Ok I am sorry to report that Kras's fix did not fix the problem with the posting of someone's birthday on the correct day.
As it posted the announcement 27mins before midnight on the day before the persons birthday. For example. Persons birthday was the 28th of November 2010. Announcement was posted at 11:27 PM on the 27th of November and the message read as follows. 1 member is celebrating their birthday on 27-11-10: -Erica (born in 1986, Age: 24) Happy Birthday! So is there something else that needs to be changed in the code for the post to be made on the correct day? As everything else seems to be fixed :). Thanks. |

Since we installed it on v4.04pl1, all of the time issues and incorrect dates for posting such as what you're reporting have been fixed... I suspect the problem you've experienced has something to do with DST etc., or something else .. Regards, Doug |
Yes the problem lies with the DST setting if you have it enabled.
I have now disabled the DST setting and the mod works well. Thanks! |

But it is not show image. |
Duplicate Birthday greeting just started happening again.

Opp's seems I was a bit premature with saying that the posting date is fixed.
The actual time of the post is correct. As in the mod makes the post on the day of the persons birthday just after midnight. In this case the post was made on the 1-12-2010. However in the message itself. It says that the person celebrated their birthday the day before which was the 30-11-2010 as shown in this image. https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/external/2010/11/1.jpg So is there a way in which I can correct what the post actually posts in the message? As it should be saying. Code:
1 member is celebrating their birthday on 01-12-10: Rather than Code:
1 member is celebrating their birthday on 30-11-10: As shown in the image above. Thanks. |
I too just installed this and it's posting toda for birthdays that are actually tomorrow. Not only that but it's posted two threads in one day.
Doesn't this post just a single thread for that days birthday at midnight? |
It has been doing it for a while. I think it has more to do with the vb software, then the mod really.
|
i have this already but havent updated on VB 4.1 patch 2 however the option for it to create a thread on ppls birthdays wasnt enabled .. should i upgrade ? or is it gonna be alot of hassle ? i want to enable the option of it creating a thread but if something goes wrong i really wouldnt knwo how to fix it . so im asking for honest opinions should i upgrade or leave this alone ?

I am going to uninstall this one people. :-(
It is posting a day early and gets the date of the persons birthday wrong. Good shot, wrong target. BTW I'm on 4.0.8 |
Are you running this new one updated or an older version just asking might be a stupid question

4.0.8 can't seem to get it to work, it always post 1 hour before midnight thus getting the date born wrong by 1 hour. I have tried Kras' Fix to no avail.

Nice Mod... Thanks for your efforts :)
|
Verified that it posts a day early, and the posted birthday is also mis-stated as a day early.
Love the mod though |

Same here... |
For all posters with this problem of it being a day off ...
Use kras's modified version (serach posts) ... works fine ... Author's released version has the problems described .. Regards, Doug |

Saw kras's posts on the subject, downloaded and installed his variant ... Problem solved for us and we've been running it for months on our v4.04pl1 vBulletin and never had an out of sync date (off by a day) problem since ... Your mileage obviously varies, but I'd still recommend others with the problem try that version, as it just might work for them as it did for us ... ;) Regards, Doug |
I am using v4.1.1
|
My Forum Updated to 4.1.1.

|
Un-installed
Kept making MANY threads for the same 2 members (20+) :( 4.1.1 |
NVM , SORRY uninstalled i cant figure out hwo this time thing works , too new to this
|
I'm having a problem with the birthday being announced around 11pm on the day BEFORE the birthday.
I'm on GMT+0 time zone, would this have something to do with the time calculations? when does VSA - Autobirthday run? i was hoping to perhaps delay it in the schedulaed tasks to later in the morning. |
I'll probably do what I was trying to avoid all the time - add file to upload. It will make this working properly, based on forum time, executed once a day. I just need some free time...
