Not included with it, but I am looking into it for an upcoming pro version.

washingtonboise 10-23-2010 05:12 AM

I was just comparing this to the version at vbcredits.com, and noticed that the 'thank you' hack can work with this, infact you 'Darkwaltz4' were speaking in that thread yourself and you have been highly active at vbcredits.com

That leads me to wonder if the best way to get a side by side comparison is to simply ask.
A nested, bullet point list would be excellent for anyone else that is in the same situation of trying to compare feature sets: e.g. http://www.vbcredits.com/projects/vbcredits/index.php

tafreeh 10-26-2010 04:40 AM

It worked when i updated it from 3.X version for a while.. then posting got screwed up at my forum, users were unable to even view any thread.. getting error realated to vbcredits..

then all of a sudden that error stop showing and vbcredits stop functioning.. however, in transaction it says this user earn credits.. but users are unable to see their credits increasing.. What is going on ?

khanh.phanvan 10-26-2010 07:08 AM

I wrote both versions, but I am no longer associated with that company. vBCredits II has all of the features from the original in more integrated and modular methods except for the attached bank/lottery features. If you are unsure how to recreate a feature from the original in II, ask and I will explain.

Do you happen to have a copy of what that error was? Seeing it would go a long way in diagnosing what the problem was/is, especially if it keeps changing like that.

This hack has many problems, do not use it!
Referral event not working.
Members get credits reduced without having configured a reduction.
Support is very poor.

That is if the currency cache has not been generated. Do you have currencies defined?
If you PM me an admin login I can check your settings. I might need FTP to debug further if it looks like something is wrong with the code.

tafreeh 10-28-2010 06:39 PM

I have currency defined from vb3.x version.. I didn't do anything with currency after i upgrade to 4.x..

Let me know If I can debug it by myself, if not, then will pm u the admin info...

Thanks

x9751 10-30-2010 06:45 AM

Question and sorry if this is already in their but i didn't see it so i am asking. Are you planing on making it so people can "purchase' the Credits via paypal? Against sorry if this was asked already.

Hi Darkwaltz. Do you think this actionset will ever see the light of day?

neverstop 11-03-2010 05:44 PM

Theres is a bug with the paycheck system.

People who havent logged in for ages receive paychecks for the t imes between their logins.

Example: User registers a year ago.

Never logs in for a year

Logs in and receives a paycheck for the whole year

mikeylikesitz 11-04-2010 02:02 PM

also have an issue with credits being sent to users with a - in their nick, it only sends it to the first part of the nick. so if i sent credits to power-nick it would actually send it to a user name power and not the user power-nick

Try editing and saving something without changing anything in the currency manager. If that doesn't fix it, something in the code must have gotten messed up.

That is going to be in the next major pro version only.

Maybe not that one specifically, but rather the thanks addon from dbtech.

Thats how paychecks work. If you want it to work the way you are describing, use the Activity action instead.

I have this fixed in the pro version... i must have forgotten to backport it into the lite one, which Ill get out an update for soon.

The same code will run the same for both, but for support specific for vb3.8, see: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=245952

Hey Dark, I think I've waited long enough to get this mod. The problem is I currently have the old vbcredits from vbcredits.com and I'm a little hesitant on installing this one over that one. I had numerous add-ons also installed before and I want to make sure I can have all of that cleaned up before upgrading to this vbcredits. Any chance I can get you to help me on this? I can PM you admin details if you want.

Edit: I tried installing this and it gave me a fatal error.

neverstop 11-06-2010 04:00 PM

HI darkwaltz, if that is how paycheck works then there is still a bug for people who have been registered for that year and posting as they do not receive the "back pay". Only users who havent logged in/posted in a long time receive the back pay. Does that make sense?

Sure, PM me and I can help you. Generally, just disable the old version and upgrade. When its done you can reenable. The currencies people have will be converted but the settings will need to be redone as they have changed to new formats.

If you are visiting the site regularly you should be getting the paycheck on the interval immediately. What length of time are you using?

dcuellar 11-08-2010 04:22 PM

Ok. I'll PM you in just a sec. I managed to install it, but anyone who did not transfer their funds to savings lost everything.

What I really need help with is uninstalling all of the old vbcredits.com scripts. I can't just hit the uninstall because it requires an "installer.php" file.

Anyways, PM is on it's way.

dcuellar 11-10-2010 02:39 PM

I'm customizing my postbit_legacy and I can't seem to find the bit of code I need in order to manually add the postbit information to my desired location.

Can anyone help me out with that?

dcuellar 11-10-2010 03:13 PM

Also, I noticed that no one has vbcredits. They have all been reset. Any way to recalculate all vbcredits awarded since the opening of our forums?

The system works with template hooks now, you would move those around.

Yes, in the account manager. More instructions for using it are here: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/threa...lating-Credits

I will be over there to help you tie up the loose ends :D

dcuellar 11-11-2010 05:14 PM

Thanks man.

I'm trying to put it in my postbit. I found that the hook is "credits_display_postbit_row" but I don't know how to use that.

Here is the piece of code and my attempt to plug it in.
Code:

<vb:if condition="$show['credits_post']">
    <div class="eti_postbit">
      <b>$vbphrase[credits]:</b><br /> <span id="cdt_{vb:raw post.postid}_{vb:raw post.userid}">credits_display_postbit_row</span> <vb:if condition="$show['credits_donate']">[<a href="credits.php?$session[sessionurl]do=manage&amp;u={vb:raw post.userid}#donate">$vbphrase[donate]</a>]</if> <vb:if condition="$show['credits_check']">[<a href="credits.php?$session[sessionurl]do=banking&amp;u={vb:raw post.userid}">$vbphrase[check]</a>]</vb:if>
    </div>
</vb:if>

As for the actions...man, I'm really confused on how to set each of them up. It's different from what I did with vbcredits I. I'm going to have to sit down and really take my time to figure this out.

dcuellar 11-11-2010 06:39 PM

Alright, I got the recalculating down. The reason why nothing I was doing was working was because I disabled the actionset thinking it was a part of the old vbcredits.

The actual mod is labeled as "DB Tech:...", whereas the actionset is labeled as just "vbcredits..."

dcuellar 11-13-2010 03:39 PM

If I can make a recommendation it would be to provide us with a video tutorial on how to set up the mod. It could save me HOURS of trying to figure this out on my own. There are programs like screencast that record what you do on your computer's screen and allow you to automatically post it to youtube from there.

Other than that, I'm still waiting to get the mess from vbcredits.com cleaned up. I'd also like to see an answer to this post.

BozzaJos 11-14-2010 06:12 PM

Hey guys,

I already had vBookie installed and after I installed this mod, together with the vBookie "fix", I get the following error when trying to post a new vBookie event:

Database error in vBulletin 4.0.8:

Code:

Can anyone help me with this problem as soon as possible?
Thank you kindly in advance!

UPDTATE: I found my problem. "Give to the Poor" was set on 50 in vBookie settings but I didn't create a new event for it @ vBCredits. :-)

Juggernaut 11-15-2010 02:45 AM

I haven't been able to translate a lot of phrases in the mod, it's not finding the phrases in the acp. :(

No. It won't work. Sadly, I have tried and tried to get that mod updated. No pressure Dark...:D

btw...Dark, just a little reminder...I still have the old vbcredit mods on my site that I need removed. I sent you the PM with my login info already.

Things are NOT looking good on 4.1 beta. Not that I expect the author to have it working for a beta...Just use this as a warning.

This is the error I see when trying to go to credits.php.
Code:

[an error occurred while processing this directive]
Other than that everything else seems to be working. Credits are taken and awarded with vbookie. Thank god I tested 4.1 on a test site though...I'm not making the same mistake I made with the 3.8 -> 4.0 transition.

Juggernaut 11-29-2010 12:58 AM

I get this error message when uploading images to an album from my computer, even after I disable the album event.

Code:

Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: Filename cannot be empty in [path]/dbtech/credits/credits_vbulletin.php on line 327

Warning: file_get_contents() [function.file-get-contents]: Filename cannot be empty in [path]/dbtech/credits/credits_vbulletin.php on line 328

I am using vbcredit deluxe and vbshop. On vbshop settings what do I put in points table & points field so they both use same points database?

Has anyone tested this on 4.1 yet? I want to know that it is working before I upgrade.

Those old links and stuff will no longer work. If you are trying to modify the way that displays, there are official methods with template hooks and overwriting templates instead of template edits :) Let me know if you need that.

v2.0.0 has merged the vbulletin actionset with the main addon. I am preparing the lite version this weekend (the pro one is available now)

I am considering a tutorial and started one... but its a lot harder than youd think :-/
v2.0.0 also cleans up from the old addons, and the pro version merges the old pro addons and cleans those up too.

Thanks, it has been reported before and I am still looking for a solution. The file should still have been accepted correctly though.

You could either go to the currency manager in vbcredits and import the vbshop currencies for use in vbcredits, or pick the column from an existing currency displayed under Field in the currency manager. If you kept the default Credits, it should be "credits" for column, "user" for table.

well the error.. is just the credits doesn't gets added ..they always stay at 0

also i need to delet the older version.. but i get a error saying im missing a file :S
