We don't have the suite and therefore don't have CMS. Would it be safe to delete those plugins?

EDIT: Deleted with no issues.

autoescala 03-13-2013 10:41 AM

Don't appears the option to edit and change the name and date, Im using VBSEO, maybe cause problems with vbseo ?
regards

Toorak Times 03-13-2013 11:20 AM

This still keeps me going, perfect for newspaper/magazine style sites where copy comes in various manners. Did I miss something about this in Blogs?

yjeanrenaud 03-13-2013 11:22 AM

@autoescala: nope. works with vbseo

cavyspirit 03-19-2013 05:05 PM

If I change the post date of the initial post on the thread, will that change the position of that thread in the thread list for that forum? In essence, pushing down that thread in the list?

yjeanrenaud 03-19-2013 05:17 PM

if you sort by creation date, yes.

cavyspirit 03-19-2013 05:28 PM

Oh. I sort by the traditional "Last Post Time." I'm looking for a way to push certain threads down in the forum list.

Divvy 03-22-2013 01:44 PM

Installed! Thank you for the mod!

Btw, what happen if we add a future date?

Thanks!

yjeanrenaud 03-22-2013 02:00 PM

For posts, nothing much, will just look weird. For CMS and blogs, they will be unpublished until then. Very useful though

licensinglinks 04-06-2013 07:34 AM

Works OK for me but the old author is displayed in the Activity Stream. Is there a fix for this?

Toorak Times 04-26-2013 04:53 PM

I could really use this for my Blogs as I have to publish for people at times and it is a pain to have to go in as them and also an intrusion I suppose.

Any help guys?

Scyther 05-12-2013 03:12 AM

Great Mod!
Installed, 5 Stars!

Amaury 07-01-2013 08:31 PM

I noticed this was updated yesterday, but what's in the update?

Bump. I'd also like to know the answer to this. :)

djbaxter 07-22-2013 02:00 PM

*bump* Anyone know what was updated?

dougdirac 07-23-2013 12:52 PM

Also curious about the update. Would love if this worked for blogs.

fxdigi-cash 07-24-2013 03:12 PM

I can't say much, but when looking at both previous and latest version, I can see a lot of changes.

for example, I can see new feature like:

- Change Author And Date Run Once Admin Global
- Old vb-javascript code based replaced with new one using jquery and aweber
- database sql query

I guess the author should explain what he added, otherwise, it sounds like he is either busy or doesn't want to give details for some "unknown" reason(s)...

stevieb 07-29-2013 09:54 AM

well I just loaded it, nothing in acp or in edit message - does it even work for 4.2.0?

Yes.

DF031 07-30-2013 05:35 AM

...

DF031 07-30-2013 05:54 AM

Is this calendar also new ? This is the screenshot from the first post in this thread.

https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/attachmen...0&d=1304425929

I do not have a calendar like that in my installed version

What does that mean ?

DemOnstar 08-20-2013 07:14 AM

Installed on 4.2.1..

Great little tool.....

Thanks for this...

DemOnstar 09-27-2013 07:47 PM

Some nautiness discovered...

One can create an article that is seen to be written by another user in CMS but the thread created by that CMS shows the original creator of the thread and not the elected user..

Ok for now but if no change, what is the point?

Thanks... Good effort.....

Bowlsworld 02-14-2014 07:17 AM

Does anyone know how to make this work in my Blogs as well?

BadgerDog 03-18-2014 12:35 PM

Thanks... installed on 4.1.3 and it seems to work fine...

Nice mod .. very helpful... :)

Doug

does anyone get this message or it is only me!!!

HTML Code:

Thank you for installing Change Author And Date. I've found an additional plugin you'll like.

Forum spam is an epidemic. To get a Free copy of the award winning anti-spam plugin Spam Hammer 3-Series, and use it for 30 days for absolutely nothing, type your email address below.

never saw that before

fxdigi-cash 04-20-2014 02:30 AM

well, this is strange anyways...

I found the code in the xml file for this plugin that says:

PHP Code:

Thank you for installing <em>Change Author And Date</em>.  I've found an additional plugin you'll like.

I guess I will avoid this plugin as I see a redirect inside the code to vbresult website...

I downloaded the version 3.0.2 on 8/1/12 and it does not have that code in it. I just checked. You must have downloaded the newer version which is now listed on this mod.

I would be very careful about installing any code with embedded redirects. I'm always cautious about using mods and ALWAYS scan them with Norton.

Also , sometimes when you report mod bugs the mod author asks for admin access to you site to check the mod. Giving a stranger admin access or any kind of special access to your site is a very bad idea.

Toorak Times 04-20-2014 01:49 PM

I sent a message to Steve at Lancerforhire to find out Disco, Spam Hammer is his.

I have found this invaluable using the Publishing Suite AS a Publishing suite, being able to posts for Contributors in their name has helped growth and allowed newbies to get their heads around vB ways.

I/we really need this in Calendars and Blogs. FORTUNATELY I have found a work around for the Calendars through a 4.2.1 fix for the Events Forum...I have it working on my 4.2.2pl1 site and it not only allows me to point my bands and promoters to a reliable Gig Guide (given Farcaster's awesome additions for the Calendars and Events Forum).

It has been frustrating not being able to upload pics from my computer, iCalendars only accept url uploads and for my punters contributors this is often too much to work out, their just Bloggers eh?

This works for me and I suppose it will also allow me to change the names of Authors now the Calendars and Forums are connected.

I still REALLY need this for the Blogs though. It is a royal pain to have to login as a member to post for them, a 3 stage process...

I am actually having a lot of fun banging a multimedia newspaper into a vB4 site, www.tooraktimes.com.au, still a dummy, or as youse web dudes say 'Beta' site but a live build.

Anything CMS orientated is much looked for by me.

Toorak Times 04-20-2014 01:51 PM

Steve's cool mate

Got this,

Mick,

I did not take over that mod; the author and I had a partnership some time ago and since spam hammer shut down he removed the code. It appears he forgot to delete a phrase, that's all.

maybe you are right, but his code doesn't think so...

Disco_Stu 04-21-2014 10:50 AM

That looks like more than just a leftover phrase to me. You might want to report the mod to the admins and have them look at it.

Toorak Times 04-21-2014 11:29 AM

Steve also did Spam Hammer, pity that can't be supported any longer

Disco_Stu 04-21-2014 01:28 PM

It's not really a good idea to include a redirect and prompt for your email address in a mod without disclosing that on the mod description.
