Just installed this and getting the same message

I tried the file you stated but all i got war a blank page with DIR on the top left

Its working on my site but as stated it doing as the other lad said

I have put the exact file extension in the box and even Publicl_html but NOTHING works

1 thing i have just noticed

My logo is an oval shape
Yet this makes it round shaped in the thumbnail and screen shots

That may be due to the thumbnails being set at 100x100px. I'll see if I can improve the thumbnail generator in future :)

It already have categories and sub-categories :) I believe sub-categories are a pro only feature however :(

Is it possible to give the file's uploader the credits spent downloading it?
So in effect you can 'sell' your uploaded items to other users.

I've followed the installation instructions and my admin cp shows this plugin as installed and active. Based on your screenshots I was expecting to see a button in the navbar like I had for DownloadsII but I see neither any errors nor any button or link for accessing the plugin's functionality. Any suggestions for troubleshooting this further?

You will need to configure each of the modules in the Manage Modules section for Downloads. The navbar button is controlled by the global module. I hope this helps :)

Hi, I just installed this mod on my 4.x board after upgrading from 3.8 (using DownloadsII) but when I go to the "Import Utility" nothing shows up. Did I do something wrong or miss something? I tried using it with both the DownloadsII plugin enabled AND disabled and it didn't change anything.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just had to upgrade DownloadsII to the vb 4.x version and then it found it!

I think there is some problem with extension removal feature.

When I click remove extension in extension manager, i get a page not found cause it tries to go /admincp/downloads.php intead of /admincp/vbdownloads.php
I tried to change the url in browser and refresh. it didn't work. didn't have the time to edit the code yesterday.

New issues:

I created an entry with two files and description. When browsing, no description was available.
Clicked edit, the edit window had no description in editor. So my description was lost?
Removed one file, and clicked upload (which should be "save" i think), it created a new entry instead of editing the current one.

This is a new and default installation of 4.1.3.

edit: i submitted the entry under misc category I created. I can see all categories in downloads homepage but no files are shown in the box below the categories :S

Are you sure you are using the latest version? These sound like issues that were fixed recently. I'll have a look at the files posted here.

Is it possible to set a limit on how much a usergroup can download or upload ever?
auto prune downloads not downloaded in x amount of days is a great feature. Please work it in somehow.

There is a daily download feature in the pro version of the mod but there is no lifetime limit feature.

In future:
Separate access thumbs from downloads.
Now if somebody dont have access to download cant see also the thumbs

I suppose this is something I could try and add :) I'll take a look in the next version.

When the importer is used does it retain the statistics from downloads II? I know the files and categories will be imported but the stats will be just as important. Oh and so will comments?

If I do this I lose the sublinks menu. Any way of keeping the sublinks with the navbar disabled?
