

you will need to increase your max execution time, or remove some sections from the sitemap so that it completes faster.

regarding the special characters in urls, this is a known issue that likely will not be addressed. It works perfectly with the core vbseo product installed, but alone the sitemap cannot change your vb-generated forum urls.

it's possible that the ask service was down or it timed out while trying to ping it. Don't worry about it... it will re-ping it again next time it runs.

If you're having include errors, odds are something is uploaded to the wrong place or you've set a custom doc root or base tag somewhere else that is causing a conflict.

Well it's been down then a week or better now. :( All I get anymore in my report is Ask Ping: Failed

Can you look into this and see if they are actually down or something has been changed on their end?
